Thanks, Nerd. I'm having trouble logging in to support. Requested a password reset, but haven't seen the promised followup email yet.

Howy2012, that sounds like it has something to do with the introduction of scatter groups. I would try assigning different scatter groups to affected areas and see what happens.

Thankfully, I had saved my original download as well as copied over SR1. Unfortunately, I never copied over SR3 from the DLM, so my rollback is further behind than before I started. But at least Poser is working again. I guess I try again if they ever release an SR6. :
Really aggravating, because I was really looking forward to using Superfly in both Queue Manager and Render in Background. Some of the other improvements looked promising too.

Poser 11 Pro crashes on load for me since the update. No problem immediately before update. Windows 8.1.
Edit: I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both with reusing my old preference files and with just backing them up. The problem persists. I see the opening screen only long enough to see it crash with the dreaded old message: "Poser Pro executable file has stopped working."

Thanks, Cage. I managed to revert to SR2. I didn't have SR3. I'm guessing I hadn't installed it. Not sure if that was the source of the problem. Hopefully they'll get this problem fixed. I think they've got Poser Pro running with Queue manager now (?), which I can't do.

Ditto. I guess the system doesn't work so well.

Just installed the update, and now Poser crashes immediately upon launch. Every time. Reinstalled several times, and also restarted my computer.
Not sure how to roll back with this download manager setup. (Short of a system restore, which would seem a bit drastic.)

A bit more improvement on Pauline. Replaced the eyebrows and did some other minor work on the head texture; made the eye colour map a bit less saturated, redid the hair shader etc.

My first play with Pauline. I don't have any add-on morph packs, so this is just default morphs plus a few minutes in the Face Room. (No sculpting, even with the morph brush.) Custom skin shaders, which probably could use a bit more bump.

Not sure who you're talking to. If me, yes; in fact, I made a point of verifying color calibration when I reinstalled Windows a few weeks ago.

I'm just starting to (finally) figure out depth of field in Poser, so this isn't all it could be, and I killed the render before it was completely noise-free (to get the look I'm after, I'm planning on combining it with a fresh render that does not use DoF at all). Still I quite like the way this looks.

Thread: The sameness of characters for sale | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Years ago, I started to try to put together some "believable mid-life" characters. I came up with something for my own use, but pretty much concluded that I don't have the time to learn texture creation well enough to manufacture distributable maps, even assuming use of merchant resources.
I do disagree with Vilters though regarding dial spinning. I think that excellent morph packs make believable, distinct-looking characters entirely possible. But most character creators simply don't dial those in. It's not that much effort; they apparently just are not interested.

Here's my first scene type render in Superfly. This is the unretouched render; my gallery version has a couple of Postworkshop filters applied to sharpen it up: https://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/?image_id=2657684
Scene is Stonemason's Enchanted Forest.

Okay, just assume. Others have reported otherwise, but obviously, they are mistaken.

Don't assume that GPU will render faster than CPU.
But yeah, this doesn't claim to be one of the fastest GPU PBRs.
