As a 'still new' Poser user and horrible texture maker myself I think I agree with all the above. HappyWorld gave me the basics that I can learn and play with but to purchase a new texture I look for something that is totally unique and beyond my abilities to make. Such as detailed BUMPS giving the vains and charature that stands out from the rest or other texturing skills that I just can't make myself. Standard ethnic textures have become rather common now but once in a while one comes along...like some recent baby ethnic textues (can't remember where, not at my own machine right now). How about the Old Folk (wrinkles and greyed skin - not many of those and hard for use texture newbies) and Fantasy characture with real pazaz, different and flamboyant but with purpose.. Hope this helps, your textures are nice but money flow is EXTREMELY strapped for me at the moment ;-(

Thread: Trouble making good shadows, please help.. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, I played some more last night and didn't seem to make anymore that a very light, almost visable shadow. Unfortunatly I have to do my "real job" all day but thanks for all the suggestions, tonight I will try Laverson's suggestion and elliminate the "Infinative" lights and try more Spot lights now that I know more about controlling the,. Nance, your suggestion of Cookie/Gobo sounds interesting. I am still very new and never heard of this but it sound like a veriation of a Flare Tutorial I read a while back....maybe I can do something with that as well...

Thanks Styxx, maybe I have been too conservative? I haven't tried to max out the Shadow dial. This is my first attempt at rendering a whole scene in Poser and I didn't even catch on that double clicking the dials would do anything. Back to exploring and see what I come up with!

Crack Kills or Fester Lives?? With Halloween just around the corner (it's Always 'just around the corner' to me..) I would love to see the rest! For the "Undead" catagory, this is one of the best in a while!

Normally a "Brick Wall" would be done in Poser with a solid flat obj and the brick "texturing" is created using a BUMP map. To tile separate brick objects you are in for a HUGE file!

If you have Bryce I have just been playing with exporting terrains and realized I can also export proceedual (sp?) textures and they do look nice in Poser.

I haven't tried PhilC's on the Charger yet but there is a morph to make Phil's work on the Heavy Horse (no renders as I am still saving up for the HH myself but Phil's is EXCELLENT!)

I am still new at this too but the UVMapper in free stuff is the key. you will have to export as OBJ to map it in UVMapper and then fit the texture to the map. There are very good instruction that come with the UVMapper and some tutorials in the tutorial section as well. Yes, the Charger needs some good props! (but I'm saving up for the Heavy Horse too, the Charger needs a good oponent for jousts as well ;-)

If you do not see the "Fantasy Tack Pack" in DAZ's pictured catalog then go to the "text" version and look for "Charger Fantasy Tack" or just "Fantasy Tack". When I went to make my purchase I thought it was removed but I contacted their Sales and was assured it is still available, alas I had already spend my monthly quota....looks like a great set however and it DOES show up in the text catalog.

I have had a lot of issues when the zipped download creates 'sub directories' within poser's default structure I (ie. a directory mirror of the author's directory structur) so I adapted my own method of just unzipping downloads to an empty directory and then manually coping to my prefered directory. Try using Windows Explorer and look for these "extra sub directories" and cut and paste them to the correct directory.
