The "real" Max Headroom was the actor, Matt Frewer, who also played a real person in the Max Headroom action series (yes, there was one - and it wasn't bad). The digital effects were done with makeup and dicking around with the video frame rates etc. FYI, the characters in the series were/are owned by Chrysalis music.

Frewer also starred as the main character in Lawnmower Man 2, which was apparently even worse than the first one.

Ok, here's one from the recesses of my memory - Frewer also did a voiceover for an ad promoting a sugar free candy called Velamints. :) I dunno if this aired outside the UK, so maybe you won't have seen it. The ads featured a white horse running through snow. Maybe we should start a Matt Frewer forum now. :D

Hehe, that is too funny. Cool stuff, LD. I like the Furry Vicky idea, too. I may just have to get me Poser 5. :D

I'm getting pissed off with Daz, too. Over and above the site being inaccessible every 10 minutes or so, and the broken links all over the place, I'm havein a whale of a time trying to buy online. They lost some of my account details, so the system didn't recognise my email addy, yet when I created a new account it remembered me well enough to realise there's an address mismatch. I moved house a few weeks ago, and I guess they still have my old address on file. However, when I called to try and resolve the problem, someone said they would run my card manually. An hour later and another phone call, and it's still not happening. I only want to buy the damned Millennium Guitar.

Wahoo! Finally! Tis a painfully slow download, though. Oh well, at least it's on the way. :D

Well, so much for that. I'm now the not-so-proud owner of the Millennium Guitar. It's absolute pants. Save yourselves some money and don't buy it. There are better quality free guitars here in the Free Stuff section. (Walks away muttering and complaining...)

IMO, service wise, DAZ positively sucks, Strangechilde. The lady I spoke to didn't give me key information regarding my purchase, or what they would do about it - and that amounts to piss poor service in my eyes. The fact that they cross reference their credit card purchases against addresses merely confirms my opinion. I have better things to do than make (two - for a $20 purchase!) international telephone calls and wait an hour for someone to get moving. Funny thing here - I can walk into a store, buy something and walk out again in about 5 minutes. I expect the same (or better) from online purchases - especially when their fuckup meant I had the problem in the first place. IMO, customer service means "We will move heaven and earth to make our customers happy" NOT "We will frustrate our customers attempts to buy our products". This is not the first time Daz have fucked me about - but it will be the last. They just lost a customer.

Thread: Looking for Dana Scully (x-files) texture for Victoria? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have seen a Gillian Anderson texture for Posette, but not one for Victoria - if you can find the Posette version, you could adapt it to Victoria. Stephanie doesn't use Victoria textures - they are slightly offset.

Thanks, people. I looked in Animotions but couldn't find anything suitable so far. As for buying a cape, etc, I'd be happy to do that if I can find anything that's useful.

Doug, I eventually found what I needed - and saw quite a lot of your work in the process - very impressive, sir. I also got hold of your remapped bodysuit, and it works like a charm. Many thanks. Now, I wonder if you can help me out with this... is there a way to remap Michael's morphing body suit? I figured it may be useful to use that particular one for my superhero type characters. Any pointers would be welcome.

Ha! I figured it out - I altered the CR2 to point to the new geometry file. :D

I'm impressed. There's some very nice detailing, and the "imperfections" make it look very realistic. I hope to get to be as good at creating skins. If I have a criticism at all, I'd have to say the eyelids are rather too smooth and flaw free for the rest of the texture. Otherwise, it's a great piece of work.

Thread: vicky textures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Of all the ones I have - bought or free - I like Eowyn's conversions of Staale's P4 textures the most. Very usable, they don't impose too much of themselves on Victoria, which leaves you free to play around with body and face shaping. For example, the "Nameless" texture, good though it is, is far too striking (IMO) and makes it difficult to make Victoria look like anything else when using it. I believe a good texture should combine simple colour, flaws and basic skin texture, without overdoing the character aspect. I think it's a good idea to shape a character without a texture first, then add in the skin after. Further to this, I'm currently playing around with the idea of generic skin textures and tones, with minimal shaping and shading, to allow me to create hundreds of different looks easily.
