If you can find a link you can try it at the Web Archive...
www.archive.org
Keep in mind that Web Archive sometimes sticks a few extra bits on zip files-if your archive program won't open it, use the command-line version of zip ( http://www.info-zip.org ) and run 'zip -FF filename' from a command prompt to repair it.

I've never liked that site because I can't find anything. It's not very user friendly at all...
I often can't find items in the Marketplace here that I know the name of-I have to Google it. :glare: Same with RDNA. At CP I can usually find stuff, and to find the freebies there, I click the Free Items button on the home page. DAZ is probably the easiest to navigate overall.

Poser figures almost always come pre-rigged, although not usually with breast bones, but often with breast morph targets.
In the Marketplace here you can find rigging and movement morphs for the DAZ figures that will meet your needs. I think there's one called something like "breast gravity system". and 'natural gravity morphs'.
There is another elsewhere for DAZ V4 called "Natural Bounce"-if you google it you'll find it.
God Luck,
Rod

Don.t be too quick to delete what is there, as there are some neat things. P4 and P5 figures are handy as background figures. Play around a bit first-hard drive space is dirt cheap there days.
I have installed my purchased goodies into external runtimes, as it is easier for me to keep track of what goes with what.
Have Fun!

To get the Service Release 3, go here and enter your Poser serial number where it says "Free Updates"...

There is a content updater on this page as well.

I think the computer is obviously the problem-send it to me and I'll send you mine, which works fine with Poser 7. :tt2:
If you are using Poser7, make sure you have SR3 installed-it cures a multitude of woes.
Poser 7 runs nicely on a P4M 1.6 GHz, laptop so I think your computer can handle it.

Welcome to the Club!
Assuming you installed Mike to your Poser runtime, he should be under Figures in the library palette in a folder called DAZ People. If that folder isn't visible, click on the up-folder button until the only folder is Poser 7(EDIT: oops-you have Poser Pro-I'm not sure what Poser Pro's top level is called-I suppose 'Poser Pro' would be a good bet!), then click on that folder and the needed folder should be there.
You probably will want the morphs eventually, but play around with the figures and learn how the program works before you go buying a lot of stuff, and you will be a more knowledgable consumer.
BTW DAZ has a free figure pack at Download.com with two male and two female figures-search on DAZ. Also be sure to get the Bridge Starter pack for free at DAZ.

Rod

Quote - Yep, WINE is you only real option, but be prepared for glitches & crashes even if you get it working.
But Poser is a PC / MAC application... why not set up a dual boot machine and run it under the OS it was designed for?
Becuse then you can't do anything else whilst using Poser. Mac OSX is Unix anyway, so there's a good likelyhood the universal binary would run under WIne. Poser 7 runs decently under stock Wine, and almost perfectly under patched Wine. However, I haven't yet purchased Poser Pro.
I wish I had known that Cararra 7 ran under Wine, as I couldn't get the beta to work properly, so I didn't upgrade.
DAZ Studio works with the latest version of Virtualbox in a Windows 2000 VM if you turn on 3D Acceleration on the virtual machine settings (at least with an nVidia card).

Joe Public,
That's a beautiful figure! Perhaps you should put her out (RTE encoded, of course!) as an open-source type project like is being done with odf's Antonia. I'm sure she could be put in good order by the group.

Quote - Poser is written mostly in C++, a few parts in plain C. Hardware shading is done using Cg, scripting language is embedded Python and the UI framework is wxWidgets. It also uses a little Objective-C/Cocoa here and there on the Mac.
Wow-no technical reason at all not to have a native Linux version!

TC might run under Darwine, which doesn't require a copy of Windows....

I haven't tried TC2 under Wine, so I can't comment on how well it works.

I have an integrated nVidia 6150 and I get good performance using openGL. I haven't yet installed a recent version of wine on my machine with ATI card.
I should add that DAZ Studio runs quite well in a Windows 2000 VM on the latest version of Virtualbox with 3D acceleration enabled.

I remember paying $180 for a 120 MB drive in 1991. Last year I bought a 1TB for $130, and now I could buy a 1.5 TB for that.
I still have an 8" floppy with MS FORTRAN 80 on it.

"Oh - the manual says that? I have never read the manual - this must be why."Thread: New Computer for Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The issues with the old machine sound like you may have a problem with Windows; not with the computer hardware. I keep Windows in its own 10 GB partition so I can delete it and reinstall from scratch, which I need to do every three years or so. (actually I get it Windows all setup and working, and pull a disk image using partimage and Knoppix; When I want to reinstall, I format the partition and restore it from the saved mage. I then reinstall my apps)
As far as the content goes, if you delete the copy on the old computer when you install it on the new, there should be no issue.
Poser is self-contained-you can copy the Poser 7 directory to the new machine, and it will run fine. If you reinstall SR 3 after moving it, it will install the file asociations and registry entries
Cheers,
Rod.
