Thread: Manuals and books | Forum: Photoshop
I agree that the WOW series is good. I have them for both Photoshop and Painter. Another book I've found helpful is "Photoshop, Painter & Illustrator Side-By-Side" by Wendy Crumpler. There is a new version out covering the 7s. On the magazine front there is also an English publication called 'Computer Arts' which always has good Photoshop tutorials and tips.( Lots but less for Illustrator.) Its aimed at professionals and serious amatuers. Check out their website. Manuals are fine to a point. I personally haven't turned to other books out of lazyness. If you're prepared to tackle both Illustrator and PS 7 at the same time you'll need to be anything but lazy !

Thread: V3 Apeman | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hey- thanks for posting this!! I haven't tried out V3 much yet . Not so long ago I had to do some illustrations for a TV program on early man- I used M2 and V2. Obviously V3 with some further tweaking on your formula will get me there much faster next time. -cheers !

Thread: It's MY dead horse, I'll beat it if I want to! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Technical question-- how do you stop notification e-mails from being sent without posting yet another reply and leaving the Notify box blank if you had ticked it in an earlier reply ? This time I'll leave it blank so I won't get an e-mail but is there another way to do it ? Please send me a private message if you care to answer this question because Imackenzie's verse is where I want to stop. Thanks.

Nicely put ,Emily. If anyone actually does want to know more about the historical/social origins of Pinup art the the introduction in "The Great American Pin-Up" by C.G.Martignette/L.K. Meisel, published by Taschen would be a good start. There was a bit more behind it than just naughty pics for soldiers to be hard 'n happy with. And if I could paint as half well as any of the artists represented in it I'd be happy ! Funny how these threads go off on a tangent.....

I like Dialyns advice . And I would add what my husband just said when I mentioned this thread to him. He said " People , mainly men but not all, just like looking at bumpy round bits, its easy and it takes them back to babyhood " Hmmm... You gotta figure that the few( comparatively ) who have looked at your not- nude work have really appreciated what they've seen. As to what wgreenlee1 adds, actually I do feel like I'm playing with cyber dolls sometimes. But what the hey ? I haven't been posting here long, to teach myself PS, Painter & Poser to add to my professional arsenal is mainly why I'm doing this, - it is too easy to get hung up on viewing numbers- my personal favorite images are also the least viewed.

Thread: How do I go about getting a refund if the merchant won't reply to my e-mails? | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
I was having with the Amazon Princess but Steve at Daz has sorted that for me. There were a few freebie files I had the same problem with but I've deleted them . So its only the Cyber Vic 2 now. I'm on a Mac powerbook,512 ram, using ProPack. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly

No I haven't. I had posted origonally in the poser forum to see if anyone had any ideas and then got involved with Steve at Daz . I e-mailed direct yesterday and got Jeff who also asked if I'd used Mac Converter and then suggested I get back to the merchant . If Laetia can help- would be great !

Yes, I always do. And its all turned on in the hierarchy window, I've downloaded the file twice, run it through Mac Converter each time, installed it once using mac Installer, once manually, I even rebooted in OS9 (I usually run poser in classic with no trouble) and tried it from that and was still only the MAT pose that would apply, not the figures or props

I presume you are on a PC---I'm on a Mac using Pro Pack and I've been having exactly the same problem with Cyber Vic 2, Amazon Princess( but only intermittantly,re-installing seems to sort it out for a while) as well as numerous freebie things . My "help!" e-mail to Darkworld was passed onto Daz who said that Macs with ProPack are picky about reading cr2 and pp2 files and over at Daz they use some kind of clean-up app on files for macs to sort that problem out when they make the installer. Some might slip through the net which is probably what I got. The fixed file they supplied me with worked fine. Supposedly PCs aren't as fussy but maybe its for a similar reason that your're having that problem ? I guess my telling you all this isn't exactly going to help you solve the problem but at least you know you're not alone : )

Thread: How come my Cyber Vic is invisible ? : ( | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for trying to help but that doesn't seem to be it. I checked the heirarchy window and the 2 cyber figures I tried adding to vicky today, ie her cyber boots and cyber suit ,are turned on there but still invisible either in preview or a test render. I tried a couple of props as well but still nothing. Its still only a separate MAT pose that turns her whole nude body into a metal texture that works. It is independant of all the other figures and props that came with the set. Anyone else got an idea ? Might it be a Mac/pc compatibility issue even though the cyber set is sold as Mac compatible ? I just cant understand why one part of it does work, I would think nothing would if it is a platform compatibility thing. ( Big sigh, off to do something not on a computer )
