I bought V4 esprit just to upgrade to V5E cheaper. Now I can upgrade to V5I and only loose about $50 in the whole thing, otherwise my path through the Eon upgrade system has been very cost effective.

Oh yes I run all my stuff through Poser since that is where all the cool models are. Import directly as a .pz3 and your life should be good.
Thread: Insane render times in V5I | Forum: Vue
A note about GI vrs. GR for poser figures. Someone told me that GR is so much better for interiors on skin tones etc. Forget that, it is true but so much less system time to cheat. Render your indoor scene in GI, then adjust your brightness contrast and color balance in post. Nearly the same results as was mentioned above and always remember the fine points of color tone can be very easily tweeked in post. Render times? You wanna try something nuts - load the As Shamin short hair on a poser figure and load her up. Your time counter will read the numeric equivilant of "no problem dude" till that magic line HITS THE HAIR, then it will say "the world will run out of your electric supply before the render is finished" Seriously I went to sleep with the counter reading 2 hours and woke up with it reading 89 or so hours. Now I keep that hair in Poser.
Thread: Vue5in Does not like Poser to much. | Forum: Vue
I am hoping Vue5I handles them as well as V5E. I have been inserting as many as 9 fully textured poser figures with clothes (many without) for the last 6 months very happily. The system runs right at the edge but if I keep my eye on the physical memory availible (which I run ALL THE TIME on a second monitor) I am OK. If V5I does not at least allow this level of performance I will be unhappy. V5I arrives tomorrow. I have 2Gig RAM upgrade from 1 Gig just so that I could load the extra Posers - and browse the forums while rendering. If someone surfing this thread thinks I might be unhappy please let me know.

ooo yeah - I would be concerned about that, depending on where you are ordering from and what kind of channels the money needs to travel. I ordered exactly 6 days ago on line using paypal and my package is now in the hands of UPS. I have a feeling all these on line orders are sped up by paypal since the money is directly in their accounts with no risk, and I always order express delivers in terms of UPS or whatever else they. I hope yours is on its way soon.

HMMM I ran the uncompress script and checked the .obj files box when I did, then in my P6 general prefferences I unchecked the save files boxes use file compression and use external binary morph targets but still no human figure. I was trying to import the winter queen and I got some props and hair that shows in the Vue preview but not the render. Very strange and a bit disturbing that we are getting different results there must be some difference in that uncompress move.

I did a test where I put Jessi and a V3 in a P6 file and tried to load them into Vue 5E and V3 came through but not Jessi she was just gone. I will have to look for this Python script that uncompresses the libraries since I have done the other things that you mention. Where is this python script? I would like to use the P6 items in Vue. Thanks.

My delivery date is March 28th. Yesterday I got the email saying it was preparing for shipment and today I got one that said it shipped but no tracking number. However, the reality is ahead of the emails and on their site I could log in and find out that it is in the first part of its transit from Oregon to the East Coast. I paid for 2nd day air but with the holiday I assume that means a bit longer which is fine. All in all considering the challenges they have faced and the volume I assume they are experiencing the wait time on all this is not too bad. Of course nothing beats walking into a retail store and walking out with a product EXCEPT *** downloading that product immediately from the internet. I would never have begun any of this 3d rendering stuff if it had not been for the immediate availibility of a Poser 5 download over the Summer. Instant gratification was the hook that hooked me for sure.

Hmmm, when I try to load a file with Jessi in it, the props open in Vue and Jessi is simply not there, like anything that was a P5 type object goes through and the P6 objects are simply not converted but it sounds like yggdrasil was able to load Jessi (or did you write Jenni) just fine.

Then I'll come over to your house and play with them for you? Thanks for the info, I am thinking that there might be a big difference between Prepared for shipment and shipped. But oh well.
