With very bendy parts (like knees), you need to tweak the collision settings quite a bit. For example, if you don't have "collide with vertexes" (not its actual name, sorry) set, you are ok until a specific vertex hits the cloth.
You probably know that. Good luck.

Thread: 3D Celebrities continued-mystery solved | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm convinced that 90% of "celebrity" look alike is texture. I've seen eggs with Arnold's face projected on them. Viola!!! looks like Schwarznegger. Well, duh.
I bought Cat Knight, being obsessed with Michelle Pfeiffer (gorgeous at any age after 25). It gets the distinctive tucks on her nose right, and almost gets the unusual upper lip and the curl (which Claire Danes also has, oddly enough). Put the right hair on her, and I can "see" MP. But otherwise I agree. With the exception of 3D Celebrities' MM, I don't think I've ever looked at a Poser "celebrity look alike" and said, without a hint, "That's so and so," much less actually recognized the intended. Well, Ok. Alan Alda. ... and Rickman.

My guess is another round of marketing BS, like the giant-slayer hype on C6P. It will do 30% of what you could reasonably expect, which will be 3% of that they are claiming in the hype.
Oh, and the Poser Mob will grab it up as fast as it can be packaged and then either claim evangelically that it does too or grouse that we "got fooled again."
Priorities. What else matters?

Thread: Is she an adult or a child? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - beos, I suggest you post her half-naked in the gallery. The Mods will quickly let you know whether she is an adult or child ...  :)
Not quite what actually happens. If he does this, she will become a child. All naked meshes become children if Mods see them. That is the definition of "child," you see: What the mod sees.
Very confusing, I know. But IT'S THEIR PARTY!!!!!!!

Regarding the "won't work with P7" issue, some clarification is needed. Transposer needs a poser.exe in order to work, and Poser 7 won't do. It doesn't seem to matter whether the PZ3 files are P4, P5, P6,or P7: If you don't have an earlier Poser on the machine, TransPoser won't load ANY Poser files.

Thread: Best Destrier? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Freyfaxi --
I got what you meant, and based on what I've seen of Frisians, I can see the "destrier" in the breed. But of course the real destrier is long gone, just like the real Molosian hounds and the vicious looking coursing hounds in Medieval tapestries. I am looking for a horse for a variety of early Medieval settings -- nothing after 1200 AD. Interesting your selecting the Charger for early Medieval. The art horse that looks most like it, I think, is the Hawkwood mount, dating from the 1400's (Hawkwood). What I'm looking for is something closer to da Vinci's Sforza horse. Once again the HH fits the bill, except for the weird proportions of front to back.

Interesting. It reminds me of the Castagna epoxy American animals: recognizable but not "right." the face has a vaguely Chinese quality, but the body doesn't have the Chinese look (big body, big hooves). I don't know what it is about the CP animals, but they never quite work.
Thanks for reminding me, though.

All the HH needs, for my purposes, is a way to get the back half more proportional to the front half. I spent last weekend at the state fair, mingling and photographing the heavy horses, and the distinction is clearer for me now. The Charger, despite its name, is a pulling horse, bulky and thick necked like a heavyweight lifter. The HH is built more like the big Bud-Clydes, wagon horses and team horses, but he's too chesty. He's just too dang chesty. I didn't see a horse of any type -- not even the prancy little barrel racers, with a greyhound/Superman chest like that.

Warning: If you go to the product pages and select an included product from there, you will be charged for it. You have to put the entire package in the cart to get it for free.
No big deal, but pretty confusing. I only wanted the elephant and Mitsu hair.

Thread: Belly Dancing any links. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Attached Link: http://dancingbadger.com/poser/bdance.htm
Traveler's Fantasy Dancer costume, totally conforming and originally for V2 I think, turns up for sale once in a while. It's more "Hollywood" than "tribal," but very good in its way. RenaPD's and Deecey's textures for it are at RDNA, I think. And Digiport Designs just updated their excellent belly dancer poses (again, for V2, I think) for use with either V4 or the G2 women -- available at CP, I think.I haven't installed the Agrabah stuff yet, but one of the big appeals was that it is dynamic; my main issue with Traveller's outfit is that belly dance costumes don't lend themselves to conforming. Not that he had the choice of dynamic when he created the originals. I'd be happy to pay again for a set of the Fantasy Dancer Costume made of mixed conforming/dynamic parts, especially if they were set up to fit a variety of newer figures.
The link is my review of the entire suite -- costume, add-on textures, and poses -- from about when they came out.
