I have been running poser since version 1, so 1,2,3,4,5 and 7.
I have been running it on a mac from os 7, 7.5, 8, 9, to osx 10.4.9
I have never had any problems with zip file or runtime instulations
in osx mac has it's own unzip program a widget that just unpacks it
post poser 5 uses png files so if you have rsr file you use RSRCONV
If you are still running poser 4 or Poser Pro you're in mac os 9 at best
and then you use MACONVERTER
Don't worry about it, just don't make it a .exe
Thread: Need Help removing a joint glitch | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I fixed it. I reloaded the parts into poser 4, made a figure and exported that as a obj file. Then futzed with the abdomen and then edited the cr2 file created with objcr2 in poser 7and replaced the actor abdomen text in that file with the hand made version created in poser 4 and pointed the figure's geometry to the new obj file. Then I took that cr2 file and ran it throw Wardrobe wizard taking a M3 file and converting that to another M3 file. Â It seemed to work out ok. I am not sure where the problem was exactly, but thank God and Greyhound it's gone

I guess I'll have to go do the work I had hoped objcr2 would do.
Yes it is a 1812 Redcoat's Coatee.
It's a main part of the package I am trying to finish up to go to market

Thanks for the input. I was affaid I would have to buy both versions at some point. I was just hoping it would be like DAZ and Hexigon2 d/l one, both, none or all of the above and choose later.
Â
Thanks again.

yes, Osprey has a good referance collection. I have a dozen or so on this time period. British Redcoat (2) and The American War are the primary booklets for this work. Lakota

The zip file problem should now be fixed. The obj and cr2 are now just named coatee, so no name changes in zipping the files. Also a new cr2 file was made that fixes most of the joint problem and that twist madness. enjoy Lakota

I think the name problem is with my zip program. I run a mac so StuffIt is what I generaly use, but used ZipIt 1.3.5 for all the pc users. This app cut the names down a bit. I'll find a solution to that. Thanks for the info. Lakota

I think the wacked out points on the elbow is a problem of two vertex points at the same place not welded as thought. RDS 5.5 is not welding well. I keep finding these points that should have been welded using the default tolerance, but haven't been. It's a pain to hunt them all down.
Thread: 1812 coatee progress | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This hasn't been released yet. I'm still in the process of refining the object to make it work. I'm working on the elbow problem at the moment. Then it's just running down the list and checking it twice. Maybe a beta test release this weekend. Lakota

Thank you all for your comments. As to creating other earler period clothing, that is not in the plan at the moment. Right now I need to work on the men and equipment to invade Canada, the new republic's attempt at a land grab at the dawn of that new century. It's all for a story line set for this period on the Great Lakes. My Privateer (not yet finished) and her crew need this conflict and those folks to set up a series of adventures or misadventures. Some of the weapons will have to be made. But a pike is a spear and a brown bess is a flintlock and those are already available. I do have to make the bayonet and some other stuff. As to an unbuttoned top, this is still possible, but it's work and a maze of polygons. My Privateer is held up at this stage. It's also very easy to get lost. It would adds a lot to the size of the file, right now at 616k for the obj and 116k for the cr2 (mac). The waistcoat of the Privateer is 1.7m. I would hate to get it that big. Plus RDS just loves to crash and I'm lucky to get any thing out of it. But, I will give it thought. It would make the item more versatile. Lakota

Scott, The holes are not real holes just the area in below the figure's chest, yes "the skin is poking through". I like the way the left images works with the up-turned shoulder pad like look. Lakota
Thread: Trouble importing 3DS to poser 4 on a Mac | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Be aware that I have found that a 3ds import will loose it's material colors on reopening the .pz3 and all are changed to just a preview color. I think if you convert the 3ds in 3d painter to an .obj you can import it to poser and respec the colors and then they will stay.

All items are being designed to be conformable. Right now the glove works if you hide the hand and fingers of the main figure using the hierarchy editor. However, there are some poses that make the glove forearm's base pop out past the main forearm. I would like to fix this. I think if I add the end rim of the upperarm/forearm, link it to the glove's forearm mesh that might do it. I also what to add a strap and a morph target to cinch it down to the main forearm. Lakota

It was a great Erro Flynn movie. I hope to post the model soon. Maybe next week or so, if all goes well. Alot needs to be done before she is ready. Also, Can't seem to get to my own web space and use it, so I might need a host. As to the left glove, thanks julienvan "copy symetrically" works just fine to make one. Just have to aline it now. As to her intentions once she is finished, I think she could handle some mead. Lakota

I guess PCF using Poser Maconverter 1.1 is the way to go. I did not know one could add and subtract and still use PCF. I always thought it was designed just as a Morph detector. I was mistaken. Encoding is new to the mac OS. As to the grouping of the hip items, it seems to work just fine. As traveler points out, both items were conforming via their .cr2's to begin with. I still have to get rid of somemore fractals and move some points around. A transparency test will tell a lot. I would like to get the bottons seperated with their own color option and a draw string as well, since those items would never really be transparent. I've never be happy working in RDS with the "bazaro world" of jump in / jump out, mesh molders, etc.. Just an old MacoModel user, but the export/import work-arounds were driving me nut. And now with the P4's and Painter 3D's MetaStream additions to every file export, nothing seems will import into any non-MetaCreation program. Thanks again Lakota
