Hey Pam, you got broadband or dial up? If you have broad band, do you have one of these little firewall routers? If not, you are probably being beaten to death with this new worm, and possibly even infected with it. I would check www.norton.com or www.mcafee.com for an online virus scanner for recent problems. If you find you've been infected and are on broadband, buy a router + firewall, it'll save your #$#$...not perfect, but pretty damned close! eric

Hm, I had this problem with my little plant I made a few weeks back. I guess the DNS issue never got resolved. Anyone know of someone who might be able to host it? eric Spit, IM me your email address, if you want me to send it to you. It's about 575K in size, if that isn't too large.

OK, I actually got the whole file this time:) You wouldn't think I was actually a programmer since I can't even ftp a freakin file all the way...oh well, some days are better than others.Anyone who wants to give this one a go should be able to use the link to get the file. Just unzip it someplace in one of your characters folder.

Hi peggy, this is an xfrog tree (from scratch, though). It is a really nice program, though it requires a different approach to building stuff than other 3d programs (basically you are manipulating mathmatical functions). For those interested in giving this little guy a test run, I'll post a link to this thread tonight. I thought I uploaded the most recent version, but it apparently created a single file of 0 length (it was a real fast download, though:) I don't have access to it here, so it will be after 6:00 before I can get 'im uploaded. eric

OK, tested out the MAT compatibility with RDNAs Old Wood stuff, and it works fine. My favorite mats came from some of the full versions I bought, but there were a couple from the OW expansion 1 pack that looked pretty nice. The desolation pack also has a burnt out looking bark, but it shows patterns too clearly in the when textured on this guy....drat! Technically, any bark texture that is seamless will work, as long as it isn't too different proportion-wise....I can always rescale the mapping, but I would need an example to work with. Let me know if you would like a copy (and can handle a 2meg zip file) If it is too big, I can chop it down using some optimization settings, however, that risks losing some of the detail in the branches and possibly some of the rounded shape of the trunk...I can also try and reduce the number of branches though what you see above is my favorite so far...it might not look quite as nice with any fewer.... IM me with your email if you want a copy of the file. When you are happy with it, I'll see about making it available under freestuff. eric

As you'll notice from the other picture, the tiny branches get anti-aliased out....but they look nice when you get close up...This mesh is 4.5 Megs, is that too big?

Here is the current incarnation. You'll notice the textures look MUCH better! The textures on this render are from one of the RDNA old wood textures. Again, I can't distribute those files, however, I can make the material names compatible, and thus the MAT files from the packages made by the folks at RDNA would work....

Did anyone get an explanation for the $5 gift certificates? I have one on my account, but my PC membership isn't due to renew for over a month or two. However, I should have recieved a refund (though more than $5) Just curious, I sent them a note sunday night, but haven't gotten a resonse...similar to the experience of others here. eric

Well, don't take my word for it that it will work, though I think that it should (at least I remember reading it that way...) It really is easy to do, though doing dozens of them could probably get kind of time consuming. If you have access to a program like Morph Manager (freebie for windows) and a decent text editor, you can do it without anything else. eric

I don't have DW's tool, but DAZ's only works for DAZ configured INJ stuff, so their's is no use for creating your own custom INJ files (at least not without modifying the resulting pz2 somehow) It is actually easy, though a bit tricky to explain. If it were just a single morph, I could do the inj stuff for you. If you expect to be doing a lot of it, the tool is probably worth it, though. If you want a hand building the INJ file, IM me. eric

Well, here is a 15 minute stab using your picture as a reference. With some sleep (been up for almost 24 hrs straight) and a little more time, I can probably get you something similar.
Let me know if you are interested (and if you have a bark) The one currently on there is not mine, so I couldn't distrubute it.

Oh, that's frustrating, I'm sure. I just checked, and mozilla is working fine here. Perhaps it's a cookie error or a cache problem (something messed up yesterday that later got fixed....even though your program didn't pick up on the fix). Do you know how to empty your cache (Browser cache that is)? eric

It's something they've done with the netscape support....it works fine in IE (I use mozilla and couldn't get in, but happened accross it in IE and noticed that it worked fine) eric
