"Dont ya just hate it when you go to Preview a longish post and that sucker just disappears into cyberspace? DOOH!" Actually, I may have stumbled onto a trick that defeats this (aside from copying the message into a text editor before hitting 'send'): if your post has been 'eaten', hit back and then forward (browser buttons). I had a post disappear once and did this, and was delighted to see that my text had reappeared. Fortunately, I haven't had a chance to try it again yet.

Thread: Is there an artist in the house? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Even though it needs certain elements, as you say, I like where you are going. My main concerns are as follows: (1) The hair doesn't look right. There should be more of it in front of her forehead and perhaps it should also cover her ears more as well. (2) The background is a bit too drab for the rest of the image. Keep it 2d, but add a hint of blue to the sky. (3) The lack of shadow on her cleavage is also distracting. (4) Once you've taken care of the above to your liking, add a bit of post to Raquel herself, so that she appears more painted (she is already well-lit for this, but is still a little too plastic). Hope this is helpful to you, as I like this image quite a bit as is. I look forward to seeing where you take it from here :-)

Thread: Computer Arts 101 - USA version - Freak Bundle installer still not fixed | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There's not a USA version, it's a straght import of the exact same magazine (unlike, say, American Photo, which is less aesthetic and contains around 10-20x more ads than the original French version). The same is true of the many other fantastic UK computer magazines (most of which are published by Future Publishing, LTD).

...pay Danny Devito for an hour of donkey impressions? Y'know, Kuroyume, sometimes I wonder about you ;p Seriously, though; this is not a good idea. As Kuroyume stated above, the data/object you will get from the scan will be completely unusable in Poser. You will need a very powerful computer to edit it, and will not be very likely to convert it to an M3 morph. So my serious continuation to Kuroyume is: ... use magnets and/or existing morph targets to get an approximation. It will still not be easy (unless you already look similar to M3), but it will be far easier, and much less expensive than the cyberscan.

Thread: --- A C.L.-DAZ Nightmare??? .....Could E-On Become Number ONE...??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As a quick aside, the Z-toon effect is yet another useful glitch in Poser, having nothing to do with Python, since it has been available since Poser 3.

Ack! The following is what I meant: the lower right says X+, and also check "flip facet".
Thread: Can this sort of lighting be approached in Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ooh, ooh! Another great opportunity to bug Ockham for a new script (although this one should be useful for a LOT of people): For the currently selected light only, allow the user to specify a spread angle and a number of lights to end up with, then divide the intensity by the number of lights, and finally create the new lights in place of the old light. Optionally, have the ability to slightly randomize the light color.

My fave combination: MarbleCLAY (free, fairly stable beta): http://homepage3.nifty.com/escargot/ I use this for initial modeling, because I can create a new polygon/polyline anywhere I want. The one thing to beware of is that you need to change the axis orientation for import/export so that the lower left says X+, and also check "flip facet". Wings3d (free, very stable beta): http://www.wings3d.com I then bring the model into Wings to tweak and add detail. There is one additional thing to be aware of in both programs, and that is to set import scaling to [50] and export scaling to [0.02]. Both apps have the ability to create UV mapping, each with their own approach. This is an especially powerful combo if you want to create clothing for Poser characters (conforming or dynamic).

Personally, I think they should make Poser 6 more like Silent Hill! muhahaha
Thread: Another way to load CR2 with IK off ... cross-dressing | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
svdl, only one problem with that: if you resave the figure, the IKs are turned back on. The best solution I've found is to rename them: inkyChain LeftLeg on name LeftLeg addLink becomes inkyChain [LeftLeg] off name LeftLeg addLink This gets around Poser's stubborn insistance upon resetting IKs to on for the legs when saving new figures to the library.
Thread: The most retarded question ever asked on this forum | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Stupid question: "help! I downloaded Poser from a warez site, but I'm missing a lot of files. Can you email them to me?" A lot of the beginner questions van be answered by reading the manual, but some cannot, and sometimes the answer is hidden on a page or listed in the index under something one might not expect it to be.

Really, Pakled, it's just, well, you're not on her friends and family plan. Plus you always seem to call during peak hours. And then there's the roaming fees...
