Thread: HELP ME!! Caught up in "Toon Shading" Craze!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ghelmer, these toon renders are fantastic. Why not write up a tutorial on how you did them? I'm curious (and envious) as heck.

Thread: Problem with INJ poses not loading | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks to all for the suggestions. I've found a workable solution, without reformatting my hard drive. To Acadia: OUCH! First, I created a second user on my computer, called Poser User, that I log in as whenever I want to use Poser. Second, I set McAffee Virus Scan to "disable" at boot up, so it doesn't take up memory. I launch Poser, which takes about a minute to boot. Then I exit Poser and launch it again. This time, Poser starts in about 15 seconds, because all the TSRs are in memory. Voila! No more loading problems. A bit of an inconvenience, I know, but one that I can live with. Hope this helps others as well.

To clarify, the figures would start out nude, and then I would add conforming clothing. I'm not conerned about nude renderings, just accidental glimpses of work in progress where the figure is nude at the beginning from people who don't know the difference between a rendering program and a naughty website.
Thread: ** What's the best user name here? ** | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, back when America Online was known as QuantumLink (or Q-Link to us afficiandos) I went by the moniker of Nosfera II. Since there was already a Nosfiratu on this board, I chose Wampyir as an alternate. It's not a blood-drinking thing, it's a nostalgia and aversion to the sun thing. :)

Thread: Looking for a Lost Freebie | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It was a V2 clothing model, here being used on Stephanie. It was a standalone clothing model; that is to say, not a transmap file for the catsuit or leotard.
Thread: Clothes for She-Freak | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Artalgo, could you be a bit more specific? I tried to use the Tailor like you did, but got nowhere. I loaded the She-Freak first, then the Sleeveless Top. Program said She-Freak had zero morphs. Can you tell us what morph targets have to be moved to the clothing in order for them to work with She-Freak? Appreciate it; thanks!
Thread: Looking for Wingback chair | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I posted a wingback chair model in Free Stuff some time ago...go to freestuff and do a search for "Wampyir." Hope it helps.
Thread: Does it freak anyone else out? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Adding my two cents... It doesn't freak me out to see people comment on new variations of the characters because in most of the cases I've seen on here, the comments aren't really about the characters, they're about the artistic achievement. Comments like the one the original poster talks about always come after someone has posted a picture using Poser figures in a different way. When someone says, "I just knew Vicki had a mean streak in her!" or somesuch, what they're really doing is paying the artist a compliment on a successful (realistic) rendering that demonstrates yet another use for these fabulous models. I don't think it's anthropomorphic, it's simple appreciation for someone's hard work. To me the nice thing about such comments is that they cut both ways. For every comment like "Vicki sure looks mad!", you see an equal number of comments like "Better check your morph settings; Vicki's breasts look a little too big for that blouse". The first is a mark of success (which with this program is usually measured as realism), the second is an indication that some improvement could be made. That's not freaky; that's honest and constructive criticism. It's one of the reasons why I like this site.

Thread: Muscularity Comparison | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Milamber: I think we're both on the same page here...you used the same poses I did for the first pic. Looking at your render, I think the problem with the symmetry isn't a problem at all, but an illusion based on the way the torso of each model is twisted. Look at the waist of each model...the character's left side is straight, but her right side is bent. The difference seems more pronounced on V3 than on Steph...maybe that's why Steph seems to have the better symmetry.
Thread: An informal artist survey... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I do some web design, but I'm not a "professional artist;" that is, I wasn't trained in art and I couldn't draw something on my own to save my skin. My background is in communications and computer science. I like Poser because it lets me play God--you can create any kind of world you like and populate it with realistic people doing anything you want them to. It's more fun, challenging, and satisfying than any other form of computer recreation I can think of. And--it's bred communities like this one, where you can always find good advice and a helping hand if you need it.
