Thread: Could Be Trouble ? ? ? | Forum: Vue
'Morning all . . . 8^) Thanks to all for your comments. Like I stated in my 1st post, I was just expermenting with the "Boolean Difference" again, decided to give the vortex effect a try, & it seemed to come out pretty good. So at that time I decided to try & do something with it. Actually, a person could do something really nice in this area, if only Vue's "Boolean Difference" would work with an imported object. You could create a great vortex shape with twists & bends using modeling software, then import it into vue & use it for the boolean difference with a water plane. Oh Well, we'll just have to wait a little longer for a fix, I'm sure. Heheheh. You all have a good one . . . Mark . . . ;^)
Thread: Atmospheres.....this is the coolest thing... | Forum: Vue
'Morning Sharon . . . 8^) A very interesting image you've posted - I'm going to have to give, "images in atmospheres", a try myself, it looks somewhat mysterious & unique. By the way, I've viewed a lot of your work lately & I was wondering, come spring do you plan to hold a large art sale of all the work you've completed during the winter??? I'll be looking forward to more of your images & you have a good one . . . Mark . . . ;^)
Thread: Using Vue 4.03 with "Jungle 3D & Tree Forestry" ? | Forum: Vue
'Morning all . . . 8^) Thank you all for your tips. I kind'a figured that using a black shape over a white background was going to be the way to go, as in standard practice with Vue. I just couldn't understand how Digarts software combined with Painter 6 could produce a file, ( with a mask intact ), for applying to an alpha plane in Bryce without further creation of a separate alpha file? :^O Anyway, again I thank you all for your responses to my question & you all have a good one . . . Mark. ;^)
Thread: Problem With "Glow" On An Alpha Plane . . . | Forum: Vue
'Morning audity . . . I appreciate the "adjust plane proportions" explanation for the alpha plane image. It makes sense now that I think about it. I'm still learning this program. 8^) Thanks & have a good one . . . Mark.

Thread: Problem With "Glow" On An Alpha Plane . . . | Forum: Vue
Thanks guys . . . 8^) I really appreciate the tips & suggestions. Your theory on the glow & alpha plane make a lot of sense, now that I think about it, bloodsong. Yes Varian, your right about post work, I can either take it into PhotoShop or Painter 6, to add more to the glow effects. ;^) Thanks & have a good one . . . Mark.

Hi MikeJ . . . It's funny you've brought this up today, I was just trying it again this morning. No, it still doesn't work. I've tried several times, since owning Vue 4, & Vue 4.03, to do a Boolean difference with an imported object, ( even a very simple object ), but it just won't work. I end up with a very distorted final object. Maybe E-on will have a solution or fix ready for the next patch??? I hope. Heheheh. Have a good one . . . Mark. 8^)
Thread: Renderosity Speed Question ? ? ? | Forum: Vue
'Evening all, Thanks for your responses Eric, Charles & MikeJ, I was seriously beginning to think maybe it was my ISP. Anyway, now I don't feel so alone in this lack of speed issue. Hahaha. 8^) And thanks to you MikeJ, for your in-depth explanation of what is & isn't going on for now. I'll still be lurking around this forum, it seems like the only place where I can enjoy so much from Vue users. Have a good one, all of you . . . Mark. ;^)
Thread: "I dreamt I attended the codfish ball"... -->December Challenge Entry<-- : | Forum: Vue
'Morning Tradivoro . . . 8^) This is truly an original creation for Vue. I like to see other types of images rendered in Vue, due to the wonderful final rendered image quality. When I originally purchased Vue 4, I did so because of the realistic scenery quality produced by Vue, but after experimenting with the renderer, I then started using it for my rendering program of choice for most of my work. I still think that Vue produces Top Quality realistic scenery design & rendering, but I also think that Vue produces some of the best rendered images out there, so I do my modeling in other programs, import the objects into Vue & use it for most of my final renderings. One final item . . . Of all the 3D rendering programs that I have used in the past, Vue seems to handle the largest polygon count, ( well into the millions ), without major slowdown. These kinds of polygon counts in other 3D software programs would bring them down to a crawl, or crash the whole program. A great image, lots of time & work went into this, as I can see by examining all the little details. Thanks for the enjoyment to start my day off with & have a good one . . . Mark. ;^)
Thread: Rain Tutorial . . . Big Question? | Forum: Vue
'Evening all . . . 8^) Thanks for the replies & tips. I did finally try the "Moving the cylinders in front of the camera", thanks Carol, & I really saw some rain drops. Now I've got to try & figure out how to make it look like it's storming outside. I at one time made 5 cylinders in front of the camera, but it still looked like a small shower, instead of a storm. But that's OK, I'll keep playing with it until I get what I want. In other programs I've used in the past, I would create the rain or snow in PhotoShop, a grey scale image, then map it onto a plane & combined with an alpha it would come out pretty good. We'll see what happens & thanks again. Have a good one . . . Mark. ;^)
Thread: Vue 4 ,Render To File Question? | Forum: Vue
'Afternoon all . . . Thanks so much for the informative answers. 8^) I'll download the new .03 patch later this evening & see if that'll fix everything. Have a good one all . . . Mark. ;^)
Thread: Losing things......??? | Forum: Vue
Hi Sacred Rose . . . 8^) I had & still have the same experience, with my copy of Vue 4. I e-mailed Vue's tech support & the return information I recieved was to disable the "Use Open GL" in the Options window. Although after doing so, I still had the same problem??? I also have the problem of, sometimes I'll load a plant or tree & when I look at the list of objects, I have two of the same plant or tree??? That's all the help, if it is any, that I can offer. Good luck & have a good one . . . Mark. ;^)
