Ok, so what happened. I know it's an alpha so I'm not at all concerned about this. I'd definitely like to know if other's have tried this with similar results. I saved the figure in Studio's .daz format and cleared the scene than opened it. As you can see some of the morphs remain but most of them are gone or changed. Interesting if nothing else. Again standard Daz V3 morphs nothing custom applied by me.

here's a head shot. I'm posting this because I'll show you next what happens after I save this as a .daz file. One thing I notice is the eyes and teeth are very bright compared to how they are in Poser. This appears to be a consitent thing with other figures I import.

Ok here she is. How I finally rangle the camera view to get the figure to stop distorting I can't really explain too well. It's like I mess with the icons that move the camera until the figure is small in the scene and stops distorting so bad, then I use the camera move tools that appear at the top of the main view window and dink with it till I can get the figure to display normally. I haven't tested this enough to say it happens with every imported file, so I can't say if this happens every time. I can't believe this is a video card issue since I have an excellent one. Once I get the figure dialed in the distortion seems to stop and not come back.

Another view, as you can see there's extreme distortion, I move the camera around and it changes with how I move it. Anybody else getting this to happen.

I'll start with the weirdness. This is V3 with only Daz morphs applied. You'll see what it is in the next couple images. So far I've imported only simple pz3's with a nude figure or nude figure with hair and some lights. I have no idea why this looks like this. I can get the camera view to get to normal later as you'll see.

I'm playing a little with DS now. Going to a friends but when I come back I'm going to post some more test shots here or in a new thread. My first comment is I really like the spot render function. That alone is worth it when Studio gets further along in it's development. What a great idea. Another thing I'm messing with is rendering to custom size. Just doing some 1600X1200 renders. You can only get a portion of the scene to render but it's cool. just move the face or figure up to the left of your window and give it a shot. I'll be baaack and show some stuff later today.

Since I posed the question I did have some time to try out a few morph transfers. Like most have said some work and some don't. I consider any that do an extra bonus. With the $10 coupon that was just given by Daz I got all the morphs for next to nothing with my pc discount. Steph seems like a solid figure and it's great to get another character to play with. Her files seem to be alot less bulky than V3. The morphs injected very quickly in comparison. Let's hope she has a great future ahead of her with lots of add-ons coming in the weeks and months ahead. Hope everyone has a great Christmas and New Year's!

As a PC member I'm glad to be able to test it first (of course) and I agree with what maclean says. It makes sense to slowly open the flood gates instead of letting it rip all at once. I've got the utmost confidence In Daz and they haven't let me down yet in service and the all important customer support! Something I lost faith in long ago with the other supplier of Poser related product.

I think it's a good thing. I don't see any reason why a person would need to upload any more than 365 images in a year. I think the quality of the images will improve because of this also. I know if I was fast enuf to want to upload 3 a day I'd still pick the best one. Also, there are other "artist" sites that are way more restrictive in terms of the quality of your images and what kind of hoops you have to jump thru to even be considered for posting, so I think things will work out fine, and yes it will be nice if my work doesn't end up on page 27 in less than a day because of the limit.
