Short of being able to hack the code, I don't think so. The palette you get when setting the colors in the DTE has access to all available colors depending on the screen resolution you have chosen for Windows, I believe. Can't say about the Mac, tho.

To Shadowdragonlord: I didn't mean to sound like I was ranking out people just because they don't post 3 pics a day, just those who flame other artist's work. I enjoyed surfing here as a member for a WHOLE YEAR before my first post (I'm shy. And lazy. :^) Actually it took me that long before I felt like I was producing work that was good enough to post. Seeing the high quality that is the standard here raised the bar for me. And that's a good thing.) To Bikermouse: As far as negative comments go, "I don't like this because..." and "This bites!" are very different, and yet both are negative. Thanks for the quote from "Oh Well" by Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. Have you heard their new "Live at the BBC" CD? I like it.

P.S. I changed service providers lately, so that's probably why your e-mails are bouncing back.

I'm pretty sure I got it at 3D Commune, but I can't check there right now, I'm not on my home computer and I don't recall my password. If you can't find it there, I'll look around and see if I can find documentation for it somewhere.

Great responses guys, but I think a sincere "good job" now and then can help us build confidence that we are accomplishing the goals we are setting for ourselves. I for one really enjoy the feedback. If I didn't want feedback, I would just leave my art on my hard drive. Up until I posted my stuff here, I was very discouraged and thinking I might be wasting my time. The only people who saw my art were family and friends, and the usual response there was "that's nice" which sounded a lot like "big whoop" to me (I'll bet this is almost universal among your friends and family, too). Thanks!

Thread: June Challenge Entry | Forum: Bryce
Well, HardRock, I went to a rural school in the 1960's and our desks were made entirely of this cheap-looking pressed wood with no stain and only a lightly-lacquered finish(Similar to what you see in this pic). I actually tried several different wood grain procedural textures before I settled on this one. When I tried darker woods, 1. it just didn't look like I remembered it, and 2. the grain became stronger and made the focal point of the work the grain itself, I thought. Thanks for the comments!

Thread: Can't light my fire...need help using a volume material | Forum: Bryce
Couldn't help putting my 2 cents worth in here. You will probably want to turn off the shadow for your fire object so it doesn't cast its own shadow. :^) Also place an invisible light source (with weak output)where the flame is, to simulate the light given off by the flame. I use a volume flame texture I got by surfing the links here called (I think) Menno's Fire, very similar to Clay's. Maybe Clay is Menno? It is very cheap to render, and an example can be seen in my gallery here in a piece called "Mask of Reason". But it is more suited to campfires and torches.

Thread: show us who you are...you're slice of life...your feelings | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm not a big fan of mainstream movies. The same goes for digital art. I always say that if I want to see "true to life", I'll look out a window. But I do some "real world" rendering, along with the fantasy stuff because it's really all about what's in my head at the time of creation. There's a Photography Gallery here, if you're into reality. Creativity takes many forms, all of them valid. Try all of them, then go with what you really enjoy. And that might be a little of everything.

Thread: Is this Spam or worse ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Haven't had this happen on Forum, but sometimes when cruising free stuff I get a message from my protection asking if I want to allow something access to my ISP. I always say no, but haven't looked to see who's asking. Is this kinda what you mean?

How about Baldie? Ow, ow, stop hitting me! Seriously, I think she's a dead ringer for Lucille Ball. Slap a red head of hair on her and call her "Lucy".

I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but is the lady on the right doing psychic surgery on her own right kidney? Her hand appears to penetrate her side. Really, guys, this was a fun thread!

Thread: buy victoria | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I picked up the free Victoria yesterday. She works great and can use all of Vicki's clothes, textures, hair, etc. She is a cut above Posette and also has all of v1's morphs built in. My guess is you may see the lower res version as part of Poser 5, along with a lower res version of Mike. Sound plausible?
