Well I've tried Traveler's magnets and haven't had much luck yet. The default size on the magnet is set for flat chest, and getting the magnet to work for an in-between size has thus far been an excercise in futility. I may as well be trying to make snow on the surface of the sun. I guess I need more time yet with figuring out how to get the magnets to do what I want. I can see I'm almost there with them at times, but well, I'm still pretty lost. Thanks for the suggestions though, much appreciated.
Thread: Does the ProPack have the network check?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

Well, if you have a small amount of resources to spare, get Zonealarm (as Marque mentioned). It's a free software firewall that lets you specify per program if it is to have access or not (pretty simple configuration at that). Works like a champ at denying programs network access.Thread: Need some Rendering help | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Are you sure you're using the transparency maps properly? It looks like there's no eyelashes at all. Is the trans max at 100%? Falloff at 0%? Map selected for the lashes? (I'm not sure if the eyelashes are listed twice or not, but some things like the eyebrows are, and you have to know which to use.) Highlight black? Object color whatever you want the lashes to be? Etc. That's what it looks like in this specific case, that one of the settings isn't correct (or that the map is no good). As far as other things go, it's a matter of finding good textures and changing settings and in some cases, drawing things on afterwards. The eyebrows on poser/posette for instance suck (note the picture) and have to be drawn on later, while Victoria's don't (so I've read, but I don't have Vicky, or Michael for that matter). You may also want to play with the highlight for the skin. A high percentage, say around 95% with a highlight of near black or very dark brown seems to give a less "plastic" look. Unfortunately I'm still learning this stuff as well, so I hope someone else will be able to offer some pointers in case mine suck. :) Keep plugging away at it, it'll come with time.
Thread: Sigh - short trans map story | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yeah, what bloodsong said. :) Since it's a trans map you can get away with a gif or something, but if you're lazy like me and use jpgs, make sure your compression isn't too high or you'll lose the black as he said. I think my problem was caused by not changing my transparency on my layers (I think i exported my image into a jpg at 95% opacity instead of 100% opacity, because last night I kept noticing the bar wasn't going to 100% in PSP until I moved it a second time, and now I remember to watch that closely). So long as it's true black, and your highlights are black (and trans settings are set) you should be ok.

Uh, did you try clicking on it to go to the free model section? If so, you should see that they have a new division and website for poser called Daz3d. Try that link and there you go. :)Thread: Warhorse uploaded to my site | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Cool, I was waiting for that to become available! It's damn awesome and I hope to be able to put it to use soon. Thanks. :)

Well I'm somewhat at a loss here then. If I have transparency problems, it's normally because of one those things I said. Perhaps someone else can provide some more things to check?
Thread: Need advice: Skin tex maps-do they wrap @dif resolutions? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What are the dimensions of your texture? In general, I seem to see 3000 x 3000 for "high res" textures.
Thread: need help | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Did you make the areas meant for transparency completely black? And did you set it to 100% max transparency? Is the transparency falloff at 0? Is the highlight color black? those are a few things I'd check first. If you use various shades of gray, it only does partial transparency. If you use a highlight color other than black, you'll end up getting some weird effects sometimes. Hope that helps. Will check back in a bit. :)
Thread: Problems posting a message | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, since no one else (that I can see) is complaining of the same thing, and from what it sounds like, I'd blame it on your browser (be it IE or NN). Depending on which you're using I'd suggest getting updates. If you're using Navigator, I think 4.73 (or something along those lines, 4.76 maybe?) is the latest. Navigator 6 is an insult to Mozilla and I suggest staying away from it (though feel free to try it; don't let me discourage you). If you're using Explorer, updating to IE5.01 if you haven't already is a good idea. IE5.01 is good, IE5.5 is bad. Stay away from 5.5, but again, feel free if ya want to. If neither of those do it, you may be having other problems, or your ISP may just have problems too, though it's usually on the client's end (speaking from experience, not out of my ass). Hope that helps you. :) Oh, and clearing the cache of everything every so often doesn't hurt either. ;)
Thread: Looking for some boots... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, they aren't for me. :P The readme even says that it's created strictly from the cowboy boot R. It's not a big deal really, but if I could break them apart, that'd be awesome. Unless...now here's an idea...I load it twice, and hide one of the boots in each pair. At the very least, that's a poor man's fix until I can figure it out otherwise. :) Thanks for taking the time to answer my ramblings. :D
Thread: Looking for some boots... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks again folks, I really do appreciate it. The ones on RSOB are great (minus the circular cut at the top from the original cowboy boots) except that they're one item. Ouch. Makes it hard to place them how I want them. However, the Trek boots are individual per foot, so that helps. Now, if only I could combine the two. :) Thanks though, I'll keep playing with them both and see what happens. :)

Ah, thanks big time! I managed to find the site and grabbed them. With a little bit of trans mapping I think I'll be able to get the look I want out of them. It should be interesting making them work with Posette though. ;) Thanks again!
