Did you try all methods Vue offers? Do you know which method Poser uses? If all failed, you should submit a bug ticket
Thread: Rendering buildings imported from Poser - blotches! | Forum: Vue
Sometimes the mesh is too "tense" because of chamfers and such. Turning smoothing off can work in such situations
Thread: Rendering buildings imported from Poser - blotches! | Forum: Vue
It might come from phong angles. Double click the object in the Vue world browser and check the Smoothing angle value, hen raise it to 80°, it should fix it. Not sure all versions of Vue allow thisÂ
Thread: weird light on OBJ object | Forum: Vue
I think the problem comes from the smoothing angle. Check the value applied by Vue in the Object editor. Usually a value of 80% should smooth it out. Bur sometimes when there are chamfers close to the normals, the value needs to be set quite low, so try high and low angles and see what does the job best.

Why do you need xStream? In your specs, you don't mention any software xStream can install into as a plugin...
Thread: object edge transparency | Forum: Vue
A fractal used for transparency will work like this: where the fractal function returns black (-1), 100% transparency, where it returns white (1.0), whith variable transparency for the grey values inbetween (the whiter, the more visible), so a fractal is of no use for what you need. You need to create an alpha mask in a paint program and apply the mask in Vue
Thread: Need to have Vue reinstalled, Need downloads | Forum: Vue
Go to your account at e-on, and check the purchases page. There you can ask. For new download links. They'll be sent almist immediately. You can also ask your serial if you don?t have them anymore.
Thread: Attack of the Noobs, Pt. 1: Where the heck do I put these files? | Forum: Vue
Vue has a lot of different file format. The .vue format is the scene format. You can put it anywhere you want, just as long as you remember where you put it! Vue will normally offer to save them in Documents/e-on software/ Vue 2014/ Scenes/ Personal. This is the standard path on Windows.
Thread: Tree won't stop moving | Forum: Vue
Ecosystem plants react to breeze by default, this is why you see them moving. If you want to add wind, you need to use ventilators, since Eco plants don't react to standard Vue wind.
If you don't want them to react to breeze, you need to disable breeze in the Wind tab of the atmo editor.
Thread: differences in vue 2014 between open Gl 2.2(shader 4)and open GL (fixed hardware | Forum: Vue
I'd go for the Shader model, better preview of objects, as for ecosystems, you can always change the preview quality in the ecosystem material/painter dialogs if you feel you lack precision with shaded billboards. I find the shader model useful in the terrain editor, highlights help "feel" smooth parts of the terrain, imho.

Shader 4 model lest you preview highlights on objects, in views and in terrain editor, and allows you to see normal mapped ecosystems, instead of flat billboards (which is not always a good thing, they look better, but their size in shaded/normal mapped mode is inaccurate most of the times).
Thread: Vue - Normal maps vs Displament maps vs Bumps and Function editor | Forum: Vue
Agree, Pam, problem is you can't add a bump map to a normal map in Vue. Well, technically uou can with the function editor, but it won't be applied, because you cannot specify a depth value in the FE...
Thread: Vue - Normal maps vs Displament maps vs Bumps and Function editor | Forum: Vue
It is supposed to be one or the other if you use the material editor, because you need to tick "desplacement", and then click Import normal map. But if you check the function editor, ypou'll notice that the nprmal map has been assigned to a Normal output, so you can connect a displacement map/function to the Displacement output.
But when doing so, you can't decide of a strengh value for the displacement, and if you check your render, it seems the displament hasn't been applied, so I'm not 100% sure, but it does seem you can't use displacement and normal at the same time, nor bump and normal at the same time....
Thread: Main Camera Zoom where? | Forum: Vue
The zoom button on the top toolbar is responsible for the zoom amount you see in the info bar (next to cpu number), it is not related to the main camera view, but to the openGL display. If you want to zoom in the main view, you need to use the camera controls found under the small camera preview.
Thread: Small issue whith motion blur in animation render ...please help ... | Forum: Vue
Vuess it is because texture filtering is activated, which normally needed for animations. If you disable it, you may get artifacts like "crawling" textures. Not pretty. If you stll want to disable it, you will need to use your own rnder settings for your animation and disable it from the Anti aliasing part of the render window
