Thread: Hi! DAZ 3D wants to chat. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I had a PC membership from the very beginning. Finally let it go a couple of months ago. I just don't shop at Daz anymore, and I used to spend a ton of money there. I noticed that most of the Christmas freebies were not for Poser too. Sad. I used to love Daz, but they are off in a new direction for sure. I wish them well, but they are of very little use to me anymore.

Since I've been at this for about 10 years now, a lot. Especially in the first few years. Now, not so much. My runtimes are full, and my job went to India. So it works out. :)

I feel a bit sad. I was alwys so excited by a new Victoria figure release. Don't have any urge to get this one at all. Daz Studio gives me a headache, when it works at all on my system. Besides, all I have is a 32 bit system with Poser 8 installed so I guess the upcoming exporter from DS won't work for me even if DS plays nice for a change. I feel like an old ghost rattling my chains around while the rest of the world moves on. :)

Thread: Vue 7.5 revealed. Ouch. | Forum: Vue
As a hobbyist, I feel as though I am being forced to step down to a lower version of the software, or ultimately just give it up altogether. I have 6 Infinite now, but have already had to pass on upgrading to 7 Infinite due to job loss. The next upgrade, if I skip 7 Infinite, will be even pricier (based on what happened to people using 5 Infinite who had skipped upgrading to 6 Infinite but wanted to go to 7 Infinite when it came out), so I guess I am just going to have to give up. I just upgraded my Adobe CS2 Photoshop to CS4 for a reasonable upgrade price. I don't know why e-on can't be the same. Reasonable. It does seem that e-on are doing their best to lose hobbyist business. :(

Poser 4 was the first for me. I loved it so much that I upgraded to the Pro Pack version as soon as I could. The most exciting thing about Poser 5 (after about the last update when it would finally run well on my PC) was the folder structure. I remember in Poser 4 turning matpose files into Camera files or Face files just to fit in all the bounty I accumulated over the years. LOL What a nightmare it was to find stuff. :)

Cool. :) Thanks a lot!
Quote - May I point you to the FindInLibs Python script in my freestuff?
I agree that this functionality should have been built into Poser a long time ago. But as is often the case, PoserPython comes to the rescue.

Thread: (OT) OMG! I'm returning the computer from HELL!!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I dunno. Last 4 computers we have had were all Dells. One had some issues with the CD writer so they sent us a new one The writer still didn't work until the maker came out with firmware for it, which they did a month or so later. Then it was fine. Another had monitor problems when it got to be about 2 years old. The one I am on now is over 4 years old, and still runs okay. I thought it was dead once, but hubby took out the memory modules and blew the dust off them, plugged them back in, and all was well. I have never even reformatted it. (Having said that I will probably have to do it tomorrow. lol) The other one is a laptop which seems fine so far. I will probably buy another desktop from them in a year or so. We are not knowledgable enough to build our own, but I like being able to customize the machine a bit. I can usually get more or less what I want from Dell.
Our first computer (and I have no idea what brand it was) didn't even have a hard drive. We had to boot it with big floppy disks, and save all our work to more disks. Those were the days. LOL

I have the same problem. D/S just crashes. I have tried 3 separate versions of it over time, and I just hate it and it just hates my computers. :(
Quote - He looks good in that render, but the problem is that I use mainly Poser 7.
D|S won't even load on my Vista machine so I don't bother anymore. It's just not worth the hassle. Now imagine they release M4 as a subD figure only.
I think Daz would have to barricade the doors because there would be natives with pitchforks on the way.
I'd be one of them...Lets just say it would be an immensely stupid business decision if they did that, so lets hope they have a little brain matter left.

Nice work. :) Thanks!
Quote - Caught this thread yesterday evening and thought it would make an interesting project. Decided to model one and am offering it as a freebee.
Morphable Poser prop to open or close, obj and pp2 included. I've only assigned basic diffuse colors to it but have included a UV template in the .zip.
Feel free to use for commercial or non-commercial projects.
