I tried it with an Egyptian type eye makeup effect and it's hard to get it just right so the shape of the figure's head doesn't distort it, even on the big face maps. Just try tweaking it and keep rendering it until you get the right effect. It takes time and work, but usually you can finally get it just right. Melanie

When you import the Bryce background into Poser and paste the figures to the background, a shadow should show. At least that's my experience. Very realistic facial expression and good lighting, Solo. Melanie

Pan, One note on the eyes of the texture, they look really, really lifelike, but I think the gleam in the eyes could be a little less blurred and a lot shinier. If you look at real eyes, the shine is very distinct against the pupil. These look a little dry. Otherwise, it's just great, and so far, the best eyes I've seen yet! Melanie

Yes, please, some male things, please, please, please! There's a plethora of female taxtures (almost an over-abundance of it by now) but the male characters are still poverty stricken. I guess I need to get my tools out and start working on some male textures myself, but there are those artists out there who are so much better than I am and you folks do such a better job. Thanks for all the great work. You folks deserve a round of applause. They just keep getting better and better. Melanie
Thread: A public thanks | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ooooohhh! I love warm and fuzzies. But seriously, I've found most of the folks on the Internet in general to be a very friendly and generous bunch. I've made a lot of friends through e-mail and this forum. You've all been such great "teachers" and "advisors" and we've learned so much through this site. We're also allowed to "sound off" occasionally, even if it has sometimes strayed off the subject, and everyone seems to show a great deal of patience in explaining things. Diane, I was going to post something similar to yours myself, but you beat me to it. I've been thinking about it a lot lately, how nice everyone here is. Thanks so much to everyone. Even though I've never met any of you face-to-face, I feel as if I know many of you. Melanie

That's an interesting render, there. I still can't get the hang of the magnets. All I do is make a mess with them. I'll have to keep trying. Melanie

Thanks, tlaubach! Your scene is beautiful. Love the rainbow against the stormy sky. It looks like hope in dark times. Nice touch. Very neat! This is the first rendering I've seen anything of mine in. This is exciting. Melanie

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I'm still learning these things. I appreciate your help. Melanie

I tried this, and if I try to set it beyond 1024, it pops back to 1024 and won't let me go higher. Melanie
Thread: Realistic hair tutorial | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Try Spike's hair tutorial in 3D Vision (sorry, I don't have the URL at the moment). It works great! Basically, by using the smudge tool in Photoshop, you can smooth the hair and add strokes to make it look like hair texture. Melanie

I'm interested! How do I set the lights "map size"? I'm not sure what that means. Which dial would we be setting? Melanie

Thread: Celebrity Faces? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Again, it's one of those nagging little gray areas. It leaves me uncertain. It seems like it should be flattering to the celeb, but oh well! Maybe I'll just use them in my own work. On a Poser figure, they're not really recognizable because of the shape of the features on the stock figures. Thanks, Scott, for your input. Melanie

It's hysterical! I think it's the flasher who's embarrassed rather than his "victims." They showed him! Hee, hee! Melanie
