Thread: Please welcome gebe as the newest co-mod of the Vue forum. | Forum: Vue
Great news Guitta . . . I think with your excellent knowledge of Vue, your fine assistance in helping others in learning the program & your over all patience in general, makes you a perfect moderator for this forum. My congratulations go out to you, & you have a good one . . . Mark . 8^)
Thread: Disgusting ! ! ! | Forum: Vue
Good Morning all . . . 8^) Thank you so much for your very nice comments, on such a disgusting image. After reading your replies, I see the majority here feel there is a need for some spill over on the floor. I was initially going to add just that, then I thought it might be over kill, but I will add some droppings onto the floor before entering it in the "April Challenge". As soon as I have the time to edit the image, I will re-post it, & I think MikeJ is correct, the guy was probably reading up on the Vue 4 tutorials when this occured. Thanks again & you all have a good one . . . Mark . . . ;^) PS: ( )
Thread: Eggs | Forum: Vue
Morning Yves . . . 8^) I think this is a great image! Very realistic looking eggs, all that's needed is some ham, hash browns & orange juice. I really like the pattern in the tiles, & maybe like MikeJ says having a little more tile gloss & reflection would be nice. As far as the bowl goes, I think that you've captured the reflection / refraction of the glass perfectly, very realistic. Well, now that I've seen your image, it reminded me that I had better get into the kitchen & make myself some breakfast. You have a good one . . . Mark. . . . ;^)
Thread: Let There Be Light . . . | Forum: Vue
Morning all . . . 8^) Thanks to all of you for your positive comments on my simple light bulb. . . . ;^) Thank you Guitta . . . I've seen your name in several of the posts lately, ( Gebe ), at the Pixolator forum, but I didn't know for sure if it was you or not I'm glad that I know now, & I want to thank you so much for all that I have learned about Vue from your site. I'm sure that you will be creating some very nice models & images soon with Zbrush. It does have it's limitations & a very steep learning curve, being that it's approach is totally different from any other software, but if you have enough patience you will learn it soon. I've been using ZBrush for over a year now, so if you have any problems or questions please e-mail me & I will be glad to offer you any help that I can. Morning Chas2093 . . . Zbrush does paint & texture on 3D objects in real time, but you can also paint with colors & materials in 2D very similar to Painter. You can also create you own 3D objects in Zbrush real time, very much like working with a chunk of modeling clay, & it has several primitives to work with. It's a pretty neat program, but as I said earlier, it has a very steep learning curve, & It does have some limitations. You can import & export .OBJ & .DXF files at this time. You all have a good one . . . Mark. . . ;^)

Thread: OK, screw Vue4!!!!! I've had it! | Forum: Vue
Afternoon Joe . . .8^) I'm using a 3 year old system & I don't seem to have the problems that your having. My directional view windows refresh in Vue 4.05 does become a little slower as my file size goes up, but I also have it set to display using "opengl", so I'm sure that has something to do with that. I don't have any serious problems moving objects around or zooming in or out. I plan on building a new system soon, but not just for Vue - I use other 3D & 2D graphic software packages that today, with all of the new & powerful features the programmers are implementing in our new software, I really have to do a system update to be able to use all these new features properly. I hope you get your problems sorted out soon, & I hope your job prospect works out also & you have a good one . . . . . Mark.. . . . . ;^) System Specs: PIII 500 / 512 mgs ram / TNT2 Ultra Video Card with 32 mgs of video ram / 16 Gig Hard Drive with 7 Gigs Free / Windows 98SE / DirectX 8.1 / System display set at True Color 32 bit / Screen Size 1024 by 768./ 19 in Nokia Monitor / I do a "Defrag & Scandisk" about every couple of weeks & I try to keep all drivers up to date.
Thread: Photoshop and Deep Paint | Forum: Photoshop
'Evening Tomsde . . . I have & use, Photoshop 5.5 / Painter 6.1 / Deep Paint & also ZBrush. Painter is somewhat more powerful than Deep Paint, but with a price - it's loaded with bugs or maybe I should call them unusual occurrences. I do know that Painter is an extremely difficult program to learn, although I have seen some very nice work created with Painter. I've had Painter 6 since it came out & Painter 5 before that, but to this day, I still don't know much about it, due to the fact that I find it a lot of trouble to try to work with. I also find it very un-intuitive. I have used Deep Paint since it was released, & I find it a lot more user friendly. It seems to me that I can create images quicker & easier than Painter, but, there are some things that Painter can do, that Deep Paint can't. So it's kind of a trade-off. I have also used ZBrush for about a year now, & it is a very powerful program, but, it's in a different category than either of the other two. It's a 3D modeling / 2D painting / & painting (real time) onto 3D models. Everything you do in ZBrush, is real time, so you don't have to wait for any rendering or such. You can also import DXF & OBJ objects created in other programs, & create textures for them, then export the objects & textures back to the program they originally came from. You can edit imported objects in ZBrush. You can paint in 2D, with colors & or textures in ZBrush. There's very little you can't do in ZBrush. But, again there's a steep learning curve. If you give yourself the time it takes to learn ZBrush, you'll have one of the most powerful programs out there, for the money. That's my opinion anyway. As far as the DEMO goes, you get 30 days to use it, then if you want more time to make up your mind, all you have to do is, e-mail Pixologic to get another temporary serial number & your good for another 30 days. Some have repeated this process a number of times, before purchasing the full program. One more thing, the tech help is in my opinion, the best out there, & the users on their forum ( ZBrushCentral ) are a very nice group of friendly people, who if you ask a question, someone will give a reply ASAP. I guess that's about all the information I can give at this time, I hope it will help you in your decision. You could always post a message or question about what your thinking about at ZbrushCentral & see what answers you get there? Either way, I hope you enjoy whichever program you end up buying. Have a good one . . . Mark.

OOOPPPPSSSSS!!! My mistake - Shame On Me . . . :^( I offer my apology to Anahita for misunderstanding his post as I did. It's still early here & I was only half awake - but after your correction, I think I'm 100% awake now. Heheheh. Thanks for setting me straight MikeJ & you have a good one my friend . . . 'Afternoon vibes30 . . . . . 8^) Here's a great place to start, there's more than enough to get you going, and Guitta has a vast knowledge of all versions of Vue. Good luck & have a good one . . . Mark. . . ;^)Thread: Cinema 4D v.5 FREE (possibly UK only?) | Forum: Vue
'Afternoon all . . . 8^) I'm just here for a minute, got to get back to work, but as I was reading this thread I thought, I'll post this link = http://amapi.idevgames.com/ . It's for the Amapi 4.15 FREE DOWNLOAD - Full Functioning, "password included" on the site. I've never used this program & I know nothing about it, but geeezzzz, if it's FREE, why not try it? I hope someone else has used it in the past & can shed some light on the program - have a good one . . . Mark. . . ;^)
Thread: Vue 4.05-02 & importing .cob files . . . . . | Forum: Vue
I just gave some more import file types a try in Vue, & at this time it seems the only file that I can't import is .COB. All the rest imported / excepted a texture or material / & rendered fine. I suppose I can always convert the .COB file to another file type, then import it into Vue 4.05-02. . . ;^) Mark.
Thread: Panoramics with 40.5 ? | Forum: Vue
'Morning Guitta . . . . . 8^) I just gave the "panoramic" render a try in Vue 4.05-2 & it worked fine on my system = Windows 98SE. Hi Sharen . . . . . So far the problems I'm having with the Vue 4.05-02 update patch are = can't import .COB files / having problems using an imported object for Boolean Difference with a native Vue object / some problems with Vue trying to understand links to folders = example: double clicking on a folder from with-in Vue 4.05-02 gives me an error message that I don't have a removable Zip in my "F" drive, but the link for that folder is not to the "F" drive, it's to my hard-drive "C". But, I've noticed that everyone's system does not act in the same way, so for some users the update patch 4.05-02 works fine. Very mysterious - indeed. . . . :^O Anyway you two have a good one . . . Mark. . . . ;^)

'Afternoon Sharon . . . 8^) WoW, what a beautiful & ornate Lamp Post! I would sure like to have this object, but before I download your lamp post, could you please tell me if it is "110 or 220" volts? I only have 110 volts ready for additional fixtures. . . :^O Thank you very much Sharon & you have a good one . . . Mark. . . ;^) PS: ( What 3D modeling program do you use for making these wonderful models? )
Thread: the crows in the "corn"?? | Forum: Vue
'Evening Lyne . . . . . 8^) That's a really nice image, very realistic looking also! But I gotta tell'ya - I was showing a friend of mine the different images that can be created with Vue 4 - & as I was pointing to your crows, one of them critters on the ground tried to take a chunk out of my finger, with his nasty'ol beak, yes, VERY realistic looking! . . . ;^) Have a good evening . . . . . Mark.
