Sorry, folks, gotta disagree. If AllAmericanBoy says it's art, then who are any of us to say otherwise? After all the countless threads on what is and is not art and the most bizarre images defended as "art", putting text on a background is just as valid a means of artistic expression as a stock Vicky in a stock pose with a stock texture (which, incidently, takes about the same amount of time to generate as PunkClown's sample above). So if we're gonna start pulling things for the amount of time it took to do them, then we better start heavily editing the galleries.

That's a pretty broad category: cartoonish stuff could be done with the Sketch render function, while anime is more built around the kinds of things one can find at Posermania. Can you narrow the request down a little?

OPen a default document window and delete whatever character you have in it. Then go to file -> import and import the Poser document you wanted.

And Happy Jean-Baptiste from Calgary!
Thanks for the texture! BTW: you'd be surprised how many folks out this way wish they could vote for Ducette next week, :)

I rarely use Mike or Vicky in my work and only on occasion have been stumped about how to create a particular character. But there's a ton of stuff out there, as folks have already mentioned, and add into that places like www.animotions.com, where, with a little ingenuity, you can take those comic book characters apart and get all sorts of cool things. That's where I found an excellent motorcycle jacket for the P4guy (from a model that was originally a P3, BTW). It's also possible to take a character whose costume is heavily prop-based and transfer those props to a P4 -- one of my favourite characters, a policeman, was done this way, and I've been told it's even better than the currently available Michael version.

They say Bryce is slower - but is it any good as a renderer otherwise? Bryce's lighting controls are nearly unequalled, IMHO. That has always been its strength. I use Bryce extensively for my set design renders (http://hometown.aol.com/atthisstage), and I'm always amazed at the results. Yes, it's a slow render, but worth it.

I'm talking of stills of course, as you can't animate with Bryce Uhm, sorry, but yes you can. Animation has been part of Bryce since version 3. I use it extensively in my work. There's even a rather famous (within Bryce circles) film called "Interplanetary Traveller" that first demonstrated Bryce's animation capabilities.

>> *John (formerly known as Jon ;-)* Oops. My bad. Apologies. For what it's worth, I tried a small experiment this afternoon with the Paladin character, and it pretty well worked: open the figure and set it in a default pose position. Then, delete the hair prop. Click on the body and open the figure library for Ichiro and double-click to replace the one body with another, making sure you click the "keep props attached" radio button. With a little tweaking, all of the paladin armour will work quite nicely on him. There's an image of the experiment coming later tonight in the PoserPros gallery: "The Littlest Lancelot".docandraider.com -- the collected cartoons of Doc and Raider

Actually, when you go to the Commune site and look at the closeups of the face, she doesn't. She has a slightly unusual look, sure, but I wouldn't call it old. It's just different from the cookie-cutter face proportions we've seen for years in Poserland, and that IMHO is a good thing.

I just completed archive disk no. 101. No way am I gonna keep all that on a single drive and risk losing it when the disk crashes. I use a CD search program that allows me to find items by keyword, and when I archive, I use specific item names that allow me to find what I need quickly and easily. I also use multiple runtime folders that I can switch off as I move from one project to another, and that keeps the sizes more than manageable. I mean, there are all sorts of things you can do to keep that folder lean and mean rather than bloated as all heck.

It's the size of the head -- it's about 5-10% too big for the age group. Still, great job.

Archive. Archive. Archive. Is there some reason why we have to keep everything we get in our RT folders?

I have to say, tho, I'm a little miffed by the heterosexuality requirement Given the outlandishness of the genre, I'm not. There are some things we dont want to reclaim. :-)
