Think about it this way. Whatever your job is, we will assume that you enjoy it for the most part, you make $xxxx at it. Someone comes along and says "You should go work at this company, you will make $xx." Would you do it? Same job, same amount of hours. just less money. This would go for any job out there, be it doctor, lawyer, grocer, tailor or waiter. I am betting you would say no. This isn't just fun money for a lot of people, this is their living. Those people that have other money sources might be more willing to do a job for $xx or even $x to test but it probably will be a one time thing, unless it does well.
It is also a case of winning people over with goodwill rather than complaints. Just a few thoughts from someone that has been around for a long time, on both sides of the market.

That is not software. It is just an email checking service that I have never gotten an email from.

I think you are installing the some add ons but not the original files. That comes from a Daz Studio install, if I remember correctly.

I will give you a brief history of the more recent figures. Post V4 and M4 there was Genesis. Meant to be a true unimesh, some people had trouble making them work as more distinct genders. Then came Genesis 2. Both of those work in Poser (and I think Carrara) to a certain degree. The Genesis 2 figure had a gender split again. Then came Genesis 3. It followed suit with the gender split.
That being said, each level of Genesis has a Michael and Victoria release. Genesis has Michael 5 and Victoria 5, etc. They are characters derived from the Genesis base.
The mappings vary slightly from genesis level to genesis level with Genesis 3 being the most different from earlier mappings. With each level, bending improves. Genesis 3 has a face rig and more controls for expressions.
I am falling asleep but that might give a basis.
Genesis 3 is the most recent base. It has Michael and Victoria 7 as the main characters, with many siblings.

By that last picture, they would probably have to be two or three, after sub or smoothing or whatever.

Poser update the hair room at least once, soon after it was released and it broke. Not sure what subsequent versions did to it

The previous comments are good and I use DS on a Mac with little issue. Just depends on what you are doing. (I did get a separate Mac for iray with an NVIDIA card but the other Mac works fine for most stuff).
