I take back about 25% of what I said ;p Got the email, should be able to play with Poser 6 over the weekend :)

Akura, that is a SquareEnix copyrighted character, and he's already stated that he isn't doing clothes.

If I haven't got it by friday, I'm going to have them refund me the extra money I paid for "2-day" shipping. Digital River shipping FAQ Q: If I ordered overnight shipping, when will my package arrive? Poser 6 was released on the 21st, and should have arrived at your facilities by now. A: -crickets chirping- I think that on some level, Curious Labs is afraid to do things too well for some reason. Since they did such a great job with the actual program this time, I guess the shipping had to be FUBAR to equalize everything. Hopefully this is the last time they use Digital Ribbon.

"firefly is a seperate thread of some sort that Poser sends stuff to and communicates to via some sort of messaging system"
I don't know why they would deny this, since it is none other than the Renderman Interface Bytestream that Poser 5/6 uses to communicate with Firefly. Firefly = Tempest = Renderman-compliant renderer.
Thread: Poser 6 rigging enhancements: details please :) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"-Strides and splits without adding ERC and JCM's It is very hard to get perfect deformation on hips" Which is interesting, considering that the new rigging enhancements were given as a reason for the removal of buttock groups from the new figures. I'm going to call up the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to see if making us wait this long to get Poser 6 is against the Geneva convention ;p concentrates even harder on making that truck with boxed product get here faster

You can include a pose file if all you've done is change center/endpoint locations. Just make sure to include a pose that sets it back to default for those who decide they don't know how to put them back manually.
Thread: Poser 6 has some great new features, yet DAZ Figures still reign supreme. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Poser Six has a new rigging enhancements" Would someone please explain what these are? This is the second time someone's given this as a reason why the P6 figures are divided like P4s, yet no further explanation is given. Screenshots of the joint editor would be lovely :) Sorry if I seem agitated, but: (a) I'm waiting on the boxed shipment and (b) my vacation has been cut short by 2 days. So I keep myself sane by coming in here and soaking up all the info I can on P6, which is why short statements without explanations like that don't make me happy.

"...there are upgraded attributes of P6 that have allowed for the bending on figures to be dealt with a bit differently than on previous versions." Ooh, details? Please :) All we poor boxers can do for now is ask questions...

Glad to see you guys are getting on well with DAZ. I'm still curious as to why the old-style slicing was used, but I'll reserve final judgement until I've had a chance to play with the new figures (ordered the boxed version). I'm also happy to see you guys participating in threads more actively :)

Steve, while we have you here (still here?): why are the P6 family sliced like the P4 people? I hope you didn't do this out of fear that DAZ has any kind of trademark/patent/copyright on the "millenium" slicing style. It was developed by an independent user, quite a while before DAZ started using it. I'm fairly certain that there will be resliced versions of the P6 folk done as more people run into the inherent limitations of the archaic bending problems, so might it be possible to head that off at the pass and have the content developers in charge of that portion of content rework them in house?
Thread: Some opinions about Poser 6 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I feel sorry for anyone creating content for J&J. Some of us will definitely be reslicing them ASAP. This will most certainly render said content less than usable. They are very well modelled, so I want to use them, but will not if they are rigged like Poser 4 people (what were the folks at CL thinking?). concentrates more intensely to make box/truck move faster

*"...she's on her way into the MP when she's done."* This really should be in the Product Showcase Forum. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but if we let these kind of posts slip by, more and more merchants will think it's ok.Thread: Poser 6 OpenGL preview question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

It looks like Poser 6 sets it quite low; see attached link.Thread: Curious labs admit bugs in poser6- | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Re: Melen Second, going from the Pose room to the Material room has had some weirdness. Twice I've ended up with the preview window, the materials window and the menu bar, but the background for the screen is transparent (i.e. I can see whatever app is underneath it through the poser interface). Clicking on things does nothing (seems to not be really processing anything I click on). I'll have to take a screenshot the next time it happens, it's hard to explain. This used to bug the heck out of me until I discovered an easy workaround: right-click Poser's taskbar button and restore, and then right-click and maximize. You may have to use a UI dot to put things back where they go, but the UI should be back in usable form.
