I figured the first step would be to create Carrara's version of a Poser Material Zone; so I'm lurking just to hear more.
But have you considered exporting an .OBJ of the model; importing into the free UV Mapper application, and exporting a UV Map? You could bring the UV into Photoshop an paint on whatever you want.

*" Don't be frightened of text editing a pz2, it's fun...No, really it is!"
*Excellent advise, I really need encouragement like this; thank you LesBentley, you're a Champ! You were whom originally broke my my train of thought, about this; some months ago, but I could'nt find the thread, and was hoping you'd happen by!
I have this thread bookmarked, in a folder titled ledbentley; and will be getting back to this soon. I'm not really ready to test, just yet, as I wo'nt have much practice; but soon this will change, and hopefully we'll be able to stay on top of it.
Thanks again!

The Face Room is a lot of work. The biggest problem is that you only get one sitting to get it done; there is no way to save your progress and then pick up on it later. So, it's a lot of practice; and you really need to be quick too.

Thanks!
That's what I'm doing. How do you get the Context Menu to go away? I usually click on the top of the preview window, where the name of the file is.
But this is just an extra step, there should be another way?

But what I'm asking does'nt have anything to do with wanting to switch rooms, nor create alternate GUI dots, or set a preferrance; I do'nt think?
Right now I'm working with 4 cameras at once(see attached picture,) because I'm developing a new outfit for V3, from Photoshop. Currently the AUX_CAMERA 4 Port is Selected. But Lets say I want to render the Main Camera port. How do I just switch ports, without changing the selection of the Parameters Palette?

Thanks again pjz99!
I wonder why Poser used to add the Hip(in relation to the Body,) but not then the Body?

To just apply a simple image to the Background node, I would click Display > Clear Background Picture. Then File > Import > Background Pcture... And then make sure Display > Show Background Picture is checked.
If it came to adding a prop to apply the background image, I would highly recommend as sphere prop; with it's normals reversed, centered, scaled 10 about 1000%. This would constitute a Sky Dome. You would be surprised how advanced Mapping is to accommodate the inside of sphere:
Sky Domes are how Bryce and Vue work, and why reflections become especially easy:

Thanks pjz99!
I think I'd like a way to remove both the Hip's and the Body's Transition? Most all my scenes are still just character studies; they contain only one figure, at the center of the universe. Soon I will be populating scenes with several figures. The first thing I will do is space the figures out evenly. Then I'll apply a pose to each; when I do I will want the figures to stay spaced evenly, I wo'nt want them move, just change pose.

O.K. Thanks Guys! It was nice to hear it from each of you, which helped it sink in this time! This was another oldie, but a goody; I just never committed to memory properly. Spring must be in the air, I've had a few of these lately.
I'm still using P6; so I'll remember the Hip and the Body are just two different things, that what's selected does'nt matter, and that Hip position always does get added.
In Poser 7, does Hip get remembered when you choose to save the Body Transition? Would anyone care to elaborate on how that does, or does not, become redundant?
Thread: How to save a morph | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The question is if you want to save morphs, so you can add all of the right dials to a Blank.CR2(Figure;) or of you just want a file that will turn all the dials, of all the morphs already in a figure, to specific values.
To add all the right dials to a Figure.CR2, that does'nt have the dials; you would need a program called Injection Pose Builder, availalble at Daz3d.com. It's like $30, but if your a Platinum Club Member($25?) then it's $1.99; and then you get a similar discount on bunch of other DAZ stuff, as well as bunch of free stuff(like M2)
To just record all of the values, of existing dials, you want t create a MOR .PZ2(Pose File.) You'll need to research the forum for applications which will create one, or how to hand code one. Posercan almost make a MOR file for itself; and help you get around not having one. When you have the dials all spun save a file int he Pose library; and when Poser asks you if you want to "Include morph channels," click yes. Now whenever you apply this Pose Library .PZ2 all of the dials you had in the figure, when you saved the .PZ2, will take on the value recorded in the .PZ2. The problem is that this will also change the figures pose to(Joint Rotations, Transitions, Etc.) So to get around this just save another Pose Library file, of the Pose you really want; but, this time, click no when it asks you if you want to include morph channels. Now, can apply the first Pose.PZ2, to set the dials; and then the second Pose.PZ2 to set the pose. BTW - If Transition gives you a problem(where the figure is in the scene before and after you save a .pz2) see here. It has something to do with having the Hip selected when you save or apply a .PZ2; but I've got it wrong, so I wrote a thread and asked.
