"Another one I've found is Xena's JF outfit (at PoserPros)" That only comes for Mike 3, doesn't it? Anyway, I'll check it out. I played around some with the Imagination Gown, turning the bottom half transparent and it's not too bad but the sleeves are tight where they should be flowing. Which can be covered by the outer robe ... except on the character who doesn't wear one :-( Regarding David, check out the Daz forum. From what I read I got the impression he's going to be a standalone; the big question -- aside from the release date -- is how compatible he's gonna be with all that stuff made for Mike. If he's not, a lot of folks who spent big bucks on M3 are gonna be very, very unhappy. And I wouldn't blame them a bit.

Nah, boots too. But they've got to be at least thigh-high, leather (preferably black) and have lots of shiny doodads on 'em to qualify. Check out the ones at Reality's Poison and you'll see what I mean. Now imagine Obi Wan Kenobi (Ian M, not Sir Alec) in a pair of those. With or without the thong ;-)

Ha! Innocent my pixilated tailfeathers! ::grins right back at pdxjims:: Yes, that stuff. I've every set including #4 and my Mike doll kisses your toes in gratitude. He's especially happy with those "come and get it" thongs ;-) Hmm, maybe one of those, a smile and a lightsabre would do the trick. After all, he could be ::cough:: an undercover Jedi. Now does anyone have an idea where to get a padawan braid -- or a reasonable facsimile thereof?

::whimpers:: That is so unfair! Here I was hoping I could buy some of M3's hot Sci-fi/Fantasy duds and adjust them where necessary. Oh well ... back to foraging for Mike 1/2 stuff. Speaking of which, does anybody know where I might find a "we-won't-call-it-a-Jedi" outfit cheap or even better, free? I have the robe, what I need right now is a tunic & sash. Oh, and proper boots. Mustn't forget those -- I really don't think he'd look right in high heels, sandals, or that leather boy "f--k me" gear I have courtesy of pdxJim. On second thought,he'd look bloody marvelous in some of that. 'tho TOS probably wouldn't let me post the piccie here ;-)

Oooh! Gimmee-gimmee-gimmee! Pretty please? Would make an excellent face for a wizard. All my Mikes are young & pretty; what I need is character & this guy's got it.

Thank you. Another suggestion: I'm not sure if it was here or on another Poser site I read about a modeller with a similar problem only it was spaceships. Star Trek fans would be the biggest market, only trouble was selling the Enterprise is a trademark violation and a sure-fire to get your ass sued. However, selling a kit that could be customized any way the user liked, even if user could create an Enterprise clone from all the parts was okay. Maybe you could do something like that. A "build-your-own" Potions Master. Magic!

Yep, nobody knows that better than the Star Trek & Star Wars moguls. They tried slapping fan producers down until they realized that was bad for business, so now it's pretty much live & let live -- as long as nobody but Lucasfilms & Paramount makes any money from Luke Skywalker & Captain Kirk. Which is fair enough since it's their property. Regarding Snape & Potter, well there's no law against creating & distributing a generic Alchemist & Apprentice type character. Those are folklore concepts and therefore in the public domain. Even if it can be made to somewhat resemble JKR's or Warner's versions. Heck, if being a look-alike, celebrity or not, is a copyright violation, shouldn't folks who are twins be arrested?

Excuse me if this comes thru twice, been having ::cough:: technical difficulties. This matter came up awhile back on some of the HP fan groups I belong to and it was mentioned that JKR herself does not own the rights to anything to do with the Harry Potter movies. She (or her publisher) sold them to Warner Films, so even if she wanted to, she can't permit use of movie characters. For that you need to go to Warner's licensing department. If they say yes, it's no doubt gonna cost a small fortune, depending on what particular rights you want. Non-profit fan usage might be allowed, with a whole bunch of restrictions, but if it's something you want to sell they'll either say no or demand a really big chunk of the pie. On the bright side, even if they refuse permission, they'll at least know there's a market for a product that's certainly gonna promote their movies.

Hi Phil! Love your stuff, just picked up the newest freebies. Dunno when I'll use 'em but thanks ever so much. Now if you're still taking requests, how about some fantasy clothes for Don & Judy? Wizard robes & tunics would be nice, not to mention some Elf and/or pirate gear. And wouldn't Will & Penny make a cute pair of fae or maybe even Hobbits if only they had something other than play clothes or school uniforms?

You might want to check out the info over in the Copyright Forum; I found it very helpful the other day. And if you do make the HP look-alikes, I for one would very much like to see them, not to mention beg for a Snape & Harry of my very own -- though you can keep Gilderoy Lockehart. ::snerk:: That pompous git'd be wanting a closet bigger than V3's and no way can my computer or my budget handle that. Good luck and let the rest of us wizard fanciers know how things turn out.

Sorry you're up to the eyeballs in buildings & whatnot. Unless you're actually getting paid for that sorta thing, in which case I'm delighted. At least one of us ::sniffles:: has more in the cupboard than mac & cheese and those God-awful rubber chicken no-name weenies. And since you so kindly put it to a vote, I for one am willing to wait til you're ready. It's not as if my Mike's totally starkers. Besides, Don doesn't really mind sharing ... or catching the peep show when those refitted shorts don't quite make the grade ;-)

Was just looking at Daniel ::drools:: very nice. BUT -- and there's always one of those -- don't you need M3 to be able to use him? If I beg, borrow & raid my brother's piggy bank, I might manage an M2 upgrade in another month or so. Right now I'm doing the starving student/artist routine. ::sigh:: So not fun, eating noodles all the time.
