Thread: Bryce vs Vue | Forum: Vue
If you're comparing Bryce to Vue Infinite there is no comparision. The Ecosystem capababilities of VUE Infinite take you into a completely new realm of realism and possibiity. The material editor in Vue (all versions) is much more powerful and easier to use. Lights, vegetation, atmospheres, and render options are also superior in Vue. IMHO Bryce is really an older style, low-end 3D package that offers nice value for the $100 price. But it is not in the same league as Vue.

Rodluc, Those faked caustics are really incredible. I can't wait to learn how you did that.

There is no way to change the pose, only the orientation. I would suggest making 3 or 4 pose variations of each animal and then loading them in as separate objects in your eco.

I like all three but I think number one would be most useful since we're all starting with the same scene and could develop some awesome textures to share

Wow! Great examples guys - especially the particle one. I've got the progam Particle Magic by Wondertouch which can generate waterfalls and render out to an avi. I think I'll give it a try and try and map it to an animate material. Thanks

Thread: Vue Infinite, WHY are my renders GRAINY?? :( | Forum: Vue
Try loading in some of the test scenes included with Vue and see if you have the same problem. Pick a simple one and give it a go. If these show up grainy, then you have a software or possible a graphics card problem.

A couple of things to check: 1. Is Anti-aliasing turned on for the leaf material for the RDNA textures? Select the tree and find its leaf material and make sure that Anti-Aliasing is checked (on) in the material tab. 2. Zoom in on the edge of the tree and make a small render using Final quality and see what you get. I have found that some objects that use transparency maps for leaves are often quite rough. 3. Try a test render with a Vue Plant and see what results you get. It's definitely not your 64-bit machine

Looks great! Now add a bit of foam at the water edges (Distance to object below) and you're there!

Great idea Agiel - I think procedural materials and atmospheres are a great idea. A way to do this that might work is to have everybody start with the same scene containing a single object (e.g. a rock, tree, terrain, etc) and then have everyone apply their mats to the same object. I constantly struggle with rock, bark and groundcover mats. Another area that would be great for a group think is lighting - starting with a common scene - who can apply the most realistic or unusual lighting.
