The sarong is one of the best pieces of Mike's clothing I've ever seen. It actually allows you to leave the genetalia turned on, so a sheer effect doesn't make him look sexless. It also allows for a lot better posing of the crotch, for a more form-fitting look. This is the first piece of male clothing I've seen that actually does that. I wish there were a regular pair of pants and a body suit for Mike that did the same. Has anyone seen one anywhere?
Thread: Anyone else having trouble installing the Daz Beard? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
OK. I had the same trouble and called Daz. The installers are loaded into the GeometriesDAZHairMilMan, after you run the pre-installer you downloaded from the Beard page. Go to this folder and run them. They're names ps_ac306_part2 and ps_ac306_part3. Everything should work fine then. The character for the beard winds up in Daz Hair, while the poses are in librariesPoseMAT Millennium Beard. It is worth it though. The beards look pretty darn good. We need some more detailed textures though (hint hint). Daz really dropped the ball on the install on this one though. The instructions don't explain it all.
Thread: Vue d'Esprit 4.0 from E-on Software now available... | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
I've got Vue and Bryce, and Vue wins hands down. The renders are sharp, Poser .pz3 files import fully mapped, and render time is faster. And the price here can't be beat. I just hope it'll import Poser 5 files with the same ease.
Thread: What would you do for Poser 5 ??????? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I started to list the things I'd do for Poser 5, then I checked the TOS here, and discovered I could get into real trouble.... hmmmm.... I'd offer my firstborn son (daughters are too precious), but the chances of ME having one are pretty slim... decisions, decisions...
Thread: Coming this week at Daz... | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
These are beautiful! But I agree, we need matching stuff for Mike. A really good toga would be great!
Thread: JeanZ for Mike Preview | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
When??! I've been using a transmap and texture for the same effect, and its just not good enough! I love the JeanZ for Vicky, but I REALLY want them for Mike! Looks good! I've been trying to hold off buying anything until Poser 5, but this one will definitly be an exception.

Wow! Phil just gave us the world's fastest tutorial! Good job! I think I finally understand this now. Thanks Phil!

I'd love to see some nude full body renders of the new figures in Poser 5. The faces are nice, and the hair will be great after a few of our more expert texturers get a little more time to work on it. More morphs for Posette and the Dork? Better posing control? The face poses are nice, and so much better than Poser 4, but they don't give any idea on posing, just texturing and renders. Of course, it doesn't really matter. I'll still be buying it the first day with an overnight delivery.
Thread: Clothes for mi preschool boy | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
PoserWorld does have some preschool boy clothing, and Daz has a clothing pack for the Millenium boys. Also the preschool girl clothing will fit the boys, and just change the texture and transmaps for a more male look.
Thread: Getting VERY annoying now (renders) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Memory can be the problem, or it can be even simpler. Sometimes Poser goes hunting for files, and when it can't find them, just gets lost. Try doing everything in stages. First load Stephanie with no texture and pose her. Then render. If there are no problems, apply the hair, and re-render. If there are problems here. Try another hair model with a very simple texture. If there are still no problems, apply a texture to her Steph. I bet thats when the problem shows up. If it does, try a different texture or remove the bump map (they take a lot of memory sometimes). I usually convert any high res texture (2000X2000 or more) to a lower res texture (1000X1000 or even 500X500) for easier handling, and only apply the high res for the final render. Also, try clearing out the memory cache and defragging your hard drive. If the swap file is dynamic and you've got a badly fragmented hard drive, it winds up writing bits of the temp files all over your drive and getting lost. Hope this helps.
Thread: Poser 5 in Computer Graphics World | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just looked at the Curious Labs website. Still no release date, but they have set the prices. "Upgrades to Poser 5 from previous versions of Poser are available at the following US$ prices direct from the Curious Labs web store. Purchase of the Poser 5 upgrade will require a valid Poser serial number, and you may only purchase one upgrade serial number. $209 - Poser 1, 2, 3 Mac or Win to Poser 5 Win $179 - Poser 4 Mac or Win to Poser 5 Win $129 - Poser 4 + Pro Pack Mac or Win to Poser 5 Win" For me, this is good news. I can afford the $179 upgrade. Now, can I just be patient....

OK, lets see, figure $150 to $200 for the upgrade... $200 for more memory, no, lets just get a new machine, $2500. Then the new figures and textures everyone will come out with to take advantage fo the new technology...say another $1000. OK, how many unemployment checks is that?...hmmm... I can call Pop for cash if I whine... Ok, OK! Can you get it out tomorrow? Please? I'll look for a job, heck, I'll look for two! I'll be a better person, I swear it! Want my dog? He's a good dog... This looks truly neat! I hope it'll read nested directories so I can better organize all the stuff I've got. If it saves in .pz3 format, I'll give you my firstborn. One last word. Please don't be another Microsquish. I'd rather wait for a fairly bug free product, than have 14 updates. You guys ROCK! The community needed this. I know we all whine a lot, but we really appreciate the quality and the work you do, and we'll definitly reward you with lots of sales. Every time I show some of my art to a friend, they ask where I got the software.
