I use PayPal all the time (like almost every day) and it always goes through immediately. There's some other snafu in the way, I suspect.

Thread: Date and Time messed up | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Never mind.
In spite of the error message that said the coupon was not valid etc, the sale went through and worked OK.
It seems the whole thing has to do with my time zone setting - I set my time zone to CST in my profile and suddenly the Rosity clock showed the right time.
You guys need to check the programming on that thing.

About the small version of the thumbs - the problem is not whether one should have small thumbs, because that's pretty logical, to get an overview.
No, the problem is the size chosen (24x24). If it were say, about 50x50, that would make a BIG difference.

Thanks for all the sarcasm. Just what I need, isn't it. I wrote what I've been told before. assuming it to be correct. A mistake, wasn't it.
I won't waste your time again, now will I.

Poser's big problem with using Depth Mapped is the fact that Poser uses such a tiny scale. And the most well-known case is the glowing nostrils.
Why does scale have anything to do with it, you ask? Well, since Poser is using 3D objects at an extremely tiny scale (far smaller than almost any other 3D app), the distance between objects is miniscule. It doesn't look that way in Poser - since everything in Poser is tiny together.
The tiny scale and the tiny distances mean that the space between two objects, where one is meant to throw a shadow on the other, may be too small and it become impossible to calculate a shadow.
If a figure stands on the floor, there's no problem casting a shadow on the floor, it's sufficiently far away. But if for instance a sitting character has a hand resting on his/her leg, Poser will not be able to create the shadow of each finger on the leg, just a tiny distance away, using depth mapped. As you gradually lift the hand, at a certain point suddenly Poser can calculate a shadoww.
With Ray Trace this limitation is not present.
So: for realistic shadows at very close quarters - Depth Mapped simply can't do it.
Glowing nostrils - the front end of the nose is too close to the back of the nose. Give the person a HUGE nose and your problem is solved! LOL

My original Quote - "The religious right in the US are dictating morals for all of us."
Your Quote - "every political group in existence is trying to dictate morals for all of us - left or right."*
You missed my point. Every political or religious group in existence (almost) would like to dictate morals, as you say.
But the problem is, the US religious right have succeeded.
Ownership of huge systems like CC companies, PayPal, eBay, ISP's, big TV companies, media conglomerates, etc... just think what that means. They get to decide the rules on the web and in media.
They decide what we see, read, think about, discuss, have access to, what is taboo, what is 'moral'.
And that affects ALL of us, all over the world. Not only people in the US.
While everyone hotly contests issues like what is moral etc, they go about their business.

The religious right in the US are dictating morals for all of us. That's what all of this is actually about.
Before they started gaining momentum about 20 years ago, the world just went about its business.
But with the Internet and the corporations that own financial systems and means of communication and information, some well placed ownership dollars can bring the entire planet to its knees.
We all become hostages to a certain group and their agenda.
We discuss their issues, we get painted into a corner they have defined, we lose sight of the other issues because we're so busy struggling with the new reality they make for us.
Lovely...
And no, I'm not conspiratorial, this is all just basic Modern World History 101.

Thread: BH's Anorexia Primer... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Amazing how some people in this discussion provide their opinions as some kind of fact. Or their own personal experience as proof of one thing or another.
That's about on the level of the old one, 'Well, my uncle has smoked like a chimney all his life and he's 87, so it can't be dangerous to smoke'. Uh-huh. I've actually heard that one used, it made me speechless! For about 5 seconds.
These are two very different things - what you like (or think) - and what is fact.
BH, your first post is spot on, as are all your later replies. Sensible, accurate and unbiased.
And to the person who claimed (and did so seriously, apparently!!) that the first row, Anna Nicole, is some kind of 'normal' - what planet did you fall off? Heavy City USA?
Sure, voluptuous women can be very appealing. That's not the point at all. That's a matter of opinion or taste. It's not relevant here.
Skinny women can also be very appealing, and that's also a matter or taste or opinion.
For goodness' sake - what is typical in the US at the moment (people being large) is not any kind of ideal, nor normality. It's just average modern American.
Go look at 'normal' or average East African - and I'm not talking about starvation, I'm talking about ordinary people who eat and burn fats & carbohydrates at corresponding levels. Look at the sinewy fat-free look of people living the way Homo Sapiens was meant to live. They're more like 'normal' than MASSIVELY overweight US and some countries in Europe.
That's the level of labour our hearts and other organs are constructed to function most efficiently for. Call it 'sinewy' instead of skinny and we can avoid all the opinions about what constitutes skinny or attractive or whatever.
Calling any thin person 'anorexic' is a disastrous mistake. Anorexia is a severe mental and physical condition that leads to death unless stopped.

Yeah, exactly -
-Sci-Fi
-Fantasy
-Streetwear
-Lingerie
-Classic Cheesecake
...etc
All of the above - LOL (but streetwear at the bottom of the list)
Oh yes, V2 is defintiely still relevant - I use her quite frequently. I am still totally allergic to V3's shoulders/armpits, so sometimes I use V2 just to avoid that.

Thread: OT - Weirdest Fetish? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
All fetisches are perfectly OK with me - as long as all people involved are into it voluntarily.
No matter how 'odd' the behaviour may seem to others, it means something to someone and therefore I respect it.
So, none of that "How can ANYONE like xxxxxx? Eeeew" nonsense please.
Mostly I am fascinated by the fact that SO many people - including many in the Poser community - feel such a strong need to spread their opinion to influence others, as though they know right and anyone who is different to them doesn't have a clue and is only worthy of derision.
Come on people, get tolerant already. We're in the 21st Century now.
I'm talking to the ones who say "HOW could anyone xxxxx", not to everyone in here in general of course.
Of course I'm wasting my breath, but I guess that's my fetisch ;o)
:] Fish (no I'm not a fish fetischist, lool)
PS - Someone here thought using Poser for making porn was strange behaviour - i really hope that was irony, lol! Hilarious!
