Thread: Does this community really need a V4 figure from DAZ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Victoria 3 was a vast improvement over her predecessors, but there's still a need for some basic corrections that I hope will appear in V4. Problems with Vicki's neck, lips and jaw are all too frequent and drastic after applying even tiny morphs, then attempting to pose the character. Altering facial features is difficult because the model's geometry is so limited. No matter how many changes the user attempts to make, what invariably results is a slightly different cloned variation of the basic original character.
I'd also like a new Mike, since he suffers from the same limitations as Vicki.
Thread: Why Poser creators/DAZ 3d creators had a difficult time with boning and never fi | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I understand and sympathize with tebop's frustration, but also realize that unless you're willing to fork over a price for a more complex Poser in the range of 3DS Max ( which I did and regret ) and is so process intensive that it forces a state of the art home pc to labor at a snail's pace, we'll have to find some work arounds to solve these issues.
One solution that comes readily to mind ( besides post-work ) might be DAZ's creation of figures pre-modeled in various kneeling, limb flexing and sitting positions that can then be adjusted into a wider range of poses that will eliminate polygon shear/warping. Alternatively, they might offer "limb kits" that allow for the replacement of standard figure legs, arms and pelvises that can be integrated into a modified figure with a couple of mouse clicks, using the same process Poser has always offered. Just a thought.
Thread: Who created the DAZ millennium figures? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
One of the things I like best about Poser, next to the friendly user interface, is the mutability of the character models. While it's true the Daz figures come without detailed genitalia, that's a feature that can be adjusted with a few mouse clicks. Arduino's Perfect G and Magic G addons are dirt cheap and offer mature users the alternative of creating anatomically detailed figures for their work. I think that's a perfect way to handle the situation, since it allows the parents of younger enthusiasts to use the program without worrying about content age suitability.
All in all, I think DAZ have done a wonderful job with their creations, and look forward to what the future holds.

Thread: OT- Anyone use AVG anti-virus software? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've found AVG to be far more dependable than any commercial software. I think it's a great tool.

Try this. The English female is quite nice. http://www.research.att.com/projects/tts/demo.html
Thread: What is your favorite (affordable) modeling program? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I use 3D Max and Lightwave, but I suppose most people with more sense than I have wouldn't want to spend that much money. Wings 3D is an excellent freeware program that can import/export Poser format compatible models ( 3ds, .obj ) and is extremely easy to use.
