Looks interesting. Might enter something just for fun, depending on the rules regarding workflow AI. Like the OP said, there are still some things not quite clear. For instance, pure keyword generated images are not allowed due to the possibility of material "scraped from copyright sources". But what about pure or mostly-pure text generated images made with Adobe Firefly? Because that one is not trained on random stuff off the internet but on Adobe licensed stock. Should be legit to use, right? Things like that need to be sorted to (hopefully) avoid confusion.Â

I'm seeing "Sorry!" page too now. Guess they're working on sorting out those details. Best to make sure everything is in proper order before officially announcing.Â

Found it. You are correct, there is no mention of AI anywhere in the rules. Which leads me to infer that whatever the current policy is regarding such usage on site also applies to this contest. But to be safe perhaps one should check with a mod before submitting one's entry, if one has doubts.

How does:
match up with:
That seems just a wee bit contradictory, at least to me. I mean, if it's NOT anonymous, why the part about no signatures?

Agreed. Reported a gambling ad pretending to be art just last night, those and the "escort" or "model" or "rent a yacht/villa/whatever" spammers are usually pretty easy to spot. Not so easy is the piece I just saw posted to the Fan Art gallery. It's a photo, accompanied by a full page of very informative text concerning the design and history of the item depicted, and is probably of interest to people who collect that sort of thing. Whose hobby is fashion. BUT ... it also reads like a very long advertisement and the "artist" happens to be the company that makes the sneakers. Not only that, it is their only post and they just joined here a few days ago. It's a well crafted post, nothing like your typical spam, but I can't help question its status as genuine fan art. You know the old saying "if it quacks like a duck" ...

Ugh, those loud, lewd and rude idiots upstairs are at it again! Already complained to the landlord I couldn't sleep and was late for work on account of their crazy racket -- he just laughed and said I shoulda paid him the extra thousand gold for a properly sound-proofed crypt.

So here I am, minding my own business, when this bat-poo crazy Karen jumps outta nowhere and starts yelling: "Go back to Transylvania!" in my face. Witch, please -- I was born bred and bitten in New York.

Thread: Avoiding name confusion | Forum: Writers
Speaking as someone who shared a name with both my grandmother and a great aunt from a different side of the family, I know all too well how confusing this can be. We solved it by using my middle name, which nobody else in the family had. Perhaps that might work, especially as it has no associations with elder/younger, junior/senior, big/little, etc. that might not quite apply or cause the named-for character to be extra sensitive about any tags or diminutives. Â

A perfect Bloody Mary -- no, wait, I think her name was Delores. At any rate she won't be abusing students any more.

"Nope," :: big fanged grin while cuffing perp:: "just Pastafarian."

I just love Halloween -- it's the one night of the year my neighbours don't run screaming about like raving loons if I happen to forget about glamour spells while taking the pups out for walkies in the park. Sheesh, you'd think they'd never seen hell hounds before!
