I think I read somewhere that the sponsor link was removed if they didnt get enough referals from that site. Could be wrong though :) John

Hi Wicked :) Hope you have fun with P5 I think it's great, especially the cloth room. I;ve done what I hope is a simple tutorial for the cloth room, you can get it from my site. If you look in the dowloads there is a pair of pants for V3 you can practise with :) Have fun John.Fugazi (without the aid of a safety net)

No problem Jim What I mean is that I made up the figure and all the props I wanted in Poser5, saved it as normal, then imported that into DAZ Studio In the one I left the link for, the figure, bikini, hair and gun were all done in poser, saved as a pz3. Then in DAZ Studio, I used file, import and selected the file I just saved. Then in Studio - File, Export, Obj for Bryce 5 and saved that into a new directory (just to keep things neat). Then in Bryce I imported the OBJ file. It works a treat :) Then I set up the water and rocks (which suck :) ) in Bryce and rendered it there. The link attached was done with the same workflow, the whales (3) the woman with hair, all done and textured in poser5, saved, imported into DS, exported and imported into Bryce, set up the lighting effects and rendered. Oh and I dont think you need Poser5 for that, P4 should work just as well. This link http://www.daz3d.com/support/tutorial/index.php?id=841 is a tute on the DAZ site showing most of the workflow, it just doesnt tell you you can import a pz3 file into studio. I have tried using studio for the whole composing thing but find it too fiddly. One note though, not all the things I have tried importing into studio ffom posr5 have worked, some of them dont comform properly, I;m afriad I just had to work round that by using things that worked :) I hope that helps :) John.Fugazi (without the aid of a safety net)

I use P5 to compose the scene, then save it. Import into Daz Studio and then export it to obj, which then imports into Bryce :) A long way round but it works, as long as you have the Turbo Import thingy from DAZ (check out the attached link. I did this one with that methodology http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=752734&Start=37&Artist=Fugazi1968&ByArtist=Yes Hope that helps John.Fugazi (without the aid of a safety net)

Thread: The best mesh modeling program for Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Shade is pretty good, if for no other reason than it integrates really well with poser. I use it to import poser scenes and render them. I've also mananged to create props in it, even a short skirt for use in the cloth room. Shaders Cafe has some pretty good tutorials for it too. Apart from that I've tried amorphium and it was a pain, a nice program but not great with poser. Zbrush has been fun so far, not sure if I'm going to be able to do clothes in it, but it's good for original figures. Oh and it has a live 3d painting mode which has been great for making textures. Oh I agree with randym on the shade interface it is a bit odd, but once you get the hang of where it puts things its not too bad. Hope you find what you're looking for, John :)

hi manubart hope your getting to grips with poser, I'm building a site at the moment, which has some details on the Cloth Room, and a pair of Combat Pants for V3 available for download. http://www.posernode.co.uk/main.htm have a look in the Tutorials and dowload section. I too only produce static images, but the cloth room is great for that. The clothes hang better in my opinion. John JohnFugazi (without the aid of a safety net)

It's distinctly possible that you have a full copy of poser but don't know where to find the figures. I had a similar experience when I first got poser. Factory settings start you off with Don but you should have a full range of figures available. Click in Windows, then Libraries - this should bring up the libraries bar on the left. Click on Figures then double click on the Poser 5 folder. In there you should find all the people models you get with P5. Before you go buying books you should have a look at the poser help (click on Help, then Poser 5 Help) there is alot of useful stuff in there. John

Hi Patty Victoria is a kind of add on figure to Poser, available from the Daz website http://www.daz3d.com/products/victoria.php She is a popular figure to use, and there is alot of content around for her. Judy is the adult female figure that comes with Poser 5. Personally I use Victoria more than most figures, though I have just got hold of Michael (also available from DAZ). Hope that helps :) John

markdc's tutorial (availabnle in the marketplace) got me started. I also found a simple tutorial over the weekend, can't remember where it was but I posted a link on my forum www.posernode.co.uk/main.htm The tute was for shade, you should be able to give it a go with the demo download from Curious Labs. Nice one, great to see people making dynamic clothes. I normally use max but had a go with shade this weekend, it was a bit strange but pretty easy to get into. Which setting did you use in the cloth room? John
