Okay, I have to add to what I said yesterday about Injection Morphs in the Pose Library. One thing that is nice, VERY nice about it, is seeing a preview of what the morph is instead of having to spin the dial first just to see what it does. I like that, it's a real time saver. I didn't get much time to play with M3 last night, and I did have some problems with the mesh (more on that later) but I think the Injection Poses weren't as terrible to deal with as I thought they would be. So maybe I'll be changing my mind on that count. But I'm still not liking M3's looks. You can tell M3 is not build from the ground up on male figure. He is bizarre looking in the chest, albeit not nearly as deformed as V3Male's chest is. His face is kinda strange too but I can't really can't tell you way. Maybe it's the brow. His brow is too high for a man, it should be lower. And his chin is bizarre looking to me too. It's so round. His lips are very very strange too now that I think of it. What man has lips like that? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE full lips on a man, but there some kind of a subtle difference in the lips that tells the viewer whether the lips are masculine or feminine. I couldn't explain how, but I know it when I see it. anyhoo, those are my 2 cents for the day. bB

Actually, Mike 2 cost me more to buy. Even without the sale and the PC discount, Mike 3 is still $9 less than what I paid for Mike 2. I'm not in love with Injection Morphs or M3, -- that will take time, sculpting, and my own texture maps, but for me it's all about a better mesh for taking realistic poses instead all these narcissistic pinup poses and blank expressions. I want drama! Feeling! Personality! Maybe M3 has some spunk, we'll see. =) fyi, I'm pleased and impressed with what Daz is doing. And I have to agree with ronstuff, Daz has great prices for 3D. Take a trip to TurboSquid and see for yourself what kind of prices you would pay if it weren't for the Poser and Daz boom. bB

In addition to those already mentioned, I've spotted Poser and/or Poser models in the following places: TV: MTV Movie Awards (Posette hangs with Sean William Scott and Justin Timber-whats-his-name) The Most Extreme (Dork & Co on Animal Planet, amusing animations!) PRINT: FHM (or is it Maxium?) (Dork and/or Michael show up in every issue) USA Today, TIME, and my local newspaper (informational graphics) "Who Are You?" and "How Psychic are You?" (books series with heavy Poser use) bB

I agree with Bonni, who said, "Dismissing a tool or even a whole genre utterly out of hand because of some preconceived and poorly researched prejudices is the height of arrogance, as far as I'm concerned." I remember being attacked not too long ago (1989 to be exact) for using a computer to produce print pieces, and being told, "you're not a real artist if you use a computer." I ignored them of course, because I knew what the future was, and fear and ignorance isn't it. It's funny looking back now at just wrong they were. It's more efficient, and even better, graphic design and typography had an explosion of creativity! Photography, video editing, and animation are also undergoing a Renaissance. And now the frontier has moved to the Internet and 3D. I expect this trend to pick up speed. In a few years, we will all wonder how we got along without online art communities like Renderosity, and easy to use 3D programs like Poser. One more point I would like to make. The purpose of art is not to be a masterpiece, overshadowing all other art ever created. If that were true, nobody would ever make art, it would be too scary. Imagine a 2 year old comparing their humble scribbles to Michael Angelo, Monet, or Marvel Comics? I believe art isn't just about an end product. I believe the process of art is extremely valuable too, and good for the soul. It's about creativity, and creativity has many forms: sometimes it's problem solving; sometimes it's inventing a narrative; sometimes it's "connecting the dots" ; sometimes it's visual, motion, or lyrical poetry, and sometimes it's a way to explore a subject, investigate it, and know it. People who think only "good art" has a right to exist, or people who think computer art is not real art, are fools. Nevermind them, and get back to making art. It'll make you feel better. :) bB

Oooo.. they're separate morphs? Awsome! I was just wondering about that while looking through the Marketplace. I know this is a post on an old thread, but I've looking around for Michael morphs, and this looks like a must have! Question: Is the fox-like cheek fur puffy thing a separate morph too? I hope so. Anubis and Egyptian hounds don't have cheek puff. Do you have an Anubis morph picture handy? Great work while your home with the flu. Ironically enough, that's been my weekend too, so I'm spending quailty time with Poser. lOL.
Thread: What are the Best 3D Programs for making morphs and objects for Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the feedback. This helps alot. I'll check out Wings and Blender. And I'll most likely buy Carrara for now and if the 3D bug bite me hard, I'll work my way up to the Big Boy's Toys. ;0 Thanks again for the tips and the feedback. =) p.s. There's another freebee program for Mac I found out about, MeshWorks. I don't think it will do Poser stuff though. bB

It's freaky looking, huh? The story goes, Duchovny took an elbow in the eye during a high school basketball game and it ruptured his iris. He puts eye drops in his eye to make it close.

Thread: Searching for free hair color chart | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
In the 2D free section, there are Photoshop Swatches for hair colors. While we're talking color, I've been thinking about putting a chart together for realistic skin, hair, and eye colors combinations that match with fashion's color palettes of choice, -- Summer, Winter, Autumn, Spring. Would anyone be interested in "Color Me Beautuful" for Poser People? ;) bB <-- Hue Whore

Duchovny's eyes are actually medium gray-green with a slight darker outer ring and a very light dusting of gold-brown around the iris. He also has a single gold-brown freckle in different positions in each eye. .... Not that I spend my time looking at pictures of "DD" or anything. ;) Just curious, are you using the morphs that come with Mike or are you making your own? I really like how you were able to get the temple line going up from the eyebrows on the lower forehead, the slope of the forehead is perfect , and your work on the ears is neat. I've tried making a Mulder with P4NudeMale and Michael2. Getting the eye color right is very hard to do. I still haven't quite got it, but I figure taking an artistic license is okay. ;) bB
