I believe the 32 bit license will remain permanent. This was something upt o however Smith Micro had it set up and now they won't address any questions about Poser, it's licensing, or what the "Contingencies" they had to bypass the license server for owners if they sold Poser or went out of business were. Given that Bondware's 11.2 update is 64 bit only, I would not tinker with your 32 bit install or do anything with it that might over write or jeopardize it. My understanding is that Permanent installs do not/did not Phone Home any more to check status and as long as the machine still runs it should still work. 11.2 is a whole new license system and will not see your earlier 32 bit version on install. Technically what you propose should work if the new license server has an option for permanent license, but it is also not the intent Smith Micro had with the Permanent License option (though they never said having 2 permanent activation violated EULA, their server was set up and designed expressly to prevent it happening). I would recommend proceeding with Caution, or Email Jen Blake directly ask ask for for Bondware's blessing or denial of the intent. Given the state of 32 bit support, I personally can not see why it would be an issue.

Thread: Please Add 32-BIT SUPPORT DROPPED To Poser Store Pages | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
While it is a shame to see 32 bit support gone (same for WinXP support TBH) I do need to ask how many 32 bit machines are still out in circulation? I do not think many are still made new are they? I know I was still using 32 bit for my workstation 2 years ago, but it was a 10 year old machine and I just simply am too poor to upgrade often. Even when that particular machine was built, 64 bit existed, but was still not widely supported in the consumer market (Windows XP64 just came out and was bug ridden and problematic) and I made the call to go with 32 bit. And while I do have many 32 bit machines as backups and file servers, at their maximum memory cap they could barely handle some of my work in Poser Pro(7) and Poser 2012 made them cry - queue manager for 2012 and 2014 often crashed on them, or ran so slowly because of the need for heavy page file use. It is hard for me to imagine many still wanting to use Poser, or most any 3D software on a 32 bit machine these days.
I am not asking to be difficult, I am honestly curious if many still use or buy 32 bit hardware these days?

I can't help with the serial issue, but I would like to ask for any tips you might offer others of us who would install older versions of Poser in newer windows. I would like to keep my Poser 6 (and even Poser 4 Pro Pack) usable if possible - even if it's just to keep using the Meta-Nurbs script expansion that stopped working in P7).

Thread: Any Poser Animators Here? | Forum: Community Center
I agree. I got into Poser as ab animation tool to add digital actors into other software in the first place. It is vastly under appreciated. A dedicated Animation sub-forum for Poser would be the bees-knees anywhere. I know of one over at the Hive that was implemented where a few of us have posted some ideas, thoughts, and samples. Sharing and discussing thoughts and techniques would also be very welcome. I had been doing such with a few at the old Team-Dystopia site before it vanished. I will second this idea - even though I am not as active in forums as once I was.

Thread: Render causes Poser to Crash Windows | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
@randym77 That's a very generous offer, thank you. I'm not really close, but I pass through upstate NY on my way to my family. The next time I would be headed that way is late August/Early September. To everyone who has replied, thank you for suggestions and tips. Please forgive my gruff demeanor, I suffer clinical depression and this is hitting me pretty hard on top of everything else I have been dealing with since December. I do appreciate the tips and suggestions. The official word from a technician is a bad Motherboard and a bad stick of ram. The drives, PSU, and CPU are good, as is one stick of ram. That still leaves the machine dead though.

At this time a replacement is out of the question. This came at a very unfortunate time, there are no resources available to me to replace it do to life events over the past 8 months. Even if I were to try to convert this laptop to use for graphics it would be a huge step backwards and may only have weeks or months left itself (this is older that the workstation that just died).

It is a hardware issue. Crashed during diagnostics last night and as of this morning I can not even get to POST or Bios. My workstation is dead - all work is now halted indefinitely for me.

I tried to take a took a look at the logs, but it is not showing what is causing the crash unfortunately. Long ago I disabled the auto-reboot on crash in Winxp on this system as well, so I should be seeing a blue screen with errors, but I am not. This whole situation has me baffled. I have memtest running right now, wont know what that yields until tomorrow. I really hope it's not hardware - I can not afford to replace hardware right now.

@willyb53 thank you, I think I have that somewhere, but I am really just in need of a high end material. I have been trying to make one myself, but could use ideas, when I saw the BB posts earlier I thought those looked perfect, and animatable (which would really be handy). I am retexturing several objects/figures for a project.

@raven - I had already checked there and I just checked again and the fire shader does not seem to be there. I realise it is for FF, that is what I am looking for.

Stumbled on this thread looking for pointers on fire - BB's shaders look fantastic but the links appear to be dead. Any hope of getting them relinked, or a screenshot of the setup?
