Yeah, i was afraid of that... I never thought ild say this, but if its turning towards a new kindergarten such as DeviantArt, im more than likely out of here. Weve already lost the easy navigation, as well as the overall pleasant look in favor for some misfit design dated 1996. And the over-using of smilies has already begun, and trust me, this is only the beginning. Now all we really need is for the "WTFOMGBBQNASDAQPWNREFL d00d u r lyek teh soooo hXc!!!!11lolzomg it roxorzz!!!! hehehe"-people to arrive, and the transition is complete... :(

Quote "We completely understand how you feel about the standardized forum colors. The look of the new forums will take some getting used to." End Quote Does this mean what think it does, that we will have to live with this permanently?

By every standard in terms of speed, navigation and choice of colors. (white background is a really bad choice when showing imagery) And no, you shouldnt copy what everybody else is doing, but you can do better than this. Much better in every aspect. Im just going to repeat what ive said, its going DeviantArt, and thats not a good thing. As for time, its irrelevant since the layout is obviously here to stay(as stated above by Stacey)

Stacey, This is still all new, so i dont want to give you guys hard time, but if this is how Renderosity will look like from now on, im afraid i wont be around much longer. Youve really turned the clock back 10 years with the layout design. As for features, well honestly, they lack. As it looks to me, youre actually turning Renderosity more into DeviantArt-style, where toys such as avatars and smilies have a prominent role, while artwork comes second. With the new system the former easy navigation is getting screwed up, and the whole site has become slow as glue even on broadband. I really urge the staff to take a close look at CGtalk forums, and a setup that is by far more optimized for graphics purposes than what were witnessing here. Theyve set a standard of what it should look like.

Thread: Remind me...what is GOOD about this new PHP forum? | Forum: Community Center
Well, this thing is still fresh, so im all for giving the guys some slack, but so far im afraid im not exactly impressed, nor would i say that the forums are more interesting now. Its painfully slow(and im on broadband), and far to messy with the layout beeing used. Unfortunatly this entire thing are starting to look like DeviantArt, and that is certainly NOT a good thing at all. Eye candy such as avatars, smilies etc are ok, but not on the expense of the overall page performance. Reduce the size of the avatars to max 50x50 and disable smilies(which are already beeing extremely overused). AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, please change the page layout and colors to something that looks like 2006. Please staff, take a REALLY close look at CGtalk forums, and see what the tools are capable of. You really need to pick up a few things from Leonard & Co.

Wouldnt be happy about it, but i could actually see myself installing FF just for Renderosity purposes. But jokes aside, they really need to create a far better layout than this. Kinda looks like the early days of internet. :)

Well...this was different. Who came up with the nice extremely bright white non-changable background... ...and why arent [*]-tags working...? :(

Actually, i havent had much time playing with the program yet. I merely spent about 15 minutes on it so far. The image is one taken from the PDF, so i cant take any credit for it. But i see that some of you are already producing great stuff with it. :)

Wasnt this the same exhibition where they had a corpse sliced up in very thin pieces placed in a long row? Think i saw something about it on Discovery Channel. Not sure i would call it art though, but thats just me i guess. :)
