ttops is right, after finishing something I like I always burn to CD. But even this has it's drawbacks especially if you don't have a burnproof writer. I had two CD's full of wonderful artwork that I thought I could keep forever until I decided to add one more little file and the damned writer overwrote everything. The first one was an accident the second one was not learning from my mistakes, I'm much more careful now. Catlin

I think this is a great idea cshaftoe. With all the folks in here from all over the globe it could turn into an interesting collection of money trees. Catlin
Thread: Geographical Influence... | Forum: Bryce
So far I only count 6 of us girls in here, do you think there are any more lurking on the sidelines, or are we really the only females ? Should add a bit about myself I guess....I have been working in fine arts, oil on canvas, for many years and came to computer art and 3d not long ago. It's amazing how creative computing can take over your life in a short space of time and since meeting ttops it now appears I'm trying to make comercial use of these new found talents.

Thread: Heads up - couple of free meshes from Marlin Studios. | Forum: Bryce
It didn't come with any textures or materials, but I thought "no probs I can add them myself even if it does have 183 parts," I have the patience of a saint. Anyway, one of the floors doesn't seem to want to take on any textures, just leaves a dark grey band in the middle. Strange.

Sevenofeleven - The textures are basic Bryce with a little tampering done in the editor. Poppi - he is poseable, he wouldn't be a proper soft toy if he wasn't.

"who thinks that it would more productive if people commented like this in the galleries?" I certainly do. Its lovely if folk think it's a "great pic", but that doesn't really tell you anything about where you went right or where you could make improvements. Catlin

Thanks -tj the bear is a toy after all, he's not supposed to look normal.........whatever normal is.
Thread: OT: Mojoworld 2.0 | Forum: Bryce
This looks so realistic clay, it is a beautiful image. I knew Mojoworld was good but your talent really shines through here taking the program to a new level. "I've never been able to create anything that looks so realistic in bryce" If only this sort of reality could be achieved in Bryce the world would be a wonderful place. I downloaded the Mojo demo version 1.2 yesterday, can't afford to buy new software at the moment :( Still trying to get to grips with it, can't say if I could ever get close to your standard but you've given me something to aspire to. Thread: My first real model | Forum: Bryce
hoovie, yes it was made mostly in metaballs, apart from the nose and the eyes. I've seen a lot of posts with spectacular images made with metaballs and since folk have recomended there use I thought I'd try. Making the head bigger should be no problem, but what I can do with the eyes will take a bit of thinking about. When I've resolved these issues I'll post the new image and see what you think. Thanks for the input. Catlin

Draculaz, you do have the right to do it, but what you say will affect the way others look at what you say in the future, and the work you create. I welcome people to give me positive critisism because I know I am not yet fullfilling my full potential in Bryce and without positive critisism I will never achieve that potential. Negative critisism is futile and leaves a bitter taste, it does not help anyone. As for mediocre, well I think my entry is, but I look to the future and improving on what has gone before, learning from my mistakes. Computer art and 3D does not come easily to all. People need a chance to learn and expand and I'm sure that even you were not perfect the first time you tried to create on computer. This is a wonderful place and your previous comments can only make this forum better, by stirring up the imagination of the members. Peace to all, whether they be....good, mediocre or bad. Catlin
Thread: combining two pictures into one | Forum: Photoshop
I knew there were some level headed people in this forum somewhere, and I'm glad you have come to the aid of sissy-boogie with the imagination and knowhow to resolve her problems. Now that I have seen the pleasant side of the PS forum, I will definately come back and ask some questions of my own. Catlin

Thank goodness it was nothing serious :) BTW it was mid afternoon in Europe, and I was so upset when I couldn't get my first renderosity hit of the day. (my first visit of the day to Renderosity is like that first cup of coffee in the morning) Catlin
