Yes, they work, but you need to be saving them as Universal Poses. There is a section in the Manual that covers it. Some poses do not work well with some figures (usually fingers and toes), but then just Zero out those parts and fix, if it is an issue.
ย
Poser includes a whole Folder of Universal Poses... try them out on various figures.

Thread: OT Windows 7 search engine does not search external drives | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You may encounter an issue. My Windows 7 wanted to reindex the External and Network Drives each time I booted up... I had to turn it off. I was told by MS that this is expected behavior.

Thread: Zero the pose? How? Poser 2008 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
To clarify, it is Poser 8 (Poser Pro 2010)... Poser 8 was released in August of 2009.
ย
There is no Poser 2008

Thread: Zero the pose? How? Poser 2008 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Figure Menu> Zero Figure
Remove IK> Use any of the Remove IK Pose that come with Poser. (I moved one to the top of the Pose Library. I think you could put one in the top of every Library (Character, Expressions, etc... ) in Poser 8. I know it will show up, have not tried it.

Thread: Wondering where the higher-end 3D Poser artists have gone?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Not a dig at Galleries.. but I know that I stopped posting and removed all I could, after I found my art used on sites with no credit (worse was selling the image printed on a T-shirt) Not sure they got any sales, but it was sort of eye opening.. . stopped me cold from posting Gallery images. I have one for clients to view, mail them the link depending on the project. No sense in showing them Pin Ups or Fantasy Art if they want Sci Fi or Animals.

Thread: Will RSR support be added to Poser 8 in an update? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Not an answer, or a solution, but if you had the content already installed in Poser 7 or earlier, just copy the Library to your new install and the PNGs should already be there...
It is also neat to see some of the content you installed, but never used (mostly poses and expressions) no PNGs in those when you view them in Poser 8 or Poser Pro 2010!
I will say it was put in as a Feature Request, but I do not know if it will happen. (not sure of all the technical reasonsย that may be encountered) ย I recall also several users in the forumsย indicated that they were going to put together a script to do it in Poser when Poser 8 launched, but I think because of all the available Free Products, it was not high on anyones priority list. The nice thing about most of them, they will remove the RSR File and then you can Zip up the content and get rid of the annoying installers!

Thread: Why are conforming clothes not easy and perfect every time? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
One other comment, which I did not see mentioned in my quick read...
Some figures require you apply Fit Morphs to the clothing after conforming to the figure. G2 Figures I think were the first to have this, but it is used with others.

Thread: From Poser 4 --> Poser 2010 (info request) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You need Poser 6 or later to qualify for the Sidegrade Price to Poser Pro 2010. You would be better off Upgrading to Poser 8, then Sidegrading to Poser Pro 2010.

Thread: Poser upgrade | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
My recommendations when users ask is this...
If you do Animations and have a Network of computers
or
If you have any of the Host Applications (Maya, Cinema 4D, Lightwave, or 3Ds Max)
or
If you have a 64 Bit Operating System
It is worth it.
If not, Poser 8 should meet your needs. Even the last one may not meet the requirement in some cases.

Thread: Your Favourite Poser Figure | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, TY2 is one of my old favorites.. always grab her for any quick render or test... but in looking at my Project Folders... (apparently, I do not save all those tests)
Male (it was close... most were over 200 projects)... Kelvin G2 (283)
Female... Miki 2 (1326)
It is amazing the number of projects and tests I have done with her verses other figures, especially considering how long I used V3 (357)ย .ย
Oddly, the one figure that I must not have liked too much is M3.. I have a lot of content, but very fewย projects (67) I have more of the Hatchling Dragon (93)... more with Don (212)and James (236)ย each which surprised me.. then again, I did use Don a lot... always liked his look.
(I save all my Renders to Folders based on Figures for some strange reason...ย Miki 2 was the most overall)

I would use an Animated Background. You could also use an environment sphere.

Anyone having troubles importing anything in Poser should contact Support. Should work as well as in Poser 7, so there should be no reason to need to use that version to import.

Thread: general question and help | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
On Vista, you most likely do not have your Main Library in the Program Folders.
If you accepted the default, it will be in the Shared Folder or Public Folder.
For the DAZ3D Figures that want to install to the Program File Folder, it is not necessary. That has not been required of Poser for conent since Poser 5. You can install them to your Library or create an additional Library for Poser to install the Content. With the DAZ3D Figure Installers, you will want to use the DS Function and select the location of the Library Folder. The other option is to create a Poser.exe file in the desired Library Folder that contains the Runtime Folder where you want the content.
On Vista or Windows 7 if you install to the Program Files Folder, files will most likely end up in the Virtual Store. Poser will be able to find them, but it can cause issues down the road.

Thread: Covering scalp in hair lab | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Create a Skullcap and use that to grow your hair (if there is not already one for the figure)
Change the Material Settings for the Skullcap to match the hair...
