WOW! Thanks for all the info! You've all saved me days and hours of time. I love this place:-)
Thread: looking for vomit....no, really! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Coooool. A Vomitorium..... with poses even...... looks like some have been there, done that..... and dont forget the props for the stuff that comes out through the nose.:-))) I might have to buy a modeling program just to make this my first project. I'll call it vomit...no, really! I'ld pay ten bucks for it, easy. Maybe even a backyard scene at a party with a frightened dog and a girl/boy-freind with a face pose of surprise looking on. You folks are great! I didn't think I would actually get any response at all. Thanks for the suggestions. I did look at becco's site, (I've bought some of his great splashes) and I did find ernyoka1's homepage(I bought yer awesome kitchen set!) but I guess I'm still in the stage of looking, and/or doing it myself. Yes, chunks would be good. I remembered Daz has a couple of particle generator programs for cheap that may work too, so the quandry is: get that and experiment, maybe try it in anim8or, or buy something more expensive that will help me create it. Argh! My head will be cleared of this hangover in a few hours, and the answer will just come to me, I'm sure. Again thanks!
Thread: looking for internal organ and anatomy parts... | Forum: Poser Technical
Now THIS place looks promising, big wallet or small. I'm stll looking for thier pricing, but, the models look so good. The kids say "wowwwwwww", so that's a good sign, I think. Thanks a lot guys, this is a great start on a search I thought was a dead-end. :-o T.

Yeah, I tried them before too, and they are one of the few that has anything. But Thanks much for trying. It reminded me to go back and get a brain (until I get mine out of hock. HA!) Taliahad PS. any other suggestions folks? I'm still out there a-lookin'.

Thread: P4 Scripts Working in P5? | Forum: Poser Python Scripting
I'm downloading Python 2.2.2 at the moment, ready to get to learning it. From what I gather of this thread, a question arises: Are scripts I write in 2.2.2 backwards compatable with 1.5.2? I know, maybe need different compiling, but OTHER than that? Also, what would be the best set of downloads to get started to learn Python scripting that is P4-5 specific? Thanks!

Thread: Preview of New Product; Golden Dawn Temple | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
Hi Emily, Thanks for such a thoughful answer, and I like the comparisons you made. I certainly don't want to over price it, because of the limited use, and really, the more people that have it and use it, the better, if you know what I mean.;-) I'm not talking about the money I make either. Interesting things happen to a person when working with life at the level of conciousness this represents. Anyway, that 10.00 point was kind of the area I'm thinking too, and actually I may not need to wait for more answers from others to decide that part. But seeing some other responses may help me in other areas as well. Thanks again! Regards, Adam Smith

That's very cool! Thanks evryone and Judith for the offer. I'll go check out the prancing ponies...you just may have a question or 2 coming.
Thread: Blood morph model | Forum: 3D Modeling
Attached Link: http://www.virtualtoybox3d.com
So strange, I was JUST wondering about this very thing. I don't know how yet, since I am just beginning with MAT files and subdivision surfaces(?) in Poser4wProPack, but it seems that if one can animate textures in Propack, and if combining that with MAT and Subdiv Surfaces, it could work. I'm just theorising, or rather 'thinking out loud' based on what I know. Another idea that occured to me is using one of the Poser primitives, like the one-sided square, and animating a texture of blood dripping. Along the same lines would be morphing a transparent sphere with texture inside it, ah, but that one I just don't know. Anyway, I'm bound to keep working on it, since I started thinking about it some time ago, and it only just a couple days ago resurfaced in the stuff I'm doing now, so if anyone else has an idea whether that may work, or wants to help move something in that direction, that would be coool. I use Cararra1 mostly to model with, and love it. It is surprising me all the time with how much power it has hidden within it. It also has a particle generator of sorts, but in THAT program, I was thinking of experimenting with the meta-balls to simulate globs, or drops of various shapes that could grow, drip, or even, like liquid, flow. By the way, I modeled my first product for sale EVER! and it's in the Marketplace---the 6 piece drumset. That was a LOT of fun to model and texture. So if anyone is inspired or triggered along this train of thought....Thread: Sub-dividing Mat poses | Forum: Poser Technical
"...but a good thing to remember about them is once they're applied, they can't be undone." GAWD, I am glad I saw this. I am racking my brains trying to get those to change. Remember the Stocking MAT in the freebies area? ith stocking names in German. Beautiful stuff, but I kept trying to go in and undo it. Even appling another Charcater texture wouldn't work. Guess they were all shopping at the same underwear store.:-))) Even though I just happened by, I just went to the fallen city site. What a cool site! I'll go hang out there some more now.

Excellent! Thanks for your thoroughness, Ron, I do appreciate it. Having an artist as good prolific as you test MY stuff is an honor.:-)
Thread: How do I change Poser's render directory? | Forum: Poser Technical
OK, I found two of them, both my favorite ones because I have them listed on my music site and my 3d site (duh!). Could have spent hours going through my "favorites" on my pc. http://www.bluelifeaudio.com/~pcconfig/ Now, this is mostly a musician's type site for those of us that use our pc to make digital music, but the optimizations will definitely have an amazing effect on your 3d work as well. The other is Tweakhome PC. http://www.tweakhomepc.virtualave.net/ It was my real fav, but it is offline for now, hope it's only temporary. I'ld keep checking that one for awhile. I will post some of the tweaks I've used that I save in case I crashed and burned, and needed to re-tweak. These are notes copied from the TweakPC site. I will put my caveat here though, even though I believe they will work just fine, and that you won't kill your machine permanently by doing these changes, I am not financially responsible for a bad outcome for your computer. Now, onwards... Virtual Memory - Stop Hard Disk trashing Windows 95/98 uses VM (on the slow Hard Disk) dynamically when usable RAM (much faster) is in short supply. Without VM we would, at times, need buckets of RAM when running some programs concurrently. However we need to optimize its use. Help to stop HD trashing by manually setting the size of a static VM Right-click My Computer and then select: Properties Performance Virtual memory Check on Let me specify my own Virtual Memory settings (if possible select a small and fast partition other than the Windows drive) Set both the Maximum & Minimum to about 3 or 2 times the size of your RAM. You can use very little if you have oodles of RAM, and more if short of RAM. Remember: This quantity of Hard Dsik space is now permanenlty allocated to VM (unless you change it again) and wil not be used for normal file storage on the Hard Disk. Remember: The norm is 2 to 3 times the memory size. However, in reality, you can best set it according your own RAM quantity. Setting VM to OFF (or none) can lead to occassional problems as some items, like Screen Savers, automatically use VM. minfilecache=32768 (or do not set it) maxfilecache=98304 All Users: chunksize=2048 namecache=4096 directorycache=96 Caution: With more than 128MB RAM, you should limit MaxFileCache to 70% of total installed physical RAM, and MaxFileCache should not exceed 512MB (524288). The line ConservativeSwapfileUsage=1 (limits paging) helps if RAM >128MB EXAMPLE ONLY - Manually tuning VCache Manually changing VCache is quite straightforward - just check your typing! Backup the file system.ini first (its in the Windows directory) Open System.ini in Notepad [Select Start Run. Type in SYSEDIT (MSCONFIG for Win ME), and click OK. [or try clicking HERE] Scroll down to the [VCache] section of System.ini Enter in, or Edit, these lines in the [VCache] section (numbers are in KBs) Save the file. A reboot is necessary for the changes to take effect. [VCache] minfilecache=8192 (or do not set it at all) maxfilecache=16384 Chunksize=2048 NameCache=4096 DirectoryCache=96 Initially, you can concentrate on the MaxFileCache (and MinFileCache), leaving the other settings for fine-tuning later. Also, when tweaking VCache, you should not try other types of computer tweaks until you have established your best settings for VCache! Focus on one major tweak at a time. Note: Do not enter KB (for KiloBytes) after the numbers (and remember 1MB = 1024). Increase Page Buffers Increasing these 4K buffers can result in substantial gains in hard disk access times. The buffers store frequently repeated data in RAM (faster) so the hard disk (slower) is accessed less frequently. Users report a 5-30% improvement. Use only in conjunction with a permanent Swapfile and 32-bit disk access. This affects all I/O (Input/Output) DMA operations e.g. hard disk buffered reads and writes, sound card FM/wavetable MIDI playback and recording, Use Notepad to view system.ini (or click HERE but backup first). locate the [386Enh] section, and change (or edit in) PageBuffers=32 You can use values of 4, 8, 16, 32. The default is 4 which represents 4 x 4KB Backup system.ini first Now, this last bit here was what I had been looking forward to, but I should have known they were having problems because for weeks I kept trying to get the free tweakware offered at the end of this snippet, and the link stayed dead. Hope this helps, and feel free to email me if you have any questions. Adam Smith, aka Taliahad. [Soon] General BIOS Settings: These are too extensive to deal with on this page. Read Advanced RAM timings in BIOS: Your main memory has a range of operational speeds which is set in the BIOS. Computer suppliers often set the main memory timings on the conservative side as a precaution against occasional errors. Faster RAM will always produce a faster system. Most Home users would gladly risk a slight rise in occasional errors in exchange for a better system. Advanced users can access the BIOS to decrease the Wait setting, and others. A very minor alteration has a large effect. The gain is sometimes very substantial. The friendly shareware utility TweakBIOS is convenient to use, and works with a large variety of BIOS types.
