phil, thank you for responding.
would morph manager do the same thing as "zeroing all translations?"
i've gotten my stuff to load properly now (didn't notice that conforming figure was not to dropped to floor! who floats!?) so now it's just a matter of getting it all to go. one thing i am noticing right away is that the conforming clothing is tearing at the joint/seams between my groupings...is this a welding issue and if so, where do i correct it (upon import, export???)
thanks so much

yes, that's it fazzel. i'm at work so i'm asking without looking in uv mapper but there is an obvious "assign to" button or something there? and should i get rid of any mtl files that are there just in case before i remap the doo-dad obj, and when i do assign the map to the doo-dad will poser create a mtl file at that point, when the doo-dad is imported into poser?
doo-dad, doo-dad, doo-dad all day looooooooooong!

well let me ask, how do you load uv's into poser...because i think that where the problem is. i'm using uv mapper pro so i can map just fine...can't figure out how to load the damn things so that the object can find them!
yesterday or 2 days ago i accidentally made this work......ahhhh, i'm now realizing that i did pre-map it in another program. that's why the map turned out fine...but in this other obj/prop i used a file that had not been mapped. so that's what happened.
i know i looked inside poser for importing uv's but i'm not finding anything obvious. can you tell me how to do this?
thanks

Thread: how the heck do i download what i paid for??? | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Quote - You can also get there by clicking My Account and then on the order number.

yes, i've done that and it takes me to a page that shows the status as: paid, unshipped (that means to me they got my money) ...then under the ship method heading it has nothing. then below that it tells me what i purchased and that the download is pending (???).
i thought that the 24hr pending notice on items purchased had to do with renderosity receiving it's monies for services rendered, and with receipt of those monies then the services would be, well... rendered.
i think i forgot my decoder ring at work today. :P

Thread: importing obj but keeping multi groupings...? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
ahhh i figured it out.
import obj with "groupings"...then go into the setup room and create groups (auto group)...and then "assign material" to each group, thus giving it it's own map...so it will read as one obj file in poser (forearm armour) but you will be able to assign maps to the following groups that you created and assigned materials to. (buckles, leather, strap, metal)
i'm making some cool armour, it's my first attempt here but all is coming along nice...slow and steady, save aften.

Thread: importing obj but keeping multi groupings...? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
thanks for responding. i'm using 3ds max. i know it can be done because i have an imported obj file in poser that will let me access 2 different groupings in that obj file, in the material room. understand? in max i export the obj file and export with groupings (should be able to access groupings in poser), in poser i import w/ groups and should be able to access each group within the obj import.
i don't want to import a buckle.obj, and then a strap.obj, and then a forearm.obj into poser...i should be able to import to poser 1 obj file that will still have the internal groupings available for use in the material room.
