Great new look, reminds me of Maxon's, which I like (in fact, for a second, I thought it was Maxon's site; lol).
Mateo: You are correct about the Netscape 4.x market being no longer a factor. Netscape is up to version 7.2, as well as Mozilla being at 1.7. Those computers which won't run either of these are not going to be able to run Poser 5, and will probably struggle with Poser Artist/4/ProPack.

Seriously, like Tyger_purr said, get Mozilla or Firefox. So far, about 3 or 4 vulnerabilities have been found in Mozilla, and all were patched within HOURS of discovery. Internet Explorer is chock full of security holes just waiting for illegitimate programmers to take advantage of, and users will continue to get burned everytime a website decides to plant spyware on their system. Aside from the security, Mozilla/Firefox is also much more enjoyable to use in general.Thread: Pose farming is fun | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I often use this technique to tweak faces, except that I use frames 1 and 30, and then jump to 15 and look around from there.

This is all fine and good until someone like me comes along and discovers that you're all the same person, replying to yourself out of pure vanity. Shame on you ;p
Thread: Can Poser Create Realistic Renders? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If it's from Mec4D, it's very likely rendered in Cinema 4D, which has a very good GI renderer, including subsurface scattering (it was this site which managed to force me to learn how to use C4D's subsurface scattering).
Thread: What do you hate more about Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, since JHoagland has violated the DMCA by circumventing my tin-foil hat and read my mind, there's no need for me to repeat the things I hate which he so eloquently stated. I will instead assist Aeneas in keeping a bit of sanity and/or hair by pointing out that using the "1" and "3" keys on the keyboard will switch between Pose(1) and Camera(3) modes.

CR2Builder loads Poser files without actually loading the deltas or geomCustom into memory, so all you have to do is find the stub it loads and delete that. After following the link above, choose the link labeled 02h18.Thread: sPATCH..poser newbie | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

You may also want to give hamaPatch a try, since sPatch is no longer being developed. Don't be put off by the website and screenshots being in japanese, there is an option while you are installing to use English, and it is quite a step up from sPatch (allows you to set POV materials/options prior to export).Thread: Corrupt 3DS on export ??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It is best to export as Wavefront OBJ unless the program you're going to import into doesn't support it. The 3DS format is limited to 65535 vertices, so the millenium figures will have to be exported as multiple pieces if that is what you are doing.

Thread: How do I do this with P5 shader nodes? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You need to add a 'Math Funtions:Blender' node. Plug the clouds node into one input, and whatever you want to be on the rest of the model in the other, with your mask image plugged into the bottom 'Blending' input on the Blender node.
Thread: Will Poser or D|S users ever benefit from GI Lighting? Doubt it. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Used exactly as in Stewer's tutorial, the probelight node won't work (properly) with lights. However, if you plug it into the reflection input, and check "multiply through lights", it can be combined with strategic light setups to produce nice results while still allowing for shadows. Back to the original subject, I would rather see actual GI within Poser, or else direct render plugins. YafRay, KRay, and Virtualight are three excellent candidates for plugin writers to look at. Even if eFrontier decided to sell just the Shade renderer as an add-on for Poser 6, that would be cool, though it would be nice if it were included.

Thread: DAZ Hair Props | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
No, it's probably a result of not enough antialiasing. The specularity is used in such a way that it tends to do that, since it's being multiplied through the texture. I'm working on a tutorial for this hair effect, as well as one for a weird new way to use Firefly shaders.
