Thread: OT - Being Forced to Upgrade to Win 8.1 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I had a similar experience Mike, all plain sailing and no data loss. It's more of an upgrade than a full install as I recall.
I was happy when it was done :) I got the start button back :)

In terms of programs running etc EClark? The only option I can think of is not to log off but to switch user instead. I'm not entirely sure it will work but it's the only thing I can think of.
Other than that your desktop, shortcuts and files etc should all be unique to your log on.
Hoep that helps

Thread: Polygon Reduction on V4 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
this is only a guess :) I'm not at home right now. The reduction tool has an option to maintain the mesh by material zone. The lips are a single zone at the moment. You could try using thr grouping tool to give one of the lips a different material zone, then run the reduction tool.
You will end up with a new material zone of course, but it should keep the meshes seperate.

Personally I'd have a look for philc's phi builder. It's an excellent tool that will help you get started, setting up the bones in your model according to your polygon groups. You can then use the setup room to tweak the bones.
It is much easier than creating every bone in the setup room :)

I hope that helps

Thread: Trying to stop dynamic cloth simulation error. Please Help!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
rokket is correct I think. As it's simulating the hand is coming into contact with the skir part and getting confused (it happens a lot).
I suspect that the bullet physics is moving he skirt just enough to cause the collision with the hand/forearm.
I have a slightly different version of rokkets solution, fo when you have a dynamic garment with arms that is causing the problem.
1 Set up simulation as normal
2 Go to 5 frames from the end and take all rotations off of the offending arm (at the top part of her arm so it sticks out like the tpose)
3 Go to last fram and reapply the pose
Moving her arm out of the way for most of the simulation usually avoids it accidentally catching in the mesh.
Rokkets option is better in this case, because your garment has no arms. I only mention it in case you have a similar issue another time with a fuller garment :)

Thread: What Would You Like To See More of in the Poser forum? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There are sadly lots of ways to violate a license, which is a shame.
I was thinking of ways to minimise the possibility, freestuff only maybe. But ended up thinking that it might take most oft he fun out of it :)

How about a forum collaberative image. I don't mean we all work on a single image idea, but we have all render out say the 200x200 png of our choice (png for transparent backgroundness). Then some kind volunteers compile them into a single image.
So everyone gets a spot and we end up with a big old collaberative collage image, a real community project :)
Maybe we have a theme and we do one every month or two.
John.

It might be that you need to run poser as Administrator (right click on Poser shortcut and select Run as Administrator).
The uncompress probably tries to access folders that Windows considers protected, running in Admin mode should get round that.

Quote - Which V4 version are you referring, base V4 or Weightmapped? IIRC, the WM V4 does have incompatibility issues with some morphs, but not all. I do agree with Fugazi1968 about pose limitations as dictated by the Limits On feature.
That's an interesting thought, I don't know how well morphs mix with the wm version. I suspect to too well for JCMs that are created by posing the leg and fixing it. But I've been pleasantly surprised before :)

Quote - How do i turn off Limits and IK in Poser?...
And i use the base V4...not weight mapped.
They are both on the Figure menu on the top of the screen. Use Limits is ticked if turned on, and you can turn off the Inverse Kinematics by selecting the bodypart from the menu. The IK bit is the option above Use Limits
