If Your Family Tree Doesn't Fork
Many many years ago when I was twenty three,
I got married to a widow who was pretty as could be.
This widow had a grown-up daughter
Who had hair of red.
My father fell in love with her,
And soon the two were wed.
This made my dad my son-in-law
And changed my very life.
My daughter was my mother,
For she was my father's wife.
To complicate the matters worse,
Although it brought me joy,
I soon became the father
Of a bouncing baby boy.
My little baby then became
A brother-in-law to dad.
And so became my uncle,
Though it made me very sad.
For if he was my uncle,
Then that also made him brother
To the widow's grown-up daughter
Who, of course, was my step-mother.
Father's wife then had a son,
Who kept them on the run.
And he became my grandson,
For he was my daughter's son.
My wife is now my mother's mother
And it makes me blue.
Because, although she is my wife,
She's my grandmother too.
If my wife is my grandmother,
Then I am her grandchild.
And every time I think of it,
It simply drives me wild.
For now I have become
The strangest case you ever saw.
As the husband of my grandmother,
I am my own grandpa!
Thread: Utility: Clothes Converter | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I use both with varying results. Let me say that I am not a power user of Clothing Converter, I find the tools a little difficult and more aimed towards modellers. In that respect - ease of use, Wardrobe Wizard is tops.
However, Clothing Converter has quite a few wonderful features - It autoconverts clothing for any Unimesh based figure, including all of the Aeon line without a specific file having to be written for it. (It also autoconverts for Neftis' Elle figure).
Â
It has a batch mode by which you can select several items of clothing for one model and convert it to a number of different figures overnight or while at work (same runtime). Note - Needs an update to support multiple runtimes.
You can retain all clothing morphs after a conversion (figure morphs too if applicable)
You can load morphs into the figure and convert to a morphed figure from within Clothing Converter.
Saves an OBJ and CR2, copies/renames a thumbnail for each conversion
If you have the skill, you can convert from any figure to any other figure (I don't have the skill -- yet)
The downside, for me, is that this product is not aggressively supported.
Wardrobe Wizard on the other hand...
Convert once (a little time consuming), and then you can quickly with the click of a button or two refit to any of the supported figures
You don't have to save the OBJ geometry (saves space on your harddrive)
The smoothing, inflate and deflate tools are great to have in Poser which is usually where you discover there's an issue with the conversion
Autoconversion from non-millenium 3 figures, P6/P5 figures and legacy P4 figures.
It will fit to any morphed state of a supported figure, so it's more useable on the fly
Aggressively and energetically supported by PhilC
The downside is that a script has to be written by PhilC in order to support a figure, so all figures are not supported. Also, clothing morphs do not transfer.
Each has it's drawbacks and neither is perfect, you may have to adjust joint/rotations to suit the new figure and you'll run into some clothing meshes that are just plain resistant to conversion.
Sorry to go on for so long, but hope this helps. Remember, your mileage may vary...

No, once the file is analyzed (convert from) it creates an analysis file with the dat extension in the Wardrobe Wizard folder. In the future once you have the figure you'd like to wear the shirt loaded, load the shirt and chose "Convert to figure" in Wardrobe Wizard.
Hope this helps

Well, there's The Tailor, available at DAZ. Wardrobe Wizard, available at PhilC.net, this one will alter clothing to fit various supported figures. Or, Netherworks sells morph kit packages that will transfer the body morphs to the clothing, not too many figures are supported yet.
Thread: The new store --- 200,000 happy campers ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've read the posts advocating patience, and I guess you have a point. Still, in the real world when a store is renovating they put up "pardon our dust" signs. I guess a lot of the confusion is due to the "here's our new baby, don't you just love him" signs. That kind of indicates that the renovation is complete. On the other hand, this is a hobby for me, I thought it was a business for the RMP, surely the same rules don't apply.

I'm going to chime in here, because the email I sent to the admins seemed to indicate that there is a veritable horde of people who absolutely love this new marketplace-- apparently they don't post in forums.
Tried to post in the Feedback on new marketplace thread, but the forum ate my post.
I don't want to repeat the same issues, though I agree wholeheartedly with all of them, but let me say this. While the concept of the customer always being right seems to be dead and buried these days, this new marketplace violates what should be the new first rule of commerce... Do Not Make it Hard for me to Give you My Money. I spend enough here, all of us do. Don't make it harder than it has to be.
While I'd like to take the high road and say I'll never spend another dime here, that would just be posturing, because certain merchants that I like are RMP exclusive. I did however dump about two-thirds of my wishlist this morning.
Don't know if it's possible, but ideally, I would love to see a wishlist implemented (with all the important information) like Netflix DVD list with the ability to sort on all fields, prioritize your items and a check system to apply the same action to multiple selections. That would have been a baby worth welcoming.

Hogsoft's Correct Reference might work for you. It won't relocate the .obj files, but if you put them where you want them, I believe it will change the reference in the CR2 file.Message edited on: 11/20/2005 11:58

I've been lusting after these boots for a while now... They look piratey to me ;-)Thread: Poser Pet Peeves - | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Might I add -- Inability of most Poser content store to provide any reasonable way of filtering products. If I'm looking for hair, I want a CR2, HR2 or at worse PP2, I don't want to have to wade through dozens and dozens of texture maps. The same is frequently true when looking for clothing. Can't these stores separate the mesh from the map? I'm also not too keen on products I paid good money for suddenly undergoing "restructured" pricing... Or, suddenly becoming free.
