11 because I have an old computer and can't afford to upgrade, it does what I need for the times I use it and I'm not really bothered about the extra features.
Most of the time I use it to render my own creations, which I will hopefully get back to selling once my health has the all clear.

Thread: Why is it faster to render a small object enlarged than render a close up? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Makes sense up to a point but Poser tends to render very fast when there's nothing in the bucket to do anything with, regardless of object size. It'll slow to a crawl on the object surface but as soon as it goes past... zooom.

Makes sense about the vertices. Not sure about the background, since when I'm doing these renders they're usually in an empty scene. No background, no images or anything else. I was making some images to turn into library icons.
Anyhow, I'm happy that it does the trick for whatever reason but I was - and still am - curious about it.

Thread: Smoothing Problem - Object Imported From Blender | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yikes. I don't use Blender but IMO, the first problem is the cylindrical parts are too low poly. I'd at least double them before doing anything else. After that, I'd run a row of polys either side where the faces join to help Poser stop smoothing it out too much. Yes it adds to the poly count but it shouldn't be a problem on a modern system.
Also, there's a stray vert on the handle, which may not cause you any problems but if it was me, I'd kill it.

Thread: Deleting and changing mat zones? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
UVMapper Pro definitely can. You can delete any or all material zones, create new ones and (although I can't remember the steps) rename existing ones. It's saved me some faffing about in the past with a rigged and finished figure. If it's a simple prop, though, I usually drop it into Wings and work there. In Poser, you can't. You can use the group tool to change the mat zones for parts or all of a prop (or figure) and you can also add them there, but you can't remove or rename existing ones. You'll have to use other software for that. Most 3d modelers can do it. I don't know if UVmapper can.
To do this in a 3d modeler, export the obj (or use the original) and open it in the 3d app. Change the zones. export as an obj. Import into poser and save as a new prop.

Thread: 4K Monitor | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Funny, I've been using a 4k monitor for years with no problems. Mind you, I ain't using P12. Still on 11 here. Never scaled the interface, either.

Thread: Is there a way to turn off all lights in Poser 11? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I did read the question. Can't see where it says "at once", though. Either way I suggested - and the others - work.

Delete them all - there's a script - or simply switch their values to zero.

Lovely.
How about Alan Alda next? ;)

Should be easy enough to isolate that particular area. If you have UVMapper, load the obj, select the material, then select Inverse. Delete the current selection but DO NOT SAVE anything yet. Now select what's left, which should be the bit you want.
Save the UV map only.
Exit UVMapper without saving anything else.
That should give you the template you need.
I'd be happy to do it for you if you could send the thing over, but I don't know what the copyright situation is on the file.

Boni - I know it's not ideal but could you make your own version? It doesn't look too difficult, judging by the image.

Thread: Major bug-Parameter Dials | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
SamTherapy posted at 4:30 AM Sun, 4 December 2022 - #4450903Never experienced a total freeze, sorry. When the dials freeze, the dial values are also frozen. Can you access the values with a keystroke?Windows user here and I learned long ago that if you want precise control over parameters, click on the dial to activate, then type in the value. Using the mouse to turn the dials is an exercise in frustration at best.

I didn't say they were. You edited out my first bit, which says, "Wellll... they were, sort of.", with the "sort of" part providing context. Does it compare to writing a graphics app? Nope. But it's not as big a leap as, for example, if Budweiser or Coca Cola were to suddenly start making 3D stuff.

Bondware was not a software developer before Poser came into their hands
Wellll... they were, sort of. Bondware, if you recall, was a software platform for site and forum based places. IIRC, Rotica used to use the Bondware platform. Then again, it's always been a bit manky, so there's that. Even now, Rendo is a bit... idiosyncratic, to be polite. :D
