I've been trying to find the Beth's Little'uns that were mentioned without luck. Can anyone help with that?

... and Beths' little'uns have greater support - is that the case? (BTW thanks for the info I'll take a look.)

Thread: animating problem | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The problem in the end was that I had keyframed the "body" rather than the "hip" for my forward motion. Seemed the more logical thing to do. Still wondering what page of the manual that little gem of info is on!! Thanks for getting me onto the right track.
Thread: The value placed on realism in 3D work--what's that about? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Realism is clever - the question too me is whether or not being merely clever is good enough? My guess would be no. My favourite stuff that turns up in the Poser gallery is where people do something unexpected - realism may or may not be relevant. My least favourite Poser gallery stuff are the endless pseudo soft porn ("glamour"!) renders - yawn. Some are very realistic but decidely dull.

I'm a bit confused by the replies but I'll have to try it - I have animations of my walk cycle the character (not the camera) definitely moves forward and there is no path involved. I can save the forward motion as a Poser project but not as a bvh or a library pose - in those 2 cases the forward motion is not recorded. Anyway I'll save and print out the comments and work through it. Thanks guys.

I'll double check but when I move the toe bone manually I don't see an polygons getting left behind. BTW thanks for showing an interest!

I turn IK off but have tried it on as well and I get the same result. The foot moves to the appropriate position but the toe bone remains in alignment with the foot angle instead of bending to the position set in the previously saved pose.

At $795 its pretty expensive, checkout the info at eon re. Vued'Esprit 4 Professional edition. It will export trees etc and is slightly cheaper at $599 - still too expensive!

Thanks PhilC and Little_Dragon - I'll try both suggestions. Another thing I've noticed is that even though I line up the shirt object so that it is in the correct relative position with the character before I go into the setup room when I selct the characters bone structure it is displaced in the y axis by about .005. Don't know what is going on there.

Thanks for the info. I've also found that Accutrans will load the grd files and then export them in various formats. http://www.micromouse.ca/
Thread: How much on Poser "stuff"? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Obviously I'm the freak - I bought Poser 5 on pre. release and have spent nothing on Poser stuff since. What I want to do is create my own stuff and bring it into Poser - I'm getting there bit by bit.

Big kiss on the forehead for Mock. That was it alright. Not something I had ever looked at before - will help me in several other situations with this test figure I am sure. Help like that is what Renderosity is all about. Cheers!

All the polygons ARE grouped to bones - I tried to stress that in my original post. That was the first thing I thought of and I have checked it thoroughly - you just have to trust me on this. To answer one question - yes it does happen with the other arm but not with the legs if you are wondering. Falloff zone? That isn't in the manuals index. In the pdf file I did a search for falloff and that comes up in reference to magnets which I haven't used here. I set this up by copying over an existing bone setup like in the tute on pg 69 of the manual - does that have something to do with it?

Wings 3D is a very cool free program also. There is a forum for it here at renderosity so check that out to find the links. If money is a bit tight just stick with UVMapper - it does fine.
