I agree. GeForce sucks when it comes to CG. I currently use a GeForce 2 Titanium with 128 megs of DDR. Its apparently not enough... Dont know about the "new" Ti4600 though... Well, i know what tops my wishlist, and its not a GeForce. :)

Models, textures and props works fine, except for the trans maps and bump maps. You will have to import them separatly in bryce material lab.

They could be... :) Scientists claim that advanced civilizations have existed before. Who knows how advanced...

Thread: July Challenge Entry - Atlantis 2.0 | Forum: Bryce
I have a new pc in parts. Just havent had the time to put it together. My vacation started today though... :) The system im using now, is a 1 Ghz Athlon with 512 MB RAM. The new one is a 2.26 Ghz P4, with 512 MB RDRAM. (Have ordered another 512 megs, which should arrive sometime this week...i hope!) Should do the trick when it comes to rendering... But its not the CPU thats the problem. Its my graphic card. When it takes about 10-15 minutes just to select an object, and then another 4-5 minutes to rotate the thing 90 degrees, its just not fun to work with a piece. Since postwork wasnt allowed... But its not very often i do something with this many objects. My usual br-files are around 150-250 megs.

I was thinking of some DOF at first, set at 0,1-0,2. Not sure if soft shadows would render faster but i could try... Dont know how the machine would react though. If you hear a distant explosion, somewhere from the north, that was just me, making an attempt of premium rendering... :)

Vasquez - Youre absolutely right! 4 of the houses to the left (the ones in the back) and those "pole-things" are from "Lifeforms". The rest is all new though, but i just thaught the enviroment from Lifeforms would suit perfectly for this.

Thread: Inspirations? | Forum: Bryce
I know about the "dry periods". Having those as well. Since im a scifi-fanatic, i get much inspiration from movies. A certain building, a landscape or a great angle can boost my creativity. Playing around with bryce, can also give me new ideas. Ideas just popping up happens... And of course, to be a part of this commuity also helps :)

Not sure if youve tried this, but the lattice you want to "dig" in, must be set as positive.

Thread: How to make a rug, posters in bryce? | Forum: Bryce
For the posters, you can also import 2D pic objects. Click on the little golden guy at the top (in Bryce), and select a picture for the poster. Press apply! Then press the small "M" right next to the object and make sure the transparency is off. Just place the object as close to a wall as possible. You can also apply a transmap for the poster, if you want it to have a certain shape. Let me know, and ill send you some screenshots. And as nu-be said, welcome!
