Works with every texture i have tried (about 4 different ones)
Texture: P+J Two of Hearts (mod by operaguy)
Bump Map: made from that texture
Model: EJ (3Dream) with male morphs spun up.
Hair: Egypt Hair by 3Dream
Lights: Two pure white infinite
Still two lights, but the main light is too close or too strong. Don't let this Yellow Jaundice happen to you!

Richardson, do you have the FX version of the Athlon, the one that costs like $900? ::::: Opera :::::

Marianne, what is the bucket? The system cache? [no manual RAM allocation per app on OSX, right?] OKAY richardson, that is TIGHT! (i have a teenager). That is the 2400, not the 3400??? Must be the RAM. Or the Win2K. Anything special about your RAM modules? What is their spec? [i am serious, if i can cut render times in half, i am shopping, right now.] ::::: Opera ::::: OT P.S. i used to really like BBEDit for html when I was webmastering on Mac, now use EditPlus on PC.

shadowdancer: Unoptimised PC. AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (actual clock speed 2.2 ghz), 1.5 Gb Ram, OS Win XP Pro SP2, 165 seconds. can you or anyone comment on this fast result, with regard to: does XPPro vs XPHone contribute? contribution of SP2 over SP1 is there something about that particular AMD chip? As opposed to the AMDs just under it in power? If your time is accurate, your sys is getting better than 1/3 more speed than mine, and you are significatly faster than anyone on the ReadMe included with the test, and I want your speed and secret. What is the factor? ::::: Opera :::::

I just ran it again, this time with an actual timer(!) instead of counting out loud like an idiot. P4 2.4 1GigRam XP Home 256 seconds I am very tempted to throw poser on my G5. ::::: Opera :::::

P4 2.4 1GigRam XP Home 274 seconds.
No optimazation of any kind, LOL!
I had a few mail and broswer windows open and a text editor. My speed slower, just a little, than others reported on the ReadMe. It's because my sys is undefragmented, in last 2% of HD space and got a pretty big Poser system. No complaints.
What about Mac trials? Has anyone run this on a G4 or G5 in addition to penguin?. I have both, but no poser on them.

Thread: Question about the new Vue Infinite | Forum: Vue
I have an animation to produce and in fact have been able to acquire VuePro4 at a good price. It is sitting on my desk in a box. I've intended to use it mostly as a render farm. I have small need for vegitation generation, etc. However, there is one big fly-over exterior, and I look forward to using VUE for that. VUE's ability to work with DEM data contributes. So, with the more precise information here (good news/bad news) I will have to do a reality check. I don't mind tinkering with imported poser scenes if I can't get where I need to go. Not expecting miracle. Most of the movie is two-shots on small interior sets, mostly dialogue, like a stage-play. I will animate in Poser because of Mimic and because I am already experienced in Poser animation. In the next 10 days or so I'll install VUE and begin testing the move-over of characters, props and animations. Even given the limitations about procedurals, I may be fine. Then it will be cow time. ::::: Opera :::::
Thread: Questions about face-off's real skin shader... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have been using the Shader and watching render times carefully. No increase in render time noticed. About lights, I have reduced the number of lights I use, because the shader seems (to me anyway) to help the soft distribution of light on skin. My opinion has been that light "sets" consisting of clusters of many at low-ish intensity have/had been attempting that same trick. No need now. Fewer lights, faster render. ::::: Opera :::::

ei yi yi, I hope this is not the start of a mac/pc flame war of idiotic bikering.... Is there some sort of benchmark, and could someone post a link? I am in both worlds and would welcome some sort of standard so I can make stategy decisions. Or... i can just do my own. :::: Opera :::::

I have that exact Mac... But I mostly use PC for Poser..would love to render the exact same thing on PC and see what I get. Can you post a link to whatever the test is/was. ::::: Opera :::::
