Thread: David and Mike 3 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Very nice. Guess I'll keep on saving -- who knows, maybe next time Daz has a really big sale on I'll be able to afford both these guys.

Me neither, took me well over a year, nearly two, just to decide on an upgrade from Mike to M2. The GIRL is out now but I've got Sara and HER and since I don't use alot of toons that'll likely be it for me -- unless Daz comes up with The BOY. Guess I'll wait another bit to see how David fares.

Oh dear. Been planning to get David when I save up enough money for the CD bundle but if there's not going to be much support for him I think I might not bother now. Which is too bad 'cuz from what I've seen he looks so much better than M3 -- which ain't exactly god-awful ugly but still could use improvement. Very disappointed, has anyone thought of doing a Mike/David hybrid figure? That might solve some of the clothes conversion problems, assuming there's no legal issue that would prevent it.

Yes, provided the content you use to create the piece allows for commercial use -- always check the Read Me file first, a lot of freebies are strictly for personal only -- you can sell your Poser images. But they have to be your own designs; like with traditional methods, if you didn't draw the picture and the person who did hasn't given you permission to use it, you're breaking the law if you distribute them. Whether or not money is involved. Seriously, I doubt this person has a contract and/or the artist's permission to use any of the works on that site. But if he does, the proper thing would be to say so up front, that way there's no question of legality.

Been discussing it in the copyright forum yesterday/today -- yes, people do actually read it ;-) That jerk's got a lot of nerve; however I wonder if maybe it doesn't fall into one of those grey areas. You know, where some of what he's doing (charging for time & labor to compile discs)is legal but the rest (distributing other people's artwork without their permission) is certainly not. In some places that might not be seen as a big no-no, but not here.

You can do this with any of your Poser figures, just hunt around for the costume bits. There's some in Free Stuff right here and over at RDNA. In fact, there's probably even a good bit of stuff on your P5 content CD that can be tweaked to get a pretty good ninja using either Dork or Don -- though personally I prefer Don ;-)

Yep, the materials room is where you do that in P5. And you can get free material packs at RDNA containing lots of sci-fi type textures, latex, rubber, metal, etc. There's also something called Dragonscales for Vicky, Mike, & probably David too, which can be applied as a Mat pose. It comes in different colors and one click re-textures the entire body -- you'll have to do the head separately -- also free from RDNA.

Poserworld has some good stuff too, clothes and cars from the '20s thru '40s ... with and without the bulletholes ;-)

Lots of really neat Egyptian stuff over at Poserworld. It's a subscription site -- their one-month trial offer is back -- and download to your heart's content. 20 bucks and I've already stuffed Vickie's & Mike's closets to overflowing, not to mention all the great props, sets & what-nots. And if they don't got it, you can always request an item.

Me, too. Maybe if there was no minimum, or even a lower oneone, I'd use them. And they always come just at the most inconvenient time, even if I were tempted.

No luck there, either. Found a couple in Free Stuff here but they only allow non-commercial use. If I had a notion how, I might try making my own.
