Oi. Nevermind. I'm a bit cranky since I not only currently have no air conditioning (in Texas!), but also the internet was going slow (on broadband!). That doesn't mean I won't still be on the lookout for actual commercial posts in here, but I was obviously wrong on this one :)
Thread: A General Plea for More Hair | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Exactly! How many hair models return a MySQL error? None. C'mon guys, let's get started on more MySQL, PHP, or even VBS error-enhanced hair. Poser shouldn't have to crash on its own ;p Here's my latest WIP, I call it the Perdida Hair. Works in Poser 2/3/4/5/6 and DAZ|Studio.
Thread: Does this displacment on the 2nd skin look ok? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Looks nice, but can we post things like this in Product Showcase, before every noob and their dog start thinking it's ok to show off products/product WIPs here? Not trying to rain on your parade, but Im noticing more of these types of posts by the day, and most of us would prefer that things not get to a point where the mods have to take a stronger hand in the matter. It may not seem like much of a problem when such high-quality work is involved, but that isn't the standard that determines whether or not it belongs in Product Showcase or not.

I think they are related to AdamT of CGTalk. Either that or you've accidentally replaced some of Poser's dll files with Aphex Twin mp3s...Thread: Anybody want to help me out a little? :D | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, the textures actually look decent, but I still stand by my prophecy from a couple of days ago...

So you met a strange lady, and she made you nervous. She took you AND made you breakfast?

His name is Dan Nichols. He has been using Poser for way too long ;-p Glad to see you've gotten this thing out the door after all the work you've put into it :D
Thread: BVH - MoCaps - Bips Products | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
My problem isn't threads like this. If there was a way to ensure that only threads such as this (someone researching what is needed in order to provide a truly useful product), there would be no problem. The problem is when "userLOL999" decides that it's ok to post WIP images of their utter crap newest V3 texture collection, probably with each texture variation (ooh, look, someone learned about the super-duper top-secret BUCKET FILL tool in Photoshop) in its own thread. Obviously, the moderators feel differently, or the thread would have been moved. I was really thinking of the developers forum (it was designed for threads like this one), but I checked it out before posting, and it is DEAD, so I didn't think it would be a good idea to point anyone there.
Thread: ( RANT ) IT'S OFFICIAL.. SHADE7 LE SUX!!!!!!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That it is mainly aimed at a Japanese market is no reason for Shade to be so obtuse. I have tried Metasequoia on several occasions, and its interface is very intuitive. In fact, I use another Japanese 3d program, MarbleCLAY, on a regular basis, because it has the most intuitive modeling workflow I have ever used. The only reason I don't use Metasequoia is that it isn't available for purchase outside of Japan.
Thread: BVH - MoCaps - Bips Products | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
" I wanted to know what kind of BVH file or MoCaps would you like to see in the Market." Not to rain on your parade, since BVH files in general, and good BVH files specifically, are hard to find, especially for Poser, but this should have been posted in the Product Showcase Forum, since it a solicitation for ideas for future commercial products.

Thread: Feedback on Miki (new Poser 6 character from Curious Labs) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've made a couple of "I'll pass" comments about Miki, not because I undervalue the amount of work that went into her, but because whoever rigged her hobbled this excellent quality by dividing the mesh old-school (Poser 4) style. I've tried getting decent bends from Jessi, but that ain't happening without redividing the mesh, and I don't personally use Jessi enough to put that much effort into such an undertaking. Miki, on the other hand, I could see myself using regularly, but with a Jessi-like polygon count, that mesh redivision would be even more daunting. Please, eFrontier (as well as any other current/potential providers of new, high-quality content), encourage your talented figure modelers to divide the mesh "millenium"-style. I use "millenium" with quotes, since this style of mesh division was invented by Steven Rindone, AKA Torino, prior to DAZ's use of it. I just don't understand why such a useful innovation would be completely dismissed when creating such otherwise excellent new characters.
Thread: Miki Face Room fix | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
byAnton: Yes, I am aware of that. If I bought Miki as is, I would need to do that myself in order to get the use of her that I want. My reason for asking eFrontier to do this is that I would think that the creator most likely used subdivision surface modeling, and would therefor have access to a pre-existing, lower-resolution mesh. If that is not the case, then I would not expect them to create a lower resolution version from scratch unless there was overwhelming demand. Either way, I'm still hammering away on my own model.
