Content Advisory! This message contains nudity
The Poser 1 figures are/were part of the separately downloadable legacy content.
They can be found in the Poser 2 Lo folder and for the most part still work in Poser 11.
Neither clothing nor hair was provided. Also the hands were not rigged, so different hand gestures were realized by geometry switching instead.
(You have to dial through a variety of differently sculpted hands)
Also expression morphs were still something Poser users had to wait for a couple of years until Poser 3 I think.
*
But the Poser 2 figures were already a massive improvement over them, as nudity was now "optional", even though they still couldn't talk and properly rigged hands were still not on the table:
Here is a review of Poser 1.0:

And this is how the packaging looked like:

Many thanks for the help.
I think I found exactly the correct type of 1960's "fishtail" parka over on Turbosquid.

It's a MV file but the obj is also included.
I don't have Marvelous Designer, so maybe someone who has could help me out:
The obj comes in the A-Pose, but I'd prefer the T-Pose for Poser rigging.
I would like someone to buy TWO copies on my behalf, (The file is just $7), load one into MV and convert it over to the T-Pose, export as .obj and then send it to me. (That's why you should buy two copies, so that each of us can have one legally)
I will of course reimbursue you for your expenses and happily buy something from your wishlist or send some cash for your effort.
Any takers, send me an PM, please.

AFAIK the injection files also MUST not be compressed.
So if you let Poser compress (all) your runtime(s) to save space, these injection files must be uncompressed separately again.
Thread: Arrange nodes script | Forum: Poser 13
Some observations:
Once launched, it worked very well. Has A LOT more options than the old script. (Which can be a bit cunfusing, though)
"Justify" doesn't seem to work, though. (Aligning through x-axis)
I have to look into it, though.
I had to click it, twice, as the first click messed up the OpenGL preview.
Seems to be a general Poser 13 problem, that "doing stuff" in the material room can easily mess up the OpenGL preview.
These were also the only occurences when Poser 13 crashed on me to desktop.
So far I only used it with Firefly materials. Can't say if there are any problems with Superfly.
All in all, thanks again to all who tried to help.

Well, it actually runs when I do the File --> Run Python Script --> click --> click --> click --> click ... song and dance. So, yes, thanks for that.
But to be actually useful, I need it to start directly from "Scripts -- Utility" like the old script did and without all the nested vanity folders.
Is that possible?
Knowing myself, if it's too cumbersome to use, I probably won't use it at all. :-(

BTW, seriously, how many places / folders ARE there in Poser where a python script can hide itself?
There's Python and scripts and PoserScripts AND subfolders with subfolders nested, and then there's Scripts.
Is it so hard to JUST have ONE folder where all these scripts go?

Thread: An error occurred importing addon Subdivider | Forum: Poser 13
Fixed it!
There was a Python script called "Subdivider" in one of my runtimes. I removed the folder and Poser 13 is happy again.
:-)
Seems to be an add-on subdivider script, unrelated to Poser 13's build in subdivision.
A DSON remnant?
Thread: BUM conversion -- can't remember what was used | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
IrfanView can open .bum files.
It actually will give a notice, saying that those .bum files are actually .bmp files and offers to rename them for you.
(So you probably could also just rename them manually, so that newer versions of Poser can handle them)
IrfanView can batch convert them, too, into a file type of your choice.
If I remeber correctly, I think Poser 5 also auto-converted .bum files into .jpg's?

1. Export both parts of your helmet seperately as object files.
(Make sure to choose the correct import/export scale. I import stuff from Poser into Wings3D using 20.0 and export using 0.05)
2. Import the two objects into Poser one by one.
3. Open the Hierarchy Editor.
4. Rename the lower part "Body".
Make the upper part a child of the Body. (Simply pull the name of the upper part over the "Body" in the Hierarchy Editor.)
5. Select the Body (!) and click "Create Figure" in the Hierarchy Editor. Select a name.
6. Open a new scene.
7. Load the new figure that Poser created from the "New Figure" folder of your Poser root library.
8. As your figure is supposed to be a hard-shelled object that does not deform, select both figure parts and disable "Bend".
9. Open the Joint Editor and edit the center of the moveable upper part, so that it will properly "open" if you dial xRotate. (You can also rename xRotate to "open" afterwards)
10. Add textures and safe your finished helmet figure once again to a library of your choice.
Thread: La Fille & Le Garçon Child morph for La Femme and L'Homme or Standalone? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've never seen a convincing looking pre-teen figure until I came across Leo and Bryan for G8.1 male over at Renderhub.
Both faces and body are perfect. They neither look cartoonish nor are they just crudely scaled down adult figures.
Of course ANY Poser figure can be sculpted into any shape with the right tools and talent, but so far these two are the only figures that make me believe that the artist put in some real effort, instead of creating a child morph as an mere afterthought.
Too bad there are no matching girl figures.
I also abstained from using / converting Genesis 8 in Poser so far, but excellent sculpts like this make it harder every day to stay a "Poser Purist".
I think it's time to visit the Dark Side again.
:-)
Thread: Can you tell me how to make tank caterpillar morph? | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
You need to create a morph that moves the track exactly one link forward. Then you create an ESC morph dial that repeats that morph.
Like so: ERC morph dial 0-1 = track morph goes from 0-1. ERC morph dial 1-2 = track morph goes from 0-1. ERC morph dial 2-3 = track morph goes from 0-1.
...and so on.
This creates the illusion of a track continuously moving, as the eyes can't see the track morph "snapping back". (Like with a movie where you won't notice the "stops" between the frames)
Slave this ERC dial to another ERC dial moving your tank forward as well as morphs rotating the boogie wheels and the sprocket, and your tank will actually "run".
Search on ShareCG for Vanishing Points JAGDPANTHER to see an example of this.
