Thread: What's coming to Poser | Forum: Community Center
And again: where are you getting images of Pauline? I didn't see anything much at RDNA (one image that isn't really useful, though her feet do look good), so links would be nice :)

Well, unless there are more images of Pauline, I really think it's far too early to judge. Are there any other images of her besides the one in the RDNA thread?

As far as figures, what we need is Dawnesis++: a revamped Dawn/Dusk/Luna morphing figure, with a midrange between Luna and Dawn/Dusk (let's call them Sonny/Sunny, as they'll need to be more distinctly boy/girl than Luna). Dawn & Dusk especially need significant resculpting (think Poser 5 Judy vs. Eternal Judy).
They also need good textures. The ones that they come with are, ahem, suboptimal (and I'm unable to justify buying any others for lack of useful/satisfactory preview images).
Don't get me wrong, they are great figures, but they honestly need a good bit of work to compete with Genesis. The good news is that they certainly seem capable of being brought to that point with a few months of work. The even better news is that they already take great advantage of Poser's advanced rigging techniques.
To summarize: Dawn and Dusk are built to last, but they need some improvements to gain wider acclaim among the Poser community, and they should be included as the default figures in Poser 11/Poser Pro 2016.

Even if you don't get along with the DAZ|Studio interface for regular use, creating a morph and saving it as DUF is quite easy to do, and will work much better than trying to do it from within Poser. Once you've saved it, you can just load Genesis in Poser, and your new morph is always there, ready to use. You're then free to forget about DAZ|Studio until the next time you need to create another morph (or create Poser companion files for a product that doesn't include them - this is even easier than creating morphs).

Hopefully SM hasn't forgotten the Preview rendering aspects of Poser. It seems like a natural progression after adding the comic book preview that perhaps some of the wireframe previews get some attention. An occluded smooth shaded lined preview would be nifty. Not sure how occlusion distance would be determined in something like that or even if the tech exists for speedy user controlled options. Just thinking along the lines of something possible with C4d's sketch and toon and Carrara's wireframe pro plug in. I've always thought that Poser's various preview styles were very well executed.
Agreed 100%. As much as a love Poser's advanced OpenGL preview, it does need some improvements - most notably the preview of shadows for point lights is still unusable and some form of realtime reflection map functionality (this is absolutely possible, as I can get a pseudo realtime reflection map by using fresnel nodes in Poser Pro 2014). Also, shadows through transparency mapped objects are ugly, since the transparency map is ignored.
@Teyon, are you able to say anything about advanced OpenGL improvements yet? Even if you can't give specifics, it would be nice to know if there are improvements in this area or not.

...everyone who uses Poser, renders.
Not since they added the advanced OpenGL :-) My viewport looks significantly better than a lot of the full renders in the gallery here.
Note that I am actually excited about Superfly/Cycles coming to Poser 11, but it will need to have an interactive mode in order to be useful for me. I also hope they change their mind about GPU rendering (or at least add it to the next Poser Pro)

Hopefully he'll switch to CCSycles (allows Cycles to be used independent of Blender) before too long. There's already a version for Rhino 6 WIP :)
Thread: Genesis 3 in Poser (really!) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
After some very encouraging initial tests, I'm thinking I might just be able to use her directly in MODO801. Cooking with gas... or dual quaternions or something. Gotta love them industry standards...
Please do tell - I would actually RATHER have a fully-functional Genesis 3 in Modo than Poser (of course, I'd love both). I can't come to grips with DAZ|Studio's UI enough to do more than utility work in it.

For anyone still looking for Rolfee on Pixiv, look instead for Tofusan, which is his Pixiv username.

Content Advisory! This message contains profanity
Here's another idea: as soon as they tell you to look in Event Viewer, suddenly start going "oh no! That's not good! What am I going to do about this? I need to get rid of it now! Can you help me make this go away?" and when they ask you what you are seeing, tell them that you have a massive erection >:-) That's really only if it's a man calling, don't use something like that on the ladies. For the ladies, tell them you need to take a massive shit, and can they stay on the line while you do so. This will obviously work better if you can make convincing noises to that effect.
Conversely, when they first say who they are, tell them that you are kanjoos makhi choos (pronounced CON JUICE MACKY CHUCE) and you refuse to pay even one penny.
And then there's this: http://www.myinsults.com/all-insults/hindi-insults - if they can call you bad names in English, why not return the favor. Bonus points if you pretend to go along with their scam while randomly throwing Hindi insults in every so often. When they ask what you just said, play innocent :-P
Thread: Using DSON and G2 In Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I haven't any issues with G2 in Poser Pro 2014, other than the fact that geografting doesn't work (unless you don't use any morphs that affect the shape/size of the body part that has the attachment).
Have you tried using the Scripts>DSON Support>Transfer Active Morphs command when morphing a figure with GeoGrafts?
Yes I have. I've tried many things, and none of them actually work. I can get it close, but the geografted part always looks like it's a separate mesh, rather than seamlessly connected to the main figure. It would be so awesome if geografting worked in Poser, because otherwise Genesis 2 is practically flawless. It would also be nice if an option to never display the cage could be added simultaneously with any such geografting fix, as I prefer to use Poser's advanced opengl display in lieu of rendering, and the cage is quite ugly in this respect.

AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1090T Processor 3.20 GHz
8.00 GB RAM
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
EVGA Nvidia GTX 760 (4GB)
Another thing that happens with clothing is that the morphs get out of sync, in which case there is a provided Python script called "transfer active morphs". This script is automatically installed alongside the DSON Importer, and is available directly from the script menu in the DSON Support submenu.

It seems like he modeled it himself, but the Google translation leaves something to be desired.
