wimvdb is right about certain things. When new morphs are added to Genesis in DAZ Studio, you will need to create a new Genesis CR2 to get the morphs. But, you will not need generate a new CR2 for clothing. I used PP2014 Copy Morphs feature to copy the Genesis morphs to the clothing figure when I use it. And, I only copy the morphs I use. I will have to copy the morphs every time I use the clothing item. I do that now for Victoria 4 clothes. They never come with the morphs I want to use.
In my test, I exported Genesis with High Resolution, per the tutorial. But she still looked jagged. I had to use the PP2014's SubDivision feature to make her look smooth. I think PP2014 did a better job on Genesis subtle features (ear and fingernails) than DSON.
Poke-through has been a long issue with me. I got poke-through with Victoria 4 and Genesis via DSON. In fact, I get pokethrough issues with any figure. I must admit that PP2014's morph brush is easier to use than PP2012's morph brush.
I ran a test recently. I loaded my Genesis CR2 into the scene. I then used DSON to load a pose for Genesis. It posed Genesis CR2 just fine. I also used DSON to load a material for Genesis. It did that OK as well. We may not be able to get rid of DSON, but we can reduce it's annoyances.

You are right, icprncss2. It is a lot of hoops to jump through. I too really wish it automated.
From what I can tell most Poser users have given up on Genesis. There is no really neat feature that is worth going through the hassel setting this all up.

You Lone Ranger. Me Tonto. (Sorry, Couldn't resist)
I leave it on all the time and do not have problems. I had it on with Poser 8, Poser Pro 2010, and Poser Pro 2012. It really speeds up opening and saving of files. It also make MUCH smaller files. My animations and cloth simulations don't have a problem either.
Sadly, I have found that it does not work with Genesis via DSON. I think thats do to how DSON importer works. So when use Genesis I end up with over 100 MB file poser with just her in it. Very annoying.
I always wonder where people ran into the problems. Was it with morphs in character files or props?

I get those occasionally when I use Indirect Lighting. I noticed a few things about them.
I hope my observations will help. I have deleted many renders with this problem.

Unchecking the Reflection_Lite_Mult cut down the amount and the size of holes.
Also, I found if I remove the velvet node from the Alternate_Diffuse node, the remaining holes disappeared.
I want to thank all who responded.
Thank you

Taking vilters advice, I am going through removing nodes and running renders to help isolate materials.
I noticed that I get more holes when I render with 64 bit compared to 32 bit. Also, the holes appear when I render the image at a large. My test render are around 600 px range where my full render size is over 2000px.
bagginsbill, my intent for the shader configuration is to provide a soft glow on the edge of the material that interacts with the light. It glows more when more light falls on it. So far it worked fine in Poser 6, 7, 8, and 2010 without IDL. It would not suprise me that I came up with something overly complex and it is coming back to bite me.
Thanks for info on the Velvet and translucence. I will all know how the tests come out.
hborre, the scene is two infinite lights with the city background and a sky dome with a could texture. One light is a key light that gives shadows and the other is a fill light.
Thanks again for all the help.

The blobs are not specular issues. If I change the background to black the blobs are black. If I save the image as a png and open in Photoshop, it shows nothing in the blobs.

I use External Binary Morphs. I did have a couple problems in Poser 7. However, I have not had a problem in Poser 8 and Poser Pro 2010. Originaly, Victoria 4 was not compatible external binary morphs in Poser 7. But, she works great in Poser 8 and Poser Pro 2010.
I found that saving files take longer when External Binary Morphs are turned off. I had one scene that took nearly five minutes to save with it off. But, it took less than twenty seconds with it on.
Poser files with external binary morphs will get massively large very fast. The scene I mentioned earlier had Victoria 4 with a lot of morphs and 5 conforming items(clothes and hair) with a lot of morphs. The file size without external binary morphs was over 800 megs! With it on, the size was only150 megs.
Like was mentioned above, it will need to be off to transfer the file to an external application. Hard drives are low cost option. However, if you like me and use Poser on a laptop, changing hard drives is not a viable option.
Thank you for letting me ramble on.

I am having the same problem too. I sent an email to renderosity. I hope they respond in time.
