Cheers Varian (that's Cheers, as in thanks and not my name :oD ). I must admit, that I do backup my object folders, atmospheres, Varians Color Maps etc, etc. The only reason I didn't do it on the vegetation was becuase the biosphere.dll's where in the main directory. I also thought (but was not 100% sure) that Biosphere3.dll may not be included with a default install of Vue. Seeing half the time they get overwritten it might be worth people backing them up as well. Great tip Varian. Cheers (Thats Cheers, as Cheers in my name, not thanks...that's not to say I did not say thanks, becuase I did...didn't I?)

Mike; You probably already know this, but I thought it worth mentioning. Your right about Geocities, they do not allow direct linking to images, but I do know that some people can see them when others can't...for some strange reason. What I do (becuase they never show for me from Geocities), is select the red cross, right click then properties. Copy the Address URL and paste that into your browsers address bar and click Go to load the image. When you return to the original page (here for example), you will find the image has magically appeared :o) I'm extremely sorry if I have just taught you to suck eggs, but you never know, someone may find it helpfull. Regards, Cheers

HI all, Thanks for all your nice comments, and I will take them all on board and hopefully the final image will be an improvement. I think that you have all come up with some great ideas and given me plenty to work with :o) Thanks again everyone. Cheers P.S. Yep, back on line before schedule. The only problem was that I had to install the Vue veg all over again...all them damn serial numbers LOL!!

Hehehe Varian. I didn't want to complicate matters too much LOL. In all seriousness, you are right and the lights across the surface sounds appealing...thanks :o) I will try that out as soon as I have finished the animation of that exact shoal swimming out of the depths of some Poser Depth Cueing ;) Thanks again for the ideas...excellent! Cheers

LOL!!! I did try to add some light beams to it, but no luck. I might try to post process some in when I have a bit more time. Boy I hope that they add volumetric light to Vue 4. Thanks Laurie :o) Cheers.

Thread: Vue Block...... | Forum: Vue
Mike; 1. Get, Rob Whisenant's Tuna from Daz. 2. Realise just how powerful ERC is. 3. Read the tutorials at Rob's site http://www.rbtwhiz.com concerning cr2's and ERC. 4. Start up Notepad or CR2Edit. Three things could happen if you do this: a) Like me, become fascinated by ERC and have CR2Edit out all day (thus proving that you are completely mad). b) Realise that it was not Vue Block that you was suffering from, and the thought of looking at cr2 text code all day shocks you into making stunning pictures in Vue all day. c) You end up with not only Vue Block, but ERC block as well...thus you are beyond help for the foreseeable future, unless you hire the services of a doctor. Cheers (who can not believe that he is actually going to press the "Post Reply" button LOL!)

Thread: The best Vue gallery you're not visiting | Forum: Vue
That's a right old question you are asking there Mike. Hmmmm, I am almost tempted to say that it is Impressionist, but how do you define that within 3D? As Varian has said, it is a very unique style and I think the only way you could describe it is by saying "...in the style of David Camp." If David is reading this, maybe he could help us out and give us an insight into what inspires him, and if he has ever sat back and been able to define his own style. Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeers ;)

Greyskin, Seems almost certain to be a memory problem, you have an awfull lot of geometry in there. If them trees are models as well, I would dred to think how many polygons is taken up with them alone. Cheers

Anthony, you make a good point. CL have also mentioned that re-partitioning your drive will not effect the code, but if I re-partition my drive to add a new partition, then the drive configuration changes also. I'm sure CL have looked into this...well I hope they have. Cheers

Thread: More About Curious Labs, Warez, PPP, Security. {Sorry 4 More; Please Read!!} | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
DraX, you said; BTW, Cheers, why ave you made this decision to not purchase from CL ever again without even waiting it out to see what happens and what the product is like? Don't you think the mature action would be to base your decision upon actual facts, rather then assumptions? Hi Drax, My decision is based on mature action. Over the course of the last few days I have sent private mail to the CL team offering my support for Poser 4 in the future, and there battle against Warez. I'm sorry if this list is a bit formal but it helps me categorise my reasons :o)...and I've only just got up (yes another late night Steve ;) ) 1. Morally I feel that it is wrong for anyone to place hidden software code on my machine. The fact that CL do not wish to tell me how to remove (and therefore loose the use of the software), or let me know where it is even after I have registered worries me. I'm sure you agree DraX, that decision is made on fact. 2. As Karen mentioned above, provisions for overseas customers have yet to be decided, and I don't trust my local reseller with tech support LOL. 2. I do not use Poser characters in my professional work as the main subject, only as a way to produce a sense of scale in the images. Therefore any extra features that are in Poser 5 or PPP, don't out way my moral belief. 3. My character modelling abilities are good enough to be included in the images that I do (even though it means more effort). At the moment I feel very sad. I know that myself and others, have tried to help CL in their efforts against Warez and many times it has been impossible for CL to close down a site. As I have said in private mail to Karen, Steve Yatson and Steve Cooper, I still think the team are a great bunch at CL, and that I can understand and support why they have brought in the security software...I just feel that it is the wrong type. Hope that clarrifies what I have said DraX. You never know, Poser 5 my have so many excellent features that I chuck my moral beliefs out the window...but I doubt it. I render outside Poser (so a raytrace engine will be no good to me), and features that would have appealed to me in Poser 5 have appeared in PPP, but I have decided not to get that. Some of us like to use Poser a bit like a chisel; a tool that you use occaisionally , but if you loose it you can always delve into your toolbox for something else, and I suspect that they will be type of customer that CL loose. For others Poser is their toolbox and can not do without it, and I have a funny feeling that they are the customers that CL will keep. Whoooops...sorry folks that post went on a bit too long. At least you woke me up DraX :O) Kindest Regards, Martin
